Pied à Paris is a comfortable first-floor apartment (one flight up) situated in a 19th-century, Haussmann-style stone building with wrought-iron grillwork. The living room overlooks the narrow rue de l'Abbé Grégoire, while two bedrooms overlook a quiet courtyard. In excellent condition, the apartment has a recently renovated kitchen, remodelled bath, and restored original oak hardwood floors.
The apartment is laid out in two areas separated by a hallway.
At one end of the hall, the entry opens onto a living room, which features two bright French windows, lovely crown molding, and a fireplace with marble mantelpiece. The fireplace is decorative: fires are not permitted.
Furnishings in this area include a sofa & armchair, occasional tables, a small chest of drawers, and a desk with computer & Internet access via cable modem. A bookshelf holds a modest library of guidebooks, books in English of French history, literature & culture, French/English dictionaries, and current popular fiction choices contributed by our guests.
The dining table has four chairs and expands to seat six using other chairs stored in the apartment. Also in the living room are cable TV, DVD player, and stereo CD player/radio.
The hallway leads to the bedrooms, kitchen, toilet, and bath.
The master bedroom is furnished with a double-size bed & night table, a large armoire, a linen closet, and a chair with a reading lamp & small table by the window.
A second, small bedroom has a bunk bed & small cupboard.
The kitchen is equipped with a gas cook-top, electric oven, microwave/grill, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Appliances include a coffeemaker & toaster oven. Basic food preparation equipment and table service for six are provided.
The completely remodelled bathroom is accessible through the master bedroom and includes a shower cabinet, washbasin, and a small washer/dryer. There are also an iron, ironing board, and hairdryer in the apartment. Blankets, bed linen, and towels are provided by our mangement service. The toilet, in the French custom, is in a separate room off the corridor. This room has a new tile floor, new commode & new coat of paint.
Pied à Paris is located in one of the most desirable residential neighborhoods in central Paris. The rue de l'Abbé Grégoire is a quiet street that connects the rue de Sèvres to the rue de Vaugirard. The neighborhood is genuinely Parisian, with many shops, parks, and services nearby.
Whether you seek boutique fashions, antiques & gems, or pastry, cheese & charcuterie, it is all available within a short walk. There are bistros, fine restaurants, and specialty food shops for every taste & budget.
A quiet park with children's playground is three blocks away. The rue de Vaugirard leads directly to the Luxembourg Gardens, where the French enjoy the sun & read, play bocce or chess under the trees, stroll among the sculptures, and sail model boats in the fountain. The cultural attractions of central Paris are all within walking distance.

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 6
We chose the apartment for its central location in this most fascinating city. Convenient to Métro, rail, and bus lines, it is also within walking distance of top Paris attractions, including monuments, museums, gardens and parks, shopping, dining, and entertainment. It's an ideal spot from which to profit from all Paris has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
La Grande Epicerie de Paris, a gastronomic grocery, is 50 yards from the front door of the apartment. Whether you prefer high-quality catered dishes or choosing foods to prepare yourself, there are many alternatives in the neighborhood to eating every meal in a restaurant.
Le Bon Marché, one of the "grands magazins" (top department stores), is a block away. Marie Quatrehomme sells cheese from a sparking clean shop on the rue de Sèvres. There is good bread, good wine, good charcuterie and pastry to be found by exploring the neighborhood.

The apartment was absolutely beautiful and the location excellent. So glad we chose this apartment! The views are just as good as they appear in the photos (if not better!). Marie-Noel was wating for us at the apartment and showed us everyting. I walked every morning across the street to "la grande epicerie" for a "baguette", cheese, ham etc. for breakfast. The bus is just around the corner and brings you to a lot of nice places, the metro is only 3 minutes away, but we prefered the bus, you can see a lot of the beautiful buildings then! Most of the time with took a bus to the place we wanted to visit and walked back to the apartment. I think we walked more than 8 miles a day. The Eifeltower is only 20 minutes on foot. There is more than enough kitchen equipment , towels etc. The p.c. and printer were very easy to use. There is also a dvd-player and a lot of books about Paris. The home is very pleasant, after a long day of walking around. We felt like real Parisians. The beds were excellent. We stayed before in apartments in Paris, but this was the best, a gem! Thank you for a wonderful Paris stay! Margret en Netty from Holland

A wonderful Apartment in the heart of the City. Great shopping (Le Bon Marche) and groceries as well as cafes and restaurants nearby. Walking distance to Luxembourg Gardens, Metro & Buses. Apartment is very charming and the beds were extremely comfortable. Our 2 daughters loved the bunk beds. The photo of the apartment are exact. Great breezeway in the corridor when the 5 foot high windows are opened. I would highly recommend this apartment! We will certainly book it again for our next visit to Paris in a few years.

Better than ever imagined! Totallly felt at home and didn't want to leave. Charming, immaculate apartment, with everything to make our stay comfortable including a great selection of books, CDs and even a few DVD's for those nights we were too exhausted to go out! Kitchen was fabulous and fully equipped, bed super comfortable and the shower was large with plenty of hot water. Also appreciated having a washer/dryer and a computer for our use. Location can't be beat. Only steps from Bon Marche's famous food market, restaurants, shops, the metro and buses. Easy walks to Luxemborg Gardens and other famous sites. Many thanks to our Parisian host, Marie Noel....she was so helpful throughout our whole stay and made sure we were taken care of! We can hardly wait to go back!

We have stayed twice at the apartment on Rue Abbe De Gregoire and it is wonderful. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The locations is perfect, in a real neighborhood. The apartment was exactly as described and it is a real gem. We have now spent four weeks in the apartment and will stay there again at some point.

We stayed in this property for two weeks at the end of October and beginning of November. It could not be better located, across the street from the Grand Epicerie and Bon Marche, less than 5 minutes from Carrefour and easy walking to all of central Paris. If anything, the apartment is even more charming than the pictures on the website, giving you the sense of being a Parisian at home. You could enjoy your living room, gazing out of the huge windows, the kitchen and bathroom, while compact are up-to-date and very clean. If it would not be so unfair, I would love to keep this little gem a secret.
