Lemon Tree House was the perfect house for us during our stay in Guana Cay. Each day we awoke to a beautiful sunny morning of coffee on the deck overlooking the beautiful Sea of Abaco. We ended each day with a spectacular sunset as we sipped wine and dinner on the deck as well. We spent most of our time on the pristine Atlantic Ocean Beach side which was about a minute drive in our golf cart. However, Grabbers beach was only 100 steps from Lemon Tree House...we counted them! If you are looking for a relaxing and restoring getaway this is the place. We loved it and hope to return soon. The Lemon Tree House was perfect for us.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

The Lemon Tree house was a great house and perfectly located on the island of Guana Cay. We were a short walk to the beach,Dive Guana, the ocean beach and the local hangouts. We didn't think we would need the golf cart but when we arrived there it seemed the "thing" to do. The kids had a blast riding in the golf cart and it made it easier to get groceries and pack stuff to our boat. But you wouldn't need one, everything is certainly easy to walk to except maybe Nippers after a few drinks at night. We really enjoyed the location however, at first sight the view from the house seemed different than those in the pictures we saw online. They have ran some power lines and a road between the house and the beach since the pictures online had been taken. But after we were there for a day and got into the spirit it was no big deal but the pictures were a bit decieving. We really enjoyed the location and the view at the house. The deck was awesome with a beautiful veiw of the beach and the sunsets. It was where we hung alot when we were at the house and played with the ferrel cats on the island. The house had everything you will need. It would be nice, however, if the beds were upgraded. The twin beds we slept in were pretty hard. We also found that we could have used a little more seating in the living room to sit and relax. We were a family of 6 with 2 adult couples and older teanage children and we had to take dibs on space on the couch. The other nice feature is that it is not on the big ocean side of the island. Which meant it was much quieter and less windy. The weather was very windy during our stay and I was very thankful we weren't on the big ocean side because it would have been too windy to be outside. Because of the location we were tucked out of the wind yet high enough to see over all the vegetation. The owners were very easy to work with and our deposit was returned quickly. They even provided the contact information for a great taxi driver at Marsh Harbor. I would definitely recommend this property and we would definitely rent the Lemon Tree House again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We appreciate all comments and do everything possible to ensure the best vacation home value possible. The photo of the house from the water is current and shows accurately the many trees between the house and sand beach, indicating the house is sitting on the hill overlooking the water, just as the copy in the ad states. There is a narrow road right next to the beach that can't be seen behind the trees, but does not affect the view or closeness to Sea. All the furnishings are high quality and newer. The twin beds in the second bedroom, which can be made into a king, might seem too firm for some guests, but just right for others. Since the house sleeps 6 comfortably, the living room furniture seats 6 and includes a full size couch that seats 3, a loveseat that seats 2 and deluxe leather recliner. Extra seating chairs can be moved in from the deck.

Having had used VRBO before, we were excited to find this rental home and see what Guana had to offer. It was presented accurately on the web site. The home was amaculately kept, very clean, had plenty of room for my husband, myself and our two small children. The house sits across a small road from the beach which is shared with Guana Grabbers. It was the perfect place to relax in the calm water cove at high tide. When low tide came, we hopped in the rental golf cart and went to the Atlantic side so our kids could splash in the tidal pools for hours on end. If you are looking for hustle and bustle, go elsewhere. This is about the most laid back vacation destination you will find. We will be back for sure.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family enjoyed a perfect week at Lemon Tree House on Guana Cay. This is the perfect place for a quiet relaxing away-from-it-all vacation. We had miles of postcard perfect beach all to ourselves and the little village is charming. There's just enough to make it interesting but not so much that it's "touristy". All the permanent residents are warm and friendly and made us feel safe and welcomed. We enjoyed snorkeling, island hopping & shopping, Sunday Nippers Pig Roast, fishing, beach walks and just generally chilling out. Lemon Tree features a nice TV with satellite, but we didn't turn it on. As for the house itself, it was perfect for us. Spacious, plenty of privacy and the location is great. It's a short walk to the village yet secluded. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed the great sunset views over the Sea of Abaco from the table and big deck. Jackie, the caretaker of this property is very attentive and the owner Karen was extremely gracious and helpful in so many ways. Her travel suggestions saved us big bucks for which we are most grateful. For someone looking for a romantic getaway, or quality family vacation in a beautiful setting, Lemon Tree House on Guana Cay is the perfect choice. Two thumbs up!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Lemon Tree home has everything you need for a great vacation. Its very well appointed and clean. We brought two six year olds and two sixteens they had a great time and there was plenty of room for all of us. Karen was very accommodating from the moment we contacted her. Our deposit was returned with in the week we returned home. We have been to Great Guana Cay four times now and stayed in some beautiful homes, but dollar for dollar Lemon Tree is the best. We have found the home we will stay at from now on. Jackie was right on time at the dock when we arrived and checked in on us to make sure all was well. The only problem was that our week went by to fast. Stay at Lemon tree, you won't be sorry.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My stay at the the cottage was wonderful from beginning to end. I needed help getting to Guana from Marsh Harbor and Jackie and Lowell the care takers helped me with that they also included me in thier Saturday outing because I wasn't able tom dive with the local dive shop that day. We went spear fishing and Conch (fishing?) Jackie made and Conch salad right on the boat and oh my god it was delisious. The cottage was very nicely decorated, very well kept and very comfortable for me. The cottage is right on the edge of the settlement so everything you need is very close and easy to find. The evening view from the upper porch is breath takingly beautiful. I am a diver and that is what I was there for, the local dive shop Dive Guana is ran by Troy and Maria, I was able to dive with them 5 out of the 8 days I was there (because of a low pressure system the seas were to rough) and I couldn't have been more impressed with their services. We didn't dive the same site once and every dive was awsome. I would like to mention that Karen the owner made all transactions smooth and stress free and I was very happy with the cottage for what it cost me.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I honeymooned at Lemon Treehouse in March, 2011, and we had the time of our lives! It's a great house in one of the best locations on the island. The caretaker was absolutely great, and the owners made it so easy for us to arrange our stay! We're definitely planning to return, and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a beautiful getaway with a quieter pace than Waikiki. Thanks again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My husband, two sons (23 and 20)and I stayed at the Lemon Tree House on Great Guana March 11-21, 2011. The house was perfect in every way. Very clean and roomy with a very large wrap around porch that included nice wicker furniture and the most amazing sunset and views. The interior is has a very cool island theme with new paint and high end furnishings. Large bathrooms and all the amenities you could want. The location was fantastic and within walking distance to "downtown" Guana. Within 100 yards of Grabbers and short walk to Nippers and the Beach. Boat dock very close by. The island is VERY laid back and picture postcard perfect. Rented a boat for the week from Troy and Maria at Dive Guana they were excellent and so nice and helpful. Jackie the caretaker for the house was wonderful. Great Guana is not the place to go if you need to be entertained 24 hours a day but if you are looking for a laid back paradise to enjoy the water, scenery and local character this is the best. You don't need fancy clothes, hairdryers or makeup. Just bring sunscreen, swimsuits and a comb and you are good to go. Beach is totally deserted on most days and you have miles of powdery white sand and crystal clear water all to yourself. Snorkeling around Guana is amazing. Be sure to venture over to Man O War for fresh cinnamon rolls out of Lola's kitchen, get some home made spicy Jamaican meat pies from the ice cream shop and "Conch in a bag - dirty" from the Dock and Dine. Also Friday night is chicken and conch in a bag night at Nippers which is awesome. We will definitely be back again! Thank you Karen for letting stay in your wonderful home and for all your assistance with our questions.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The Lemon Tree house fit our needs perfectly. The house and cottage were both very clean, and Jackie the care taker was very kind and attentive. The only thing I didn't realize before I got there is that the shared dock is not right at the house. Not a big deal (only about a block walk), but we had a lot of snorkeling/dive gear that we carried to/from the house. Regardless, the trip was fantastic and the accommodations were great. Would recommend the property to anyone.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We visited Great Guana Cay June 16, 2011 thru June 23, 2011. We had seven in our group so we rented the house as well as the basement cottage. Karen was wonderful to work with and was very helpful anytime we had questions. The house is impressive, beautifully decorated, and very well built. The caretaker, Jackie, was wonderful she met us as the ferry dock the day we arrived and helped us get all our things to the house. It is a short walk to the beach and the village. We did rent a golf cart to explore the island one day. We did not feel the need to rent a golf cart for the entire week as everything we needed was within walking distance. The island is beautiful and we spent most of our time snorkleing the reef were we found many beautiful shells. One day we were blessed by getting to see wild dolphins playing about 50 yards from shore. Nippers and Grabbers are fun places to go anytime. Orchid Bay was a long walk, but well worth it. The food was fantastic! Nippers pig roast was fun too. We brought most of our groceries with us and never had any problems getting it thru customs. We had 2 foot lockers full of groceries and a cooler of frozen meats. I planned out all of our meals and packed accordingly. It worked out really well. We purchased a few items in Marsh Harbour such as bread, buns, and soft drinks. We had no problem with drinking the water at the house. It tasted really good and our hair was so soft! :) One thing that I wish we had brought was some type of beach shelter such as an umbrella or travel canopy. I would definately recommend Lemon Tree House and Cottage.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent were at Lemon Tree House in May 2010. The house was beautifully decorated in bright island colors with high quality furnishings and eveything we needed. The view of the Sea of Abaco from the deck was spectacular. Everything was within a 5 minute walk yet the location was quiet and private. We especially enjoyed the snorkeling right from the beach and the Sunday pig roast at Nippers beach bar. If you are looking for nightlife, Guana Cay is not for you but if you are looking for a quiet place to just hang out, enjoy the beach and relax I would highly recommend Guana Cay. It was a perfect place to spend our honeymoon.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Our stay at Lemon Tree Cottage was excellent- the cottage has all the conveniences we needed and was absolutely perfect for the two of us. It was excellent value, clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable, with plenty of storage space. We loved cooking fresh grouper (from Milo!) on the grill, and sitting outside watching the beautiful stars at night! You might see shooting stars if you’re lucky... but don’t forget the bug spray! On the one thunderstormy day of our trip, we were very thankful for the satellite tv and air-con! The cottage is a 5-min walk from the amazingly beautiful Atlantic Ocean side, and literally a stone’s throw from the picturesque Abaco Sea side of the cay. We got a delicious picnic lunch from the bakery, which we ate on the Abaco Sea boat dock while watching the boats go by, and the ray and fish in the water. A fantastic trip!! The cottage is close to everything- we only needed to rent bicycles from Dive Guana to get around. This is a perfect place for people without a car! Snorkeling the reef is a must! Go to see Jerry and Chorene at Pirates Cove for wonderful food and drink, and even better company! We’ll never forget those baby back ribs and fresh tuna! Many many thanks to Karen and Steve for renting us their beautiful cottage and making booking so easy, and to Jackie for all her help!!! We have already recommended you to our friends! We had a fantastic time… we’ll be back!! Kirsty and Maghnus.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The Lemon Tree is a great house. Very clean, well kept and welcoming. There are great views and a great wrap-around deck to enjoy. We were there 3/22-3/29 2007 and it was very windy so water sport activity was very limited. We got to attend the Barefoot Man Concert at Nippers and it was a fun adventure! If and when we return to Guana the Lemon Tree will be the place to stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The Lemon Tree is a great house with great views. Very well stocked and well kept. Easy access to everything on the island-Guana is definitely a lay back, chill out place to be. There is one groccery store which is stocked on Thursday when the barge comes in, 2 bars and 1 cafe, 1 restaurant being re-furbished, 1 small liquor store and a restaurant at the marina I believe. This is a great place to get-away and relax.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/3

We stayed at Lemon Tree House in mid- February 2007 to un-wind. The very short walk to the Atlantic side beach was great for walks and sunrises. Timid swimmers should watch the waves on this side. On the more tranquil west side beautiful sunsets delighted us from the wrap-around porch or from the kitchen and living room when we were inside. The Lemon Tree was immaculate, airy and colorful. A few steps away is Fisher's Cove and a few more is a great place for real Bahamian fare (we followed the workmen stopping by here to pick up lunch). Although we brought a few food items from home, we bought several bags of groceries at a Marsh Harbour super market. Having the store pack them in a couple of cardboard boxes made the ferry trip to Guana Cay easier.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

My buddy Dan and I rented the lemon tree cottage for two full weeks in Jan 07. We both came for a holiday to escape the rigors of the arctic. It is my second trip to Guana and, in a large part due to the fantastic accomadations provided by the lemon tree, will be heading there for a third time for sure. The cottage was fantastic, spotless, and Jackie did everything in her power to meet our every need. I have rented other cottages on the cays and the lemon tree was one of the best. Thanks Karen and Steve and we will see you next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We rented the entire house for a week over New Years, 2007. The house was perfect for two families of four adults and four older teens and young adults. It is clean, well kept up, well equipped, and well laid out. The location is ideal, particularly if you rent a boat from Dive Guana, which I would recommend. Having a golf cart from Donna's Cart Rentals is nice and lots of fun, but not necessary in this location. Be sure to rent in advance, as she does run out. Jackie, the caretaker, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Be prepared for sticker shock at the grocery store. $6.00 for a bag of potato chips. I had brought quite a few things along, and, if we go again, I will pack an entire box of things like pancake mix and fish seasoning and Pringles. We had so much fun going out in the boat, finding a sandy beach, and snorkeling for sand dollars and conch. We saw dolphins, turtles, and flying fish. My brother swears he saw a whale while sitting on the deck. Snorkeling on the ocean side of the island was good, too. We brought wet suits, thinking it could be cold in December, but they weren't necessary. If you want a vacation where you really are getting away from it all, I highly recommend Great Guana Cay and Lemon Tree House.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

Our stay in Guana Cay was fantastic. The island is very peaceful, and everyone was friendly. All restaurants and shops on the island were easily within walking distance from the house. The house was clean, and it had everything that you could want for a week in paradise.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We stayed in the Lemon Tree House in late April 2006. It was literally the best vacation we have ever had together! We desparately wanted to "get away from it all" and Guana Cay is about as secluded and peaceful as you can get. We stayed in the lower level of the house and found it to be quite comfortable and homey. It was well built, clean, and spacious. The furniture was comfy and we especially liked having the nice kitchen. The house was easy walking distance to all the island restaurants and we had our choice of bay or ocean beach - both were so very close (and within sight of the upstairs porch!)Did you find this review helpful? We were at the Lemon Tree Cottage June 17th-24th the same week the Kelley's had the Lemon Tree House. It was perfect! We all went as a group so we spent most of our time up at the Lemmon Tree house. What a beautiful view form the porch where we spent most of our time when were not in the boat or some where in the golf carts. We still had our privacy in our cottage if we chose to be by ourseleves. What a beautiful home! We had such a wonderful time. What a wonderful place to spend a vacation. The water is just absolutely beautiful, crystal clear, it looked just like a swimming pool. Thank you Karen and Steve for a great place to spend our vacation. June 16th through June 24th, 2006 - What a view from the wrap around deck! The Lemon tree home was very lovely inside and out. Very clean and nicely furnished, and private. Our family enjoyed sightseeing, snorkeling several times at different places around the island, and catching lots of fish which we enjoyed cooking on the grill. We all thank you for allowing us to use your home. It made our stay at Guana Cay much more relaxing and enjoyable! Sincerely, Lori Truet and famiy.Did you find this review helpful? We staying in the Lemon Tree House in April, so we were among the first visitors. We absolutely fell in love with the house. Since it was just the 2 of us we rented the lower level. Our favorite part of the home was the kitchen, since we took advantage of cooking some of our meals. The living room was so comfy and I especially enjoyed lounging around on the leather chair (or couch) and watching movies on the huge TV. The nautical decoration theme throughout was perfect -not over the top, but added to the experience. The bedroom had cute wicker furniture and blinds that blocked the morning sun. Even the bathroom was spacious and clean and had a good storage closet for extra towels, etc. We were lucky enough to have the property owners in town for a few days of our vacation, so they gave us a tour of the bigger upstairs area (and we vowed to go back with our extended family). The views from the balcony were breathtaking at sunset - great bay scene. You could also see a little of the ocean, but it was about a 5 minute walk away. Speaking of walking, the house is in a great location close to all the island restaurants and the pier at which you arrive. If you're looking to "get away from it all" and enjoy a very clean, well-kept property that is owned by a couple of the nicest people you'll ever meet, you really must stay at the Lemon Tree House!Did you find this review helpful?
