Harmony Hill of Clermont is likely to be the delightful country retreat you're seeking. Your stay with us is much like visiting your best friend's country house or visiting a favorite aunt.
Harmony Hill is ideally located in the heart of the Hudson Valley on nearly 14 acres with a stunning view. This 2800-square foot home has plenty of room for everyone to find a favorite spot.
Smaller families visiting together can easily separate their individual families into each of three suites, sharing the common spaces. There is a master-bedroom suite (The Rose Room) as well as two two-room suites each having a beautiful room for adults with an attached room for children. The Catskill Suite includes the Red Room and the Garden Suite includes the Garden Sitting Room.
***Please note it is also possible take a suite from November through April rather than the whole house.
Gather in the large living room(27 x16)with 19' ceiling and two sets of French Doors to watch the sunset; enjoy dinner in the formal dining room with antique furniture (and an upright grand piano); bake brownies in a bright, cheery kitchen; enjoy casual dinners or lounge over coffee in the breakfast nook; or stake your spot on the rococco sofa in the loft. Drag a lawn chair or a hammock to your preference of a sunny or shady spot to read a book and sip iced tea...or take a nap! Activities for children include a kiddy pool, yard activities, games, etc.
Cook or don't cook as you prefer. If you wish, we'll provide breakfast daily and dinners/barbecue for three nights inclusive when reserving for the week. Simple or catered parties/family reunions are possible with some easy planning. We use an excellent Culinary trained caterer for parties.
For families who need personal assistants, babysitters, massage, tutors or elder care, they can be available upon request at your expense with advance notice. If you need other services, do not hesitate to ask.
We are four miles from Bard College and the Fischer Center and within 20 minutes OR LESS of area attractions including historic mansions and museums; Olana; Thomas Cole museum; fine restaurants and summer stock theatre; shopping and antiquing in Rhinebeck and Hudson; and the Dutchess County Fairground events (renowned Antique, juried Craft Shows and Car Show Events).
