We stayed at this house during the MLK Holiday weekend. The weather was mild and allowed us to get some great hiking in and see some of the outdoors. My fiance and I stayed here with another couple and then a single friend. The house was still decorated for Christmas and was done pretty nicely. You can tell that the owners care a lot about the property and take care of it. The kitchen was BEYOND stocked. I had come prepared with all the condoments we would need and found that they actually had the place stocked with everything. They had a TON of dishes and serving bowls, platters, pans, etc. Everything one would need. We actaully used the crock pot to make some pulled pork carnitas for dinner one night and it cooked it perfectly. A couple of things to note though to other people looking to rent the house: The 2nd bedroom is a loft so make sure whoever takes that bedroom is ok with that. They will be able to hear everything that happens on the 2nd floor. Also, we had 5 people, all adults meaning one person slept on the couch. I know this house says it sleeps 6 comfortably. We all agreed that 5 adults was pushing the comfort level in the house. I would say if you are going there with kids, then 5 is fine. 5 Adults was a little tight. Just something for others to note about the property. We still had a great time and would recommend the house to others.

This was a girls week out and we were all extremely pleased with this rental. We felt at home as soon as we walked in. The living room had very comfortable seating which gave us a nice place to relax after a full day of activities and shopping in Gatlinburg,Pigeon Forge and Cherokee. The rooms were even nicer than they appear in the photos and the whole cabin was so clean, which is very important to me. Our yorkie-poo loved the large deck and the back streets for walking, which had very little traffic. Even though you were in a community with houses close by, it still felt secluded. We walked a couple of days down to the Arts & Craft Community and enjoyed the wonderful shops with the hand made treasures. There is a trolley stop beside the shops if a family choice to use this form of travel. We enjoyed shopping in Gatlinburg and the Tanger Outlet in Sevierville. The aquarium was fantastic and was well worth the cost of admission. We also enjoyed trying new resturants that are not available in our area. Thank you Charles and Sharon for sharing your home with us. I hope we will be able to visit again.
Owner response:So happy all the 'girls' enjoyed Fox's Den Chalet so much! We strive hard to make it a 'home away from home' for our guests. Glad your vacation went so well. Sounds like you were very busy in the surrounding area. Thanks again and we hope to have you again as our guests real soon!

This was our second time to stay in Fox's Den. We enjoy the location and love Gatlinburg. Being able to bring our minature schnauzer is a big plus. We had our grandson with us and he is in to video games and loved playing the Game Box upstairs. We will be back!!
Owner response:Thank you so much Bill & Denise. So glad your family had a great vacation. Life is too short not to make memories. We love our repeat customers!

My daughters (30 and 32) had wonderful time on our family trip. We all thought the chalet was great. I couldn't believe how well-stocked it was. The only downside was the 2 dogs across the street. They had gotten out of their fence, and for 2 days no one seemed to be home. One of them hated my beagle and would even come up to the front door and growl at him. We had to lead the dogs down the street so we could take my dog out. They were fine with the people, just not my dog.
Owner response:Our neighbors do have an electric fence for their dogs, but every once in awhile they do get out. We've never seen them not like other dogs, but we know they love people and are use to kids as there are 2 in that family. Very nice neighbors.

We absolutely fell in love with the Fox's Den! Very serene & comfortable area, and we loved all the amenities that came along with the cabin. We really enjoyed our stay, just wish it could have been longer! Really enjoyed eating at Calhouns (order the Ale Steak), Dollywood, and our traditional drive to Clingman's Dome. We did see a bear on the drive up but it almost caused a traffic jam, lol! My 8 yr old daughter and 2 yr old niece really enjoyed all the extras for children-(books and movies!) Thanks again to the Morgans! It is very obvious they take great pride in their own little piece of the Smokies-I have stayed at many other places, but their attention to details (popcorn, hot chocolate, coffee, blow dryers, wide array of utensils & kitchenware, etc.) shows they really care for their property and guests! We will definitely be back!-Chad, Julie, & Kerrigan Slaton/Joey, Taria, & Lilli Lawson

My husband and I had a wonderful time at your chalet. It was exactly as stated on VRBO, and actually had even more "extras" too. It was very clean, neat, and had a great location to downtown. I would recommend your chalet to my friends and family. The location is very beautiful, quiet, and serene. A great place to stay if you're looking for some relaxation. Thanks so much for providing your chalet to us. We loved our Gatlinburg vacation.

What a wonderful vacation! The chalet was MORE than you could ask for and the location was ideal. It's obvious the owners care about the property and I was more comfortable the week we stayed than in any hotel I've stayed in. And the bonus is I got to take my older dog so I didn't have to worry about her in a kennel while I was gone for a week. She settled right into her little bed (slept most of the time) and was as happy as we were. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I spent days looking online and I am confident there is none better. Thank you for sharing your second home.

The house was clean, cozy, and well-stocked. However, we were disapointed that the 'second bedroom' was only a loft room and was not enclosed. This was uncomfortable for two couples traveling together because of the lack of privacy. Also we could not use the hot tub because it was dirty.
Owner response:We are not happy when anyone is disappointed with our cabin. We have stayed there many times with friends with no problem. Guess it's always a matter of preference. Very sorry the hot tub was not clean. Had you called us when you arrived, we could have taken care of it for you. Our cleaners strive hard to keep everything in top shape, but sometimes they get in a hurry and forget something. Am very happy that the cabin was clean, cozy and well-stocked for you. We appreciate the good compliments.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Fox's Den Chalet. My husband & I brought my Father for a get-away and he raved about how wonderful it was there. The surroundings were very peaceful and well maintained. The chalet itself was very clean, well decorated and comfortable as well as having all the amenities from home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fox's Den Chalet..so many additional amenities that we did not expect! It is obvious that the Morgans take a lot of pride in their residence, and it shows! This location is far enough away to enjoy a relaxing quiet time, but close enough to shopping, Arts 7 Crafts community and Gatlinburg! My advice to those reading this: don't pass this one up! My pups were very comfortable here! They even had dog treats waiting for them! It was a wonderful vacation!

Our stay at Fox's Den was a wonderful getaway. The cabin is very comfortable and well equipped. What a great idea to supply a crockpot. We were able to have a meal awaiting us when we returned from a day of sightseeing. The cabin was very homey and relaxing, well-maintained and tastefully decorated. The master bedroom mattress was premium and comfortable. What a plus compared to some motel mattresses we've experienced!

Thanks so much for all the extras you've included in the rental home. Tea, coffee, laundry soap; even salt and pepper, can opener, etc. It makes it more of a vacation when you don't have to bring every item from cabinets at home. The hot tub soothed muscles after all the hiking and shopping trips. Sunday we drove to Maggie Valley, Cherokee and back to Gatlinburg. Fog shrouded the area at Newfound Gap. We had driven up there Saturday but were able to get above the cloud layer at the top and get some good pictures. It's been 3 years since we've stayed in your rental but are so glad to have the chance to stay here again. Bless you both!

We've come to Gatlinburg many, many times, but we had never stayed in a cabin before. Now, we'll never stay in a motel again!! Our cabin felt like home. It was exactly as described online - only better! The little extra touches were fabulous - a bookshelf of kids books, comfy (and clean!) furniture, big fluffy bath towels, a backpack cooler for picnics, coffee in the fridge, extra pillows, beautiful bed linens, festive lights lining the deck, labels on the light switches, a basket full of brochures and a binder full of information. Even this little guest register was a fun surprise! Thanks for such a great time! We hate to leave, but we can't wait to come back!!

Fox's Den is a wonderful, homey & private place to stay. We loved the hot tub and privacy - washer & dryer definitely a plus with two children. The backpack was very useful several times. It was nice to have everything you need when you arrive. Checking in is made so easy! We will always have beautiful memories of staying at Fox's Den with our 8 and 9 year old grandchildren. This was a vacation for spring break. Being able to get out early in the day and then relaxing in the evening hours was a special highlight. Nights were around 50 degrees. The hot tub was wonderful for unwinding!! Thank you for the opportunity to use your cabin. We purchased your cabin through Eagle 99.3 auction without seeing it or knowing anything about your home. We were very impressed. We've been here 17 years out of our 21 years of marriage and we love it and find new things to do every time. Your home is very comfortable for a family of 4. We hope to return here again. It is well equipped - the hot tub is great! We forgot our cooler, the use of your backpack/cooler was a nice touch for our picnic to Cades Cove!

We were here for Christmas Vacation and traveled by car. The kids enjoyed the trip to the Aquarium the most. Mom & Dad just enjoyed getting away from the computers, cell phones and all the hussle & bussle of home. Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful retreat! This is our second stay at the Fox's Den! There was snow on the mountaintop when we arrived. By Sunday, the first day of spring, it was 65, and sunny. We had a good time. Greenbrier Trail, just east of here was a scenic place. One way in and same route back out. The guys golfed at the Bent Tree Golf Course. We went to the Aquarium, Dixie Stampede, and the Outlet Shops. Thanks for the fireplace for the cool nights, and the hot tub!

We even saw a large black bear and 3 cubs!!! For delicious ice cream, go right around the corner to the Glades Road Soda Fountain - you won't be disappointed. The aquarium is crowded, but a must see! The Peddler for dinner (order the trout), lots of driving - especially the loop at Cade's Cove right before dark (we saw 60 deer!) and going White Water rafting on the Ocoee River. We arrived to the cabin on Friday, raining hard. We really loved the cabin, and the peaceful feeling you get just being away from the normal life. Has rained almost 5" since we have been here. We traveled the strip and through Cades Cove. This is a spot I recommend for all. Bring film, as you will be overcome with the beauty of this place. Lots of deer, water falls, and beautiful streams. No bears on this trip, maybe next time. We went to Big Bear Musical in Pigeon Forge. Food isn't that great, but show was excellent if you like good singing and fun. Overall me and my fiancee had a great time, getting married in October, might be our honeymoon spot!
