I’ve visited Maui many times before; Village by the Sea is my favourite place to stay. Its location is close to everything, yet far enough away from all the congestion in south Kihei. The complex is child friendly and very well maintained. The great gas bbqs and the socializing that happens over cooking dinner is one of my highlights. The photos of the unit are very accurate and the unit has everything you need. I’ve seen many other units in the building and one thing that set this suite apart from other one bedroom suites is the door separating the bathroom from the bedroom. The bathroom in many other one bedroom suites is through the bedroom. The extra privacy is a bonus if someone is staying on the sofa bed. The garden/ocean/pool view from the lanai is terrific. Mary was so friendly, responsive and easy to deal with. I would definitely stay here again.

This was my first VRBO rental ever - and what a pleasurable experience it was. First, dealing with Mary (the owner) was fantastic. She communicated quickly and thoroughly, was always friendly and accommodating. I was totally impressed before the transaction was even finalized. The condo was just as described. Great view, easy access, and we loved the location - close to everything. We traveled with our 2 year old and found everything safe and comfortable for her too. No bathtub - but a big shower with a bench seat worked fine. And the kitchen had everything we needed too. As a family, eating in is much easier - and I was pleased to find an array of spices and condiments available for our use. We added to the assortment. Finally, check in and out was easy - and our required deposit was refunded in less than a week - wow is Mary on the ball with this stuff. A note to other travelers about the location itself - it has a knowledgeable and helpful concierge available (we used her to book a luau and snorkeling trip), but better prices can be found than what she offers! Check "This Week in Maui" and other free magazine kiosks.

October 2011 trip

This condo is amazing! The owner is so great and helpful... everytime I had a question about anything she emailed me right back.. Everything you could possibly need, or want is already there!! Everything to the hangers in the closet, to the dishwasher tablets, and the hair dryer and iron, to the ice trays already filled, to the fresh bar of soap and the couple extra rolls of tp! It is spotless, updated, beautifully furnished and decorated! There are books to read, movies to watch, and brochures for local places. You just never know when you rent a condo what will be there and what wont.. this one has everything!! All of the pictures are accurate, the view is amazing. The complex grounds are meticulously cared for, you will never see a dead plant or piece of garbage anywhere. We had such an amazing vacation, I will be heartbroken if when we return in a couple of years, this unit is booked or if they stop renting it!! I would recommend this unit to anyone, especially to friends or family!!

Home away from home

If you are looking for a vacation destination set in paradise where you will still feel like you are at home, this is where you must stay. From the moment you walk in to this cozy, warm, inviting condo you will feel welcomed. The furnishing's are beautiful and the condo is well equipped with everything you would need or want during your stay. We used the rice cooker in the kitchen often, the BBQ grills in the common area and the beach umbrella's, chairs and coolers everyday! The location of this condo can't be beat. You are located in a place where no matter what direction you decide to head, you are in for a day of beautiful scenery and wonderful adventure. If your not sure what adventure's you are looking for, the travel desk in the lobby is more then helpful with suggestions and tips. We used them a couple of times and were so happy. WE WILL BE BACK!

Great Place to Stay for Honeymoon!

This place is exactly as listed. The owners were very helpfull and easy to rent from. I was nervous about using VRBO but we had no issues at all. The bed was very comfortable and the condo was quiet. It is in a good central location so it is easy to take a day trip anywhere on the island. My favorite part about staying here instead of a hotel is all the extras. They had coolers and beach towels that we couldn't have done without. We will definatly stay here again if we return to Maui.

We rented several condos for a family event and this one is the one we chose for our Daughter and her family. I cannot say enough how nice this unit was. Mary, My wife and I have safely returned home from Maui. We enjoyed our stay at your condo very much. It was a great location for us to explore the entire island. It was easy to tell that you take great pride and care of your Maui home. We really appreciated the small extras too... the use of your beach "gear", the safe in the bedroom and even the travel books... especially the one with all of the different hiking trails. We can not think of anything more that you could have possibly done to make our stay any more enjoyable. Your accommodations rank as the best and most comfortable by far in comparison to other rentals we have stayed in. Beautiful condo with wonderful decor, art work, amenities, etc. We were able to barbecue every night and ate at sunset. The view from the lanai is awesome especilly with a cup of Kona coffee during day-break. I have been to Maui 7 times and yur view is the best and brand new barbecues as well. We enjoyed the grounds and the great sounds of the birds. Friendly people around pool and hot tub. Great atmosphere. We look forward to coming back.
