Relax on your Cape Cod vacation at our waterfront home located on Monomoscoy Island in Mashpee. Swim right off the dock! The living room and sunroom open onto a ground level deck and patio overlooking the water. Great River is a salt water river which opens onto Waquoit Bay; wonderful for swimming or boating. At the end of the Bay, pass through the jetty to enter Nantucket Sound. The fishing is great. Kayaks can be rented locally for an outing to Washburn Island, part of the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, only accessible by boat. Monomoscoy Island is private and serene for your relaxing vacation in this lovely 4 bedroom, 3 bath home on the water.
Walk the mile long island for an up close look at the nesting osprey; there are many nests to view - the tops of telephone poles seem to be the favored location! Perhaps you will be fortunate to see one of the resident great blue herons as well. The island is a wildlife sanctuary, designated by a sign at the causeway. This restful sanctuary by the sea is off the beaten path, yet so close to so many activities and attractions.
Mashpee Commons, minutes away, is a large outdoor shopping area with many restaurants, a movie theater, stores and smaller specialty shops. Downtown Falmouth boasts many small shops along its quaint Main Street and Hyannis has the Cape Cod Mall. In the summer Main Street in Hyannis closes one day each week for family fun and shopping. Also in Falmouth is easy access to the ferries that will take you to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. If you have a boat, Martha's Vineyard is only about 30 minutes from our dock. Golf courses are plentiful all across Cape Cod with many right nearby in Falmouth and Mashpee. On-site deep water access dock arrangements available.
