My family and I stayed at this gorgeous house for a week before Labor Day. We needed a home that was within walking distance to town because of our small children (12 months and 2.5 years old). the house had EVERYTHING we could possibly need. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking tools and was an absolute pleasure to cook in. We stayed at the home with our two kids and my sister and her family (4 adults total, 3 kids/babies) and the house fit us all comfortably. We cannot say enough good things about the owner, Valerie. We were nervous about traveling with our two young ones, and, wouldn't you know, there was a hurricane the day we were supposed to travel to Martha's Vineyard! Though we had to wait out the storm for two days, and got a late start on our vacation, Valerie was in constant contact with us about the status of the storm on the island. She even refunded us our rent for the two days we couldn't be there. After traveling in the dead of night for 6 hours to get to the house, we were welcomed by a special hurricane care package from her at the house upon arrival. If you have the opportunity to stay at this house, do. The home and the owner make it so worth your while.

My husband, myself, and our 2 year old daughter spent a wonderful week at the house. The house is tastefully decorated, very well maintained and stocked with everything you could want for a beach vacation. We could not have been more pleased and felt very much at home. Location is perfect for a family with young children as you are in walking distance to restaurants, the beach, harbor, shopping, movies, and the library. The private yard was also a huge plus with a toddler. We would recommend this house without any hesitation and look forward to returning next year.

We couldn't have been happier with the house and Valerie was a pleasure to deal with. The location, the floor plan, the amenities were terrific and Valerie has done a beautiful job of decorating her home. Fortunately, our weather was wonderful so we were able to enjoy a great time at South Beach and walking to the shopping and dinning in Edgartown. We toured the rest of the Island during our visit and for my money Edgartown is the place to be and you won't be disappointed with your stay at the house, it's a winner!!!

My wife and I, along with two other couples, stayed at the home for 4 nights in June and had a wonderful time! The wives could not stop commenting on how wonderfully the home was decorated and how great the kitchen looked. The husbands loved the cedar/screened sun room as we were able to drink beer and scotch in the late evenings without having to worry about mosquitoes. (We are all in our early 30s and this home is perfect for three young couples or a large family.) The home is situated within walking distance to town (5 min) and the outdoor space is great for relaxing or dining. We thought we would eat out most meals but ended up picking up food from the Edgartown Meat & Fish market and grilling every night. (I highly recommend the Kobe burgers and steak. Also, take a walk to Mad Martha's and try the sinful chocolate. It's awesome.) We're planning on heading back to the island late summer/early fall. Otherwise, we'll definitely be back next summer. Thanks again to Valerie for making our trip to MV memorable!

We love this house and the entire experience we had during our stay during the summer of 2010. It is refreshing to find an Owner who is accessible, accountable & a pleasure to deal with. Then home is in a perfect location, walkable to town for morning coffee, some afternoon shopping, and the best restaurants on the Island. The house was impeccably decorated. In the world of over decorated vacation homes filled with too much “cutesy-beach stuff”, those places sure could learn a lesson from this home. Simply decorated and comfortable from the minute you arrive. The kitchen was stocked so we could prepare any dinner we chose, and then served in the social dining area. The bedrooms were comfortable, the bathrooms were plenty. The living room is a perfect meeting spot where we enjoyed socializing and playing games (and maybe a nap). The screened in porch became a favorite spot in the house to relax and close off if you wanted some privacy. The private back yard was perfect for a toddler to run around and be safe. The only problem I have: By writing this review, it may threaten the availability of the house for us in the future. We found it was only fair to share to how great our experience was at this home and with its owner.

My wife and I and our 3 kids (6, 4 and 2) had a wonderful time on our most recent trip to the Vineyard. It was our first time renting this house, but we are certain to return. Wonderful kitchen, with all the amenities of home... comfortable living room.... and a private back yard for the kids to play. The proximity to town was especially convenient!

We stayed in July and enjoyed the clean, spacious, and well equipped home. The location was fantastic for families that like to walk to town and not worry about finding parking. I got to enjoy my shopping strolls downtown while my husband and children stayed back at the home. and It was quiet and felt private even though it is in downtown.

My husband, myself, and our daughters (ages 27 & 31) enjoyed a long overdue family vacation for two weeks at this home, Summer '10. 3 Mill Street instantly felt like home upon arriving; it is tastefully decorated throughout, and superbly equipped. It was extremely clean and well maintained with expert advice immediately available to explain how everything works should you have questions, and the owner close by if needed. We settled in immediately, enjoying lots of breakfasts in the sun room, lobster dinners cooked at home at the dining table, and many fun filled nights grilling on the patio. Whether you want to see a movie, shop, grab a drink, ice cream cone, or a meal, or take a stroll along the water, it’s all walking distance to the home! Staying in at night was very enjoyable with a good book and a glass of wine by the fire place as well. The harbor is a short walk away, the ocean is a very short drive, and the bus to other towns is around the corner at the tourist center. It’s a perfect home for anyone who wants a vacation where they have space and privacy to relax at home, but the luxuries of being close to everything! We have such a wonderful stay and could not have chosen a more perfect home to stay at, it simply made our trip. We highly recommend 3 Mill Street, and look forward to booking it again next summer!

What a wonderful time we had at this property. The kitchen was great - we enjoyed breakfast there each morning. Our weather was not the best - quite cool and some rain - but we kept nice and warm inside. The location was great - just minutes away from all that Edgartown has to offer. One night we were going to have to wait an hour for a table at a restaurant, so just walked home and had a glass of wine before walking back for dinner. We had our 20- something children with us and nobody had to drive anywhere after dark. A real plus. The house was perfect in every way.

My wife and I love this cottage. The location is in the heart of Edgartown with easy walking to numerous restaurants, shops, beach and the cinema. The cottage is perfect. The kitchen is a dream to cook in. The cozy fireplace and enclosed porch are great for reading or playing board games or puzzles. The very private yard reminds us of the "secret gardens" in Charleston. We've stayed 2 years in a row now and will continue to make it an annual trip.

We've stayed at this house regularly over the last 15 years, even before the current owner, and loved it. We missed it for a few years when the ownership changed hands but were thrilled to find it back on the market again and even more thrilled with the recent renovations and improvements! It made a perfect vacation home even more so. The in-town location is great, and the house is in pristine condition and very tastefully decorated. Highly recommended.

Our stay was perfect, we could not have asked for a better home, and that is how it felt, like home. 5 of us traveled from California to celebrate our birthdays with a week on Martha's Vineyard and this Edgartown property was just what we envisioned. The home is spotless, comfortable and well supplied, the yard relaxing and the location a perfect walk to town. You won't be disappointed!
