Venice apartment description
Italy Perfect Winner of Trip Advisor-FlipKey's Award of Excellence 2011, 2012, 2013. Conde Nast Traveler Expert Specialist. Travel & Leisure Magazine Italy All-Star 2013. BBB A+
Welcome to a light-filled apartment overlooking a small canal with a view also of the Grand Canal of Venice. The Dorsoduro neighborhood is central Venice but away from the throngs of visitors around famous places like St Mark's piazza.
Two large windows and French doors in the living/dining room bring in lots of light. A small balcony is up two steps; it overlooks Ca' Rezzonico palace, a small canal and across the neighboring rooftop, the Grand Canal.
Enjoy your private view of the Ca' Rezzonico palace with its collection of sculpted heads above and below each window. The daily rhythm of the city can be traced by the sights and sounds of Venice observed from your apartment. Church bells across the city toll the daylight hours. A few boats pass below your balcony and windows, their type changes with the time of the day.
An L-shaped sofa is a comfy spot and can easily seat three. The sofa opens to form a double sized bed. Truly beautiful woods are featured in the parquet floor, bookshelves and dining table. A flat-panel TV with satellite reception brings in a few English-language stations.
The kitchen and bedroom are down six steps from the living/dining room. Small but efficient, the kitchen really has everything you need for real cooking, if you wish. Four burner gas stove, oven, under-counter refrigerator with small freezer compartment, dishwasher and washing machine. There is an Italian coffee maker and a French press. The pots and pans are plentiful as well as cooking utensils. Dishes and serving pieces are in an armoire near the dining table.
The bedroom and the kitchen are under the eves. The ceiling on the far side of the bed is almost 6 feet. The bed consists of joined single beds, so slightly wider than a North American queen. At the far side, there are built in closets. Also in the bedroom is an armoire and a small desk. A sky light can be opened/closed and a sliding panel can eliminate sunlight.
Across the living room from the kitchen/bedroom steps is a large bathroom. The large window has the usual palace view. There is a large tub with shower, toilet, bidet and sink. The drying rack for laundry and iron and ironing board are also stowed here.
The Dorsoduro neighborhood is real Venice. Sure, plenty of tourists as there have been for millenia, but also all the locals who shop for their veggies around the corner at the greengrocer's boat docked at the Campo San Barnaba, sip their beverages in the Bar Ai Artisti in the Campo and buy their groceries at the Billa market with its views across the Giudecca canal. Wonderful is the slight separation from the really busy San Marco and Castello districts but they are still in easy reach. You can cross the Grand Canal at the end of the calle (walking street) on the traghetto (ferry) or walk 5 minutes one way to the Accademia bridge or 10 minutes the other direction to the Rialto bridge. Riding the water-busses is easy, one stops at the same place as the traghetto, Ca' Rezzonico, or the walk to the Piazzale Roma for a car park or the train station takes only 15 minutes.

This was the perfect spot to explore Venice and the apartment is bigger and nicer than appears in the photos. The apartment is well equipped with all you would need for an extended stay. Although the water taxi stop is less than 5 minutes walk to the apartment and very convenient getting from and to the airport, we found walking and exploring most of Venice wonderful and very doable. We used the water taxi for a day trip to Murano. Our host was very helpful and directions as to use of the apartment and local interest was much appreciated. I would recommend this apartment to all. Thank you

Balcony with a view
We have rented many apartments in Italy but this was our first time with Italy Perfect. By far they were the easiest to work with. Follow their instructions and you will have no problems. The Marino apartment is in a great location in Venice. Grand Canal view and there is another canal view. The balcony is wonderful. The layout is quirky but the bathroom and living space are large. Very nice. The bedroom had no windows, just a skylight that you needed a ladder to access. We were told it was heavy to open and expensive if it broke. There were fans. It was OK but I felt like I was in a boat stateroom. The kitchen was functional. Hot water was no problem and no problems with electricity. Having a washing machine was very helpful. There is an elevator in the building which helps with luggage and groceries. A few notes are the apartment is on the #1 vaparroto line which is the slowest through Venice. We would go to Accademia and pick up the #2 which is a lot faster, but limited stops. Evelyn was our greeter and very nice She met us and gave us a tour through the apartment. Be sure before you call Evelyn to meet you, you will be there at the exact time that was communicated. I would recommend Italy Perfect especially if it is your first time because they are so thorough and very easy to work with.

Excellent choiceGuest comment entered by owner
Overall we found the Marino apartment to be an excellent choice. Our greeter met us the Vaporetto and walked us to the apartment only a few short steps away. She was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The location and surrounding area was perfect. Walking distance to St. Marks, Rialto Bridge and plenty of great restaurants nearby. I would recommend Italy Perfect to anyone looking for a great place to stay while in Venice.

Wonderful apartmentGuest comment entered by owner
Our best stay in Venice, ever! Wonderful apartment, excellent location (right around the corner from the vaporetto stop), great neighborhood, helpful personal assistance and terrific suggestions for places to eat. All of these qualities added up to making this our favorite visit to one of our favorite cities in the world.

Lovely and bright
We had a wonderful week at Marino and already look forward to returning again. The flat is lovely - comfortable, bright, and terrifically located. And Evelyn's assistance contributed to our enjoyment. I will be in contact next time we visit Italy.

A perfect apartment for attending la Biennale 2013Guest comment entered by owner
A perfect apartment for attending la Biennale 2013
We came to Venice to see la Biennale Art Festival and Marino is located in a perfect neighborhood away from the crowds and noise. The apartment is beautifully appointed in a secure building. We felt very safe there. After a long, exhausting day of visiting the Biennale sites we came back to our neighborhood and had dinner in some of the wonderful little restaurants near Marino. Our very favorites are: al Vecio Marangon (very friendly, specializing in small plates);Ai Artisti (a little gem specializing in fish); La Bitta; Do Farai. We enjoyed having breakfast in the apartment as it was very easy to get what was needed at the supermarket & fruit & veggie barge nearby. Cappucino can be purchased at the Campo Barnaba a few steps down the block. The kitchen is quite small and not conducive to cooking anything elaborate. We also found the bedroom to be quite small & stuffy so we slept on the sofa in the living room which was very comfortable and worked out well in terms of access to the bathroom (from the bedroom there are 4 steps up then across the LR to the bathroom). Our greeter told us to use the AC to circulate air into the bedroom but we were also informed we would have to pay an additional charge if we exceeded the allotted electricity allowance. Italy Perfect is first class in terms of attention to detail and our greeter provided all the information we needed to acclimate to the apartment & neighborhood. We did love the apartment very much-it met our needs in every way. We would definitely recommend Italy Perfect to friends and have already done so.

A great stay
We loved staying in this apartment for a week. The living room is very comfortable with a good sofa and interesting books. The furniture is all very tasteful and real, not IKEA as in some vacation rentals. The little terrace is a perfect place to have a coffee or cocktail and watch the traffic on the Grand Canal. We look forward to staying here again.

Great location and service!
???? The apartment is in an amazing location just steps from the vaporetto stop! It had everything I needed, AC and an american style coffee maker :). I was in Venice to visit the Biennale and the greeter was amazing in helping me find my bearings. She even texted me when she found out about a free entrance promotion at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, which was a blast. The Campo San Baraba is right around the corner and is a great place to have a relaxing dinner and people-watch; and just over the bridge from San Barnaba is the lively Campo Santa Margherita, full of bars, restaurants and young people mingling. TIP: If you are going to be in Venice for a few days and plan on seeing sights, get yourself a multi-day pass for the vaporetto, because it is so easy to get to and from the apartment.

We loved our stay hereGuest comment entered by owner
We loved our stay here
We stayed in the Marino apartment, Venice for 6 days in April. We loved our stay here: the location so near the Ca Rezzonico vaporetto stop was outstanding. It is quite accessible to the tourist sites yet in a relatively relatively quiet area.. The layout of the apartment though quirky, was as explained in the the website and not unexpected for Venice. It worked well, especially the large living room where we were able to enjoy many candlelit dinners. The kitchen, though compact is very workable. All appliances are modern and work efficiently. The beds including the sofa bed is comfortable and the bedding and linen very adequate. We enjoyed walking in the nearby piazzas Santa Barnaba and Santa f, having an evening drink and watching the passagiata. We haunted the fruit barge, especially for magnificent strawberries. There are excellent shops here, for example GROM for gelati and signor Blum for beautiful artisan toys. We would heartily recommend Italy Perfect to anyone looking for a quality apartment in Venice. We always received prompt and helpful replies to any queries and we were able to add two guests with no fuss at all. The material provided on Venice was extremely helpful and much appreciated. Evelyn our greeter was also excellent giving us some very useful tips when we arrived.

10 out of 10Guest comment entered by owner
10 out of 10
Would like to say to all that our visit in Venice was definitely made more enjoyable by the great accommodations. Always being hesitant about what is on the internet and what is reality, it certainly was pleasant to have everything as shown or stated. From first being met by Evelyn, on time I may add, to the actual apartment including and importantly the cleanliness fully exceeding our expectations. Nothing but a 10 out of 10 on our scale which we consider to be the most important and not an easy accomplishment. The convenient apartment location with the boat stop made getting to and from the airport and the great sites in Venice truly enjoyable and hassle free. Evelyn’s initial help in advising what is in the immediate vicinity of the apartment allowed us to get set up with the essentials and then settle into a most wonderful time. Although not our first vacation time in Venice it surely was the best. Already planning our next trip and will include Italy Perfect in those plans as a known entity that we can fully trust.
