Good value for your money, needs TLC

Good value for your money, but needs upgrading. Living room set in main house needs cleaning and new matress. If you are allegric to pets do not stay. Carpets are stain and dirty with pet odor stains on both the carpet and sofa's. Did not feel at home sitting on sofa's. The downstairs was old and creepy. Good for teenagers. We could not used all the sofa beds, because they were thin and you could feel the springs, so if all of our guest showed up, they would not had a good place to sleep. The regular beds in the bedrooms were soft and we did get a good night sleep. The plus side to the house, it's in a great location with beautiful morning views, and its a no hassel rental with Joy. If they clean and upgrade this house, it would be a perfect place to stay for Everyone.
Owner response:Thank you very much for your review. Gray Heron is being updated right now and all of your concerns are being addressed. Carpets and furniture are being cleaned and a mattress topper will be put in the sleepers to make them more comfy. The downstairs apartment is being arranged differently and some improvements are being made. Again thank you for your comments so that I can make Gray Heron a better place to stay.

Kinda dissapointed.

We stayed for a long weekend with two other couples. The house was decent, but the photos on vrbo have definitely been retouched. The house in general is in need of updating. Overall our stay was pleasant, but in the end we all felt like the price we paid was not equal to the amenities the house provided. Our main complaints: 1. All of the beds in the house were horrible. Everyone that stayed at the house was 30 or younger and we all left with aching backs! 2. The refrigerator was broken for our entire stay. They had someone come look at it, but they said it was working fine. After a full 12 hours of not being opened it still wasn't cold! 3. We stay in VRBO houses frequently and normal things like hand soap and garbage bags were lacking in this place. We felt like we had to buy everything. 4. Everything in the kitchen was extra old. All the pans were in really bad shape and the knives were super dull. 5. All of the televisions were really old and blurry. 6. Exterior lights on the property didn't work. It was really dark at night. I understand that it sounds like I am being super picky, but we do stay in vrbo homes a lot and the level of amenities provided for this house just didn't match the price. We had a nice time on Tybee and will be going back, but WILL NOT be staying in this house again.
Owner response:Thank you very much for your review. After the guests left we had several emails about their stay and I asked what I could do to make them happy and was told "I really don't know what to tell you that would "make me happy". I addressed all the issues he told me about and explained how I would resolve them and thanked him for his comments. As far as the photos are concerned, they are not retouched. The interior is exactly as you see in the photos. On the day of arrival I sent over an appliance repairman to take a look at the refrigerator and he said that all the settings were correct, but when hot food is placed in the fridge it takes a while for it to cool back down. An update of the property is in progress and kitchen pots, pans, utensils, coffee pot and knives will be replaced. Some of the TV's will be upgraded. After inspecting the bed in the apartment it was found that the slats were broken and a new queen mattress has been put in to replace it. My apologies for being disappointed with your stay at Gray Heron. I take these concerns very serious and want to make sure that all guests have a pleasant, memorable stay. Great News! Gray Heron has been updated.....new linens on beds, 2 new flat screen TV's, new shower curtains and liners, new bath mats, all furniture cleaned, living room furniture redesigned, deep cleaned and many other upgrades. We value our guests and appreciate all feedback.

This Home is so lovely, my family drove to Tybee from Indiana and picked up my sister and her family who flew in from California. In total there was 11 of us and still enough of room for all of us. We had such a wonderful time. The kitchen has everything you need (except food which we be able to have delivered before we even got there) to make a great meal. The downstairs bedroom is hugh and comfy and the house was clean and welcoming. Loved this house

I was the only one staying at the house with my two dogs... it's definitely spacious enough for a family gathering or several couples. The furniture is a little worn and tired... overall the place could use a some TLC. The location is perfect, a quiet side street as well as a quick walk to the beach and you're there. It's not close to town but that was what I was looking for especially since it was the Labor Day weekend and I wanted to avoid the crowds and traffic. It was easy access to Savannah as I was visiting with friends there as well.

My husband and I stayed at the Sun-Kissed cottage in 2007 for our honeymoon and it was a dream! It was under different ownership at that time, however, the cottage itself is just beautiful and comfortable! It had every amenity we could think of and made our honeymoon extra special. It's not far from the beach and other activities on Tybee and Savannah. The sunporch is so relaxing, especially watching the waterfall in the back. We couldn't wait to get "home" each day to relax after our excursions.

My family and I just spent a long weekend at The Sunkissed Cottage. We where more than pleasantly satisfied with the home. It was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. The new walking bridges to the beach were a plus. We enjoyed riding our bikes into town and along the beach. We would love to stay again soon.
