Bonnie was wonderful to deal with throughout the booking process and during our stay. The house was super clean, cozy, and perfect for families with young kids. Our kids loved the sandbox and swing set on the property. We didn't want to leave!! A ton to keep you busy and keep your kiddies happy!! Can't wait to go back to Silver Lake and stay with Bonnie!!

After years of staying in older outdated rickety cottages, we made the decision this time to be comfortable and it made all the difference to the enjoyment of our vacation. This home was clean, and well situated between the lake and the pool, with fabulous decks front and back. Showers that work, and laundry in the cottage! I felt like the queen of vacation. Thank you Bonnie for sharing your home with us. This is the ONLY cottage I will rent when visiting Silver Lake.

We rented Bonnie's 5 bedroom cottage which is located just down the street from the property shown above. The 4 bedroom was not available and the 5 bedroom was absolutely perfect for our family. Everything we could have possibly wanted was available to us from the rocking chairs on the front porch to the gas grill by the back deck, the very nice picnic table and private fire pit in the backyard with chairs and a swing around it. Inside, the cottage was immaculate and very well furnished. We appreciated all the kitchen supplies including coffee maker, blender, numerous pans, dishes, utensils, etc. The entire cottage, including the bedrooms, was decorated very well and included thoughtful little details like hooks for towels in the back hallway, stair lights on both sets of stairs, closets with hangers, shelves, and much more. The large dining room table was perfect for seating all 10 of us for dinner but then we could split it in two smaller square tables for games in the evening. We used the washer and dryer primarily for towels during the week and it was a nice extra to have available. We were close by the swimming pool and other cottages, yet the setting was peaceful, private and quiet. The driveway was large enough for us to park a cargo trailer, large boat and 2 vehicles. We definitely appreciated how clean the cottage was throughout all the rooms, including the lower level areas. It is in a convenient location for the many activities available around Silver Lake. Our family had an absolutely fabulous week at the cottage!

Our family just finished our second stay at this cottage, and we had a great time once again. This is a fantastic vacation spot for families! The cottage is very clean, well kept, bright, colorful, and tastefully decorated. It was nice to have laundry facilities, a dishwasher, two refrigerators, and two bathrooms, and there were plenty of nice dishes and towels for our large group. The yard area was large with ample space for games and running around, and the kids enjoyed the swing set and sandbox. The pool and clubhouse are literally across the street and are well kept, and the neighborhood is friendly and quiet. The owners really care for their property. Our relatives have rented other cottages from them, and with great reviews. Bonnie is very welcoming, responsive, and accommodating. Our one criticism is that, while there is access to Sliver Lake, the beach is small and isn't very conducive to children, and it's right off the main road. There is a public beach in close driving distance, though, and the sand dunes and lighthouse are great attractions. Overall, we give this vacation spot five stars!

Our family had a wonderful time. The cottage was beautiful! Very clean, warm and welcoming. Definitely a place that we will be returning to year after year. There were so many different things to do. We wnt to the dunes, ate at a few different resurants, shopping was great, we rode bummper boats and went go karting, and did a little disc golfing. The pool was excellent! Very clean and nice temp. The people in the surrounding cottage were very nice and friendly. There wasent one single complaint about anything! If your looking for a nice family type getaway this is definitely the place to go! Loved it!

We stayed at the five bedroom cottage. There were twelve of us including five grandchildren. We loved the house and the locations was wonderful. So much to do, boating, swimming, sightseeing, swimming and much more. The pool was very close so the grandkids used almost everyday. There is also a nice clubhouse close to the pool. We loved the rocking chairs on the porch and the fire pit in the back yard. The house was plenty big for all of us...we had a grand time! And thank you Bonnie for answering all our questions.

Not for tall people or teenagers

On the plus side- house was very clean and nicely decorated. On the negative- definitely not a comfortable place for tall people (over 6'). The beds are small. There is a busy road between the house and the lake. There was a sense of always being watched and evaluated. We had teenagers, some tall boys who did not fit in the beds and who were always viewed suspiciously. The owners came on our second night and cursed us for a fairly minor issue and another one that was not true but reported by some unknown "neighbor". The boys had made a mistake, but no damage or injury was done. After that we felt on edge and very defensive for no real reason. Other than having the busy road between you and the lake, the cottage is best suited for young children with smallish parents.
Owner response:All Beds are standard size beds. Quuen, Full and twin beds. The ceilings height are all 8' except in the main living room area where it is open up to 15' The busy road is Silver Lake road which cottage does not sit right on. The cottage is on a private road called para sail dr. Silver Lake road which runs along the water is approx 200' from cottage. Teenagers (or anyone) are not allowed to climb on the roof to obtain access into the look-out tower. There is no access to the look-out tower (shown in picture) inside the cottage and you cannot access it from the roof either. If you are on the roof and on the back side of the cottage you would have a 40' fall as this cottage sits on a hilltop.Very scary and dangerous! This action would cause the owners (us) to come out and talk with the parents.
