The Creole Cottage is designed as a carriage house, but with a surprisingly spacious feeling. A superb architectural design leaves our guest with the feel of a true cottage where there is plenty of living space for a couple or a couple with one or two children. The unique features of this home are an open living/dining area with a traditional full staircase to the loft, which allows all age groups to easily access the loft and its living area safely. This design sets the Creole Cottage apart from other carriage houses in Rosemary Beach which have a ladder, spiral staircase, or alternating staircase to access the loft.
The Creole Cottage has 745 square feet of living area. It features a double garage on the first level with an outdoor shower. The second floor features a wrap-around balcony, a living/dining area with a queen sleeper sofa, a table for six, an entertainment center with stereo/CD/DVD/VCR/TV, kitchen with professional appliances, and bathroom with laundry area. A traditional full staircase leads to the third floor loft which has a queen bed, arm chair, and TV/DVD/VCR/Nintendo 64. We have cable fast internet, ethernet connection and wireless.

I hesitate to give an excellent review of Creole Cottage as I would love to keep it a secret! I love this place. As previous reviews have stated, this cottage is extremely well-kept and the location was perfect for my husband and myself. The walk to the beach is straight down the street and the pool is around a corner and down a short street or a boardwalk. The only reason that I hesitate to give this property 5 stars is the depth of the balcony. It is not as wide as I would have liked for relaxing in a chair and observing the picturesque surroundings. This fault is overcome because of the two sets of "french" doors which help bring the outside in. So, 5 stars it is! The garage was a tight squeeze for our Ford SUV but that is not a deal breaker. A plus is that the owner rents you the entire carriage house--that means no unexpected rising of the garage doors that intrudes on your peace and quiet! FYI: If anyone had parked on the street behind the carriage house, though, we would have had to maneuver the Expedition to get it out without a hitch. The courtyard is an added luxury. Even though one shares the grill and courtyard with the big house, the owner says that the renter of the carriage house should have no problem enjoying the courtyard as the big house has tons of porch space for its renters. No one was in the Creole Plantation when we were there and we felt like the courtyard belonged to us. Privacy is expected and that is what one gets at Creole Cottage! The bathroom is on the main level, so if you get up at night, just be aware that the queen sized bed is in the loft and you will need to go down the staircase (full sized) to attend your needs. No full closets are in the cottage, but you have plenty of dressers to store your clothes. There is also a coat rack to hang your beach towels on to dry or to stow your sweaters or robes. There are plenty of nice thick towels supplied (bring your own beach towels!) in the bathroom. The soaps for your use are high quality. You will find a hair dryer, a full sized washer/dryer and an iron with ironing board in the bathroom as well. Stove and dishwasher are full sized and high end. Thank you to the owner for maintaining this property to perfection.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children.

My husband, daughter, and I spent the week here just a couple of weeks ago - and we LOVED IT! The cottage is great for a couple or couple with a small child or two. We brought our own travel toddler bed for our 2-year old and it fit just fine upstairs in the bedroom with us. Having use of the garage was a bonus, with all the large SUVs that are around, it's nice to be able to get one car off the street! Having the Coquina pool a 2 minute walk away was fantastic - my daughter could take a nap in the afternoon and one of us could always go to the pool or walk the short walk to the beach, and get a good hour of quiet time before switching off - convenience is a wonderful thing. The cottage was immaculate, fully equipped/furnished and we had no issues at all. Gayle is a breeze to work with, really made this vacation easy for us, which is exactly what we wanted. Found out the people staying in the Plantation (the adjoining big house) lived 10 minutes away from us here in Ohio. Small world. We would absolutely stay here again, and we hope to return to Rosemary next year.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children.

My two daughters and I spent a week at Creole Cottage a couple of years ago. Owner was extremely easy to work with. We had a delightful time exploring, day and evening. Such a nice treat just to walk around the town, gas lights burning, quiet, clean. The beach was awesome and just a short walk from the cottage. We are looking forward to renting the 'big' house one day soon! Everything was as described.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+.

My wife & I recently stayed in The Creole Cottage for 5 nights. We found the accommodations to be clean, well-maintained and very well described in the listing. Windows on three sides allow for great light any time of the day. Furnishings were adequate and neat. The kitchen size was limited, but functional and well stocked with needed dining equipment. The sleeping loft added to the space and provided non-cramped living. Though small, the two sided deck allowed for relaxing in the fresh air. Located very close to the beach and town center. We parked our rental car in the garage and walked everywhere. The owner was easy to work with and had everything ready for us in advance of our arrival. We were very well pleased with our experience and would rent The Creole Cottage again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children.

My husband and I went to Rosemary Beach to celebrate a friend's 40th and stayed in the carriage house of the Creole Cottage. What a great trip!! The house was immaculate and very tastefully decorated. Also, the location was the best as it was only a short walk to the beach or to the town center. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. The owner couldn't have been more accomodating, and was so easy to deal with. Thanks for helping make our weekend so enjoyable!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The Cerole Cottage was perfect for my family of (3). The rooms were impressively clean, even in the nooks and crannies( which is my wifes test of cleanliness). Perfect location with easy access to the beach, pool and to the town center. Truly a relaxing environment. The home onwer even checked in with us to make sure eveything was acceptable and was very easy to deal with. We loved our stay and HIGHLY reccomend the accomidations.Did you find this review helpful?
