Enjoy one of the best beaches on Lake Michigan!
Located right on the shore of Lake Michigan in Good Hart Michigan, "Geronomo" is now available for 2009. This is a comfortable two bedroom, one and a half bath cottage with a loft and game room. It is available weekly from June through November.
Besides the beach, there are loads of things to do. Golf (including mini-golf) is available for duffers of all abilities. You can play the fantastic Ross or Heather courses at Boyne Highlands or just a round of 'barnyard' golf with the kids. The ferries to famous Mackinac Island are about 30 minutes away.
If you like to cook, there are excellent farm markets a few miles from Geronomo. And, of course, there is great shopping and restaurants nearby in Harbor Springs and Petoskey.
Geronomo is available on a WEEKLY basis, from Saturday to Saturday. Our season is June thru November.
Built in 1965, Geronomo is located on approximately 160 feet of sandy beach. Facing west, it offers beautiful views of Lake Michigan, Beaver Island and glorious sunsets with an occasional "green flash".
Enhancements include new upholstered furniture, new carpeting, new beds and bed linens, new window coverings and the addition of a ceiling fan in the main living area.
The main living area has a vaulted ceiling with a two-story wall of windows facing Lake Michigan. There is a wood-burning fireplace flanked by comfortable furnishings that include a couch, love seat, two upholstered swivel chairs (the better to watch the sunsets) and a rocking chair, as well as occasional tables and generous lighting.
For entertainment, there is a color TV with a DVD player and a satellite connection, as well as a personal stereo unit with CD player. The dining table seats eight and is at the end of the main living area.
One bedroom has a king-size bed with four king-size pillows and three European shams. The closet provides hanging space and a wire multi-drawer storage unit. The room includes a luggage rack.
The second bedroom has two twin beds, each with two standard pillows and a European sham. The closet provides hanging space and a wire multi-drawer storage unit. The room includes a luggage rack.
The loft overlooks the main living area and has wonderful lake views. It has three additional twin beds, each with two standard size pillows. The loft is a great play area for children.
The kitchen has an electric four-burner range/oven unit, double sink, full-size refrigerator with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker. It is fully equipped with dishes, eating utensils and cooking equipment.
The main bathroom has one sink, a toilet and a shower over the tub. A hairdryer is provided. A half-bath is off the game room in the basement.
The basement (with views of the beach) is set up as a game room. There is a Foosball table, a game table with four chairs (good for card or board games or working jig-saw puzzles), a comfy couch and a satellite color television with a built-in VCR player.
Double doors lead to a wooden deck at ground level that has a Weber barbecue and an outdoor chair and table.
The entrance door is located on the second level, above the basement. There is a good-sized deck with a table and four chairs for dining al fresco; the deck extends to the front of the house for beautiful views of the beach.
Stairs lead from the walkout basement deck to the 160 foot sandy beach. The cottage is on what many think is the best stretch of beach in the greater Good Hart area.
