"The Treehouse" a cozy cabin located on private property in central Texas, offers you a secluded and peaceful place to enjoy the sounds and sites of nature. Nestled among the trees, this hide-away is just minutes from downtown Smithville which offers many antique and gift shops.
There are other places to visit in Smithville such as several restaurants and also many sites that were used in the filming of the movie "Hope Floats" and "The Tree of Life".
Relaxing on the upstairs deck, you will enjoy the sites and sounds of the bountiful species of birds, the colors of beautiful butterflies and the sounds of nature at it's best. If you are in the mood for a little exercise you can take a short hike to the creek and dip your toes in the spring-fed waters.
"The Treehouse" is equipped with everything you will need to make your visit enjoyable and relaxing.

- Bunk Bed (2) : Two sets of bunkbeds in the bedroom add extra sleeping accomodations. The kids love the bunkbeds (and there are several adults who think they are pretty neat too)
- Convertible Bed: The sofa sleeper in the main room makes in to a comfortable queen bed

- Full Kitchen: The Treehouse has a full kitchen that has all the accessories you need to prepare your meals. No oven, but there is a toaster oven and a roaster. Plenty of plates, glasses, silverware for your use. We even have a dishwasher to help clean up.

- Deck/Patio: There is a deck on the second level that lets you enjoy your stay in the trees. This deck is also fenced and gated to allow our canine guests to be outside with their owners not worrying about them running off. (This works well for small children too!) The covered patio has a concrete floor, picnic tables, and lighting to enjoy your outdoor cooking. Both the Deck and Covered Patio have electricity and stereo speakers

- The Treehouse allows you to be close to nature at its best. The birds and butterflies enjoy the trees and grasses. Check out the mighty Bald Eagle that can be regularly seen from October to May. Or, watch the fireflies light the summer night. The moon and stars are bright in the Central Texas sky.
- Suitability
- Pet Friendly: Well-behaved canine guests are always welcome at the Treehouse. Additional cost applies. Please advise management if you will be bringing your canine friends.
- Kid Friendly: Kids love the Treehouse! Lots of space to run and play. This is the only house on the property, so kids can really have fun without concern of bothering "the neighbors". We even have an outdoor shower with hot/cold running water that the kids love to use (a few adults love to use it too).
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters: Our insurance requires that all renters be at least 21 years old.
- Smoking Not Allowed: Smoking is allowed outside. Buckets with sand are scattered on the decks and patio for the convenience of our smoking guests.

We love owning The Treehouse Vacation Cabin. When our guests arrive, they often call to tell us that "IT IS WONDERFUL" and that they are really enjoying their stay. It is not unusual for our guests to invite others to join them or request additional days to stay longer.
Our guests are great! They take such good care of The Treehouse Vacation Cabin, like it was their own home.
We have owned The Treehouse Vacation Cabin for nearly 3 years. My husband, Mike, and I have been in the vacation rental business for many years. It has been a rewarding business, making our guests happy by providing a special place to spend their vacations.
We are developing acreage besides The Treehouse Vacation Cabin where our guests will get to see herds of Texas Longhorn cattle, olive orchards, "Hot Wheels" the painted donkey, guinea hens, "Jerry" the sheep, and beautiful horses that run through the pastures. In our free time, we enjoy our grandchildren, antiquing, and just relaxing in the country.

We live in Smithville and found this lovely property along the Colorado River. It is particularly fun for our visitors since it is the only vacation rental on this stretch of the river.

You get to enjoy the river and the area around it every time you visit. There is never a "better" season to visit to visit The Treehouse Vacation Cabin. In the Summer and Spring, you can enjoy the birds, animals, fishing, canoeing, kayaking outdoor dining. Winter and Fall, you see more of the land when the trees lose their leaves and can cuddle up in front of the fireplace. In the Fall and Winter, you can see the Bald Eagle families on the water. The Treehouse is located just 3 miles from Smithville that has the area's best antique shopping. It is also the first "Film Friendly" town in Texas...a big attaction for filming and commercials. The Treehouse is located close to major highways to allow easy access to Austin, Houston, San Marcos Outlet Malls, San Antonio, Antique Shows in Round Top/Warrenton, and many other Central Texas activities.

As usual we had a wonderful "family time" at the Treehouse. It is a great getaway and is so comfortable. We love the new sofa and big screen TV. We'll be back soon.
