Our Maui condo is one of the finest condominiums within the Village by the Sea. We are located on the fourth floor on the INTERIOR of the complex. Our view is ABOVE the tree level and completely unobstructed. We are located in the much desired South building, The Plumeria Building, at the complex. In addition to fantastic ocean and island views we overlook the impeccably-maintained tropical gardens, putting green and sparkling pool area.
WE DO NOT OVERLOOK THE PARKING LOT.
Our condominium is only 100 yards from the ocean--NO CROSSING THE STREET to sink your feet into the warm Maui sand! The UNCROWDED beachfront at the Kauhale Makai is excellent for long morning walks, shelling and breathtaking sunset views.
Many of Maui's world famous beaches and renowned golf courses are located just minutes away! Visit the exclusive Shops at Wailea for an out of this world shopping adventure! Our central location is convenient to many of Maui's natural attractions not to mention restaurants, shopping, grocery stores and entertainment.
We have a fully stocked kitchen with everything you need for cooking. There are 5 gas barbeques located in the courtyard/common area adjacent the pool area. Enjoy a barbeque, swim and watch the sunset for a relaxing evening at home! This is an extremely friendly complex.
For your comfort, the condo is CENTRALLY AIR CONDITIONED. There are few properties in Kihei that have this feature. We also have ceiling fans located in the bedroom and dining area.
For your day at the beach we provide beach chairs, beach towels, coolers and umbrella! Just bring the sunscreen!
For your peace of mind, we added a safe large enough for your valuables and laptop or cameras. Simply set your own code.

We chose to buy at Kauhale Makai for so many reasons! The views are incredible, the complex is extremely well kept.
Kauhale Makai is located in the area of Kihei that is not "hustle and bustle". It's quiet, old Hawaiian ambiance is perfect.
There is a resident property manager onsite, lobby with concierge for guest services, oceanfront with uncrowded beach, views from all living areas, including the bedroom, I could go on and on!

Alex and I live and work in beautiful San Diego.
Alex works in the restaurant industry as a bartender and I work for my families school photography company.
We have one daughter and she and her husband have blessed us with two beautiful grandchildren.
Our other loves are our two Springer Spaniels, Oliver and Lucy. They keep us very active and on our toes! VERY high energy!
Alex enjoys surfing and running. Each year he runs in the La Jolla Half Marathon. I love walking and currently participate annually in the Susan G. Komen 3Day for the Cure 60 mile walk.

I’ve visited Maui many times before; Village by the Sea is my favourite place to stay. Its location is close to everything, yet far enough away from all the congestion in south Kihei. The complex is child friendly and very well maintained. The great gas bbqs and the socializing that happens over cooking dinner is one of my highlights. The photos of the unit are very accurate and the unit has everything you need. I’ve seen many other units in the building and one thing that set this suite apart from other one bedroom suites is the door separating the bathroom from the bedroom. The bathroom in many other one bedroom suites is through the bedroom. The extra privacy is a bonus if someone is staying on the sofa bed. The garden/ocean/pool view from the lanai is terrific. Mary was so friendly, responsive and easy to deal with. I would definitely stay here again.

If you are looking for a vacation destination set in paradise where you will still feel like you are at home, this is where you must stay. From the moment you walk in to this cozy, warm, inviting condo you will feel welcomed. The furnishing's are beautiful and the condo is well equipped with everything you would need or want during your stay. We used the rice cooker in the kitchen often, the BBQ grills in the common area and the beach umbrella's, chairs and coolers everyday! The location of this condo can't be beat. You are located in a place where no matter what direction you decide to head, you are in for a day of beautiful scenery and wonderful adventure. If your not sure what adventure's you are looking for, the travel desk in the lobby is more then helpful with suggestions and tips. We used them a couple of times and were so happy. WE WILL BE BACK!

This was my first VRBO rental ever - and what a pleasurable experience it was. First, dealing with Mary (the owner) was fantastic. She communicated quickly and thoroughly, was always friendly and accommodating. I was totally impressed before the transaction was even finalized. The condo was just as described. Great view, easy access, and we loved the location - close to everything. We traveled with our 2 year old and found everything safe and comfortable for her too. No bathtub - but a big shower with a bench seat worked fine. And the kitchen had everything we needed too. As a family, eating in is much easier - and I was pleased to find an array of spices and condiments available for our use. We added to the assortment. Finally, check in and out was easy - and our required deposit was refunded in less than a week - wow is Mary on the ball with this stuff. A note to other travelers about the location itself - it has a knowledgeable and helpful concierge available (we used her to book a luau and snorkeling trip), but better prices can be found than what she offers! Check "This Week in Maui" and other free magazine kiosks.

This condo is amazing! The owner is so great and helpful... everytime I had a question about anything she emailed me right back.. Everything you could possibly need, or want is already there!! Everything to the hangers in the closet, to the dishwasher tablets, and the hair dryer and iron, to the ice trays already filled, to the fresh bar of soap and the couple extra rolls of tp! It is spotless, updated, beautifully furnished and decorated! There are books to read, movies to watch, and brochures for local places. You just never know when you rent a condo what will be there and what wont.. this one has everything!! All of the pictures are accurate, the view is amazing. The complex grounds are meticulously cared for, you will never see a dead plant or piece of garbage anywhere. We had such an amazing vacation, I will be heartbroken if when we return in a couple of years, this unit is booked or if they stop renting it!! I would recommend this unit to anyone, especially to friends or family!!

This place is exactly as listed. The owners were very helpfull and easy to rent from. I was nervous about using VRBO but we had no issues at all. The bed was very comfortable and the condo was quiet. It is in a good central location so it is easy to take a day trip anywhere on the island. My favorite part about staying here instead of a hotel is all the extras. They had coolers and beach towels that we couldn't have done without. We will definatly stay here again if we return to Maui.

It was the perfect base to explore the island you love. Mahalo too for the beach towels, we put them to good use at Ulua and Mokapu and the pool too. We'll take home many great memories of Maui's Aloha spirit!

Mary, My wife and I have safely returned home from Maui. We enjoyed our stay at your condo very much. It was a great location for us to explore the entire island. It was easy to tell that you take great pride and care of your Maui home. We really appreciated the small extras too... the use of your beach "gear", the safe in the bedroom and even the travel books... especially the one with all of the different hiking trails. We can not think of anything more that you could have possibly done to make our stay any more enjoyable. Your accommodations rank as the best and most comfortable by far in comparison to other rentals we have stayed in. The island and our entire trip was amazing and I know we will reflect back on how wonderful of an experience it was for years to come. Thanks, Joe
