Hale Pali is a spectacular (non-smoking) "on the water" OCEANFRONT home. We heartily agree with our many guests who have emphatically stated that "there is nothing that compares to actually being on the water", highlighted by the sights, the sounds, and the smell of the sea air.

The home is beautifully and tastefully decorated and has been recently up-graded with teak furniture. You will love cooking in the fully equipped, Rick Hartman designed, gourmet kitchen. You can keep cool by taking a dip in our 3,000 gallon "natural" lava-pool or just "chill" while lounging on our small private white sand beach. “Techie’s” may want to connect to the internet via our COMPLIMENTARY wifi.

A perfect day will begin while sitting on the sea wall, having coffee, and looking out to sea. Just imagine your body gently warming as the sun slowly rises over the eastern flank of Mauna Loa. You will also be amazed by the spectacular “blow-hole”, a natural feature that defines the southwestern corner of the property. Afternoons are a fabulous time to nap in the luxury of our generous two-person hammock.

Three bedrooms and two baths will comfortably accommodate six guests.

Enjoy sitting on a spacious lanai looking out over the blue Pacific, where humpback whales put on a “show” during regular seasonal visits. Don't be surprised to see pods of dolphins swimming by, green sea turtles foraging for food, or you might even see the wingtips of a Manta Ray playfully sunning itself near the water's surface.

This is the perfect spot to relax at the seaside away from the hustle and bustle of “in-town” resorts. Savor the end of the day, which almost always features a strikingly beautiful sunset. It would be hard to imagine a better spot to read or write your favorite novel.

It's well worth the 45-minute drive south of Kailua-Kona to enjoy the rural South Kona Coastline. The Kona Coast is known throughout the world for its awesome deep-sea fishing and pristine ocean waters.

If you want to get away from noisy sirens, aviod the sound of airplanes passing overhead, and not deal with traffic congestion - come join us for a memorable and relaxing stay at “Hale Pali on the Sea”.

Owner's Map of Milolii

Owners Carl and Deborah Ramsey have resided on the Big Island for nearly 30 years. They are San Francisco State grads and moved to the islands from the Bay Area. More than 25 years of rewarding work has been done while counseling in the Hawaii Island public school system.

Their residence is an 8 1/2 acre farm just up the mountainside from the beach house. Although the crops are not extensive, Deborah does grow some Kona Coffee.

Meeting fascinating guests from all around the planet is the best part of owning and operating Hale Pali, they say. Please come and join them along the beautiful and quiet south kona coast.

HOMESICK

We were so pleased with our stay July 3rd through 13th, 2011 at what we feel is our "best" home away from home. The night after we came back state side, I told my husband "I am homesick, for Hale Pali." He agreed. The home is so warm and inviting. There is so many areas in the home and outside to sit, I had a hard time deciding where is the best place to relax. Glad we where there for 10 days. I could never in my wildest dreams imagine lava cliffs would be so beautiful. Met Momma Lou, what a lovely woman. She made sure the Fed Ex driver that delivered our son's guitar arrived safely. And we enjoyed the neighbor blowing his conch shell at sunset. Thank you Carl and Deb for sharing your paradise. ;

My husband, my mother & myself stayed there in Feb.& March of 2007 and we still think about it. It is so beautiful and peaceful. I would definitely stay there again. We could hear the whales from our bedroom. Awesome. This is for sure the place to unwind and relax.

The minute we walked into HalePali we knew it was the perfect place for our family (3 generations) to spend a week together. Our kids immediately said: "Let's never leave this place!" We loved every minute--especially the beautiful kitchen and lanai where we enjoyed dinner watching the sun set every evening. Thanks Carl and Deborah. We stayed at the Ramsey's lovely Hale Pali on the Sea, and had a wonderful time. The house was spacious, and appointed with everything we could possibly need! It felt like home. The white sand beach was great! The porch hammock was a favorite spot for our afternnon naps (what are vacations for?). We appreciated the seclusion of the area, rather than staying in the usual crowded resort. The rugged coast was striking, and the red, glowing sunsets were spectacular! We would highly reccommend Hale Pali for anyone looking to see a different side of Hawaii and who truly wants to relax.
