This was our second stay at Jeanne and Bob's Lake Toxaway cottage, and we had another wonderful, relaxing week. We slept like babies on the most comfortable mattresses ever, cruised the lake to fish and enjoy the fall foliage, and ate dinner at the Brown Trout Grille. The cottage was clean and inviting, and Jeanne and Bob are very attentive owners. We'll be back in 2013. Eric and Laurie

My husband and I rented and spent three relaxing days in this lakefront home after our wedding in Asheville on October 6th. We called this special time our mini moon because we will be traveling out of the country later this year, and just wanted a few days to relax and enjoy being together without interruptions after our wedding. We live in Asheville and it was so nice to be able to go somewhere close to home, but oh so pretty. We cooked meals, went on an epic fall hike in Panthertown Valley, and spent time on the boat. The home is so cozy with a great fireplace indoors as well as a fire circle right on the lake. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for fun in the mountains, relaxation and spending time with those you love.

Pictures on the website don't do justice to the house--- After a 13.5 hour drive from f Florida on Sat, we were ecstatic to fall into your beautiful home and enjoy it and the view!.....A wonderful time had by all!

Your house was perfect in every way,both for us as a couple and when the kids joined us after camp. We could ask for nothing more to make our vacation any better. The weather was amazing, the hikes the best we've ever been on, and we loved the local music at Lake Toxaway Community Center on Friday night. Thaks for Everything! L&D Berkley, CA

Six years and counting...and as usual, the week at your lovely home has been the highlight of our year! Hours spent fishing...hiking...reading...swimming...and napping have left us rested and relaxed...much better prepared to return to the hustle and bustle of daily life. The house looked great...fresh paint and new porch furinture a lovely surprise. The yard was looking as pretty as ever..truly one of the prettiest years ever! Thank you for thinking of all of the little things...the small appointments that make it feel like such a welcoming home. We are already counting down the days until next year! It has been a lovely week at Lake Toxaway. We had so much fun fishing, swimming, tubing, hiking, and boating. Your house abd location on this lake is so wonderful. the mountains are beautiful and the water is great! It is such a nice place to spend time and relax. We've had a great time. Thanks Again! I can't say enough positive things about Jeanne and Bob--and their wonderful home. This is our second year to stay here. This year we stayed for 2 weeks--& it still wasn't long enough. Our grown children talk about their experiences here all year long. They plan ahead so they can be with us. The home is wonderfully equipped, the beds are very comfortable, having the boat is a complete luxury. We enjoyed the fire pit and swimming off the dock. The house is well maintained. Both Jeanne and Bob are extremely responsive to any request--no matter how small they provide resources & resolutions. We're hoping to return next summer for 2 weeks--wish we could spend the summer there. The water is gorgeous.

Although some rain kept us from the boat we thouroughly enjoyed our week in your home. You provide all of the comforts of home!! When the weather broke, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the fire at night,with smores down by the lake. Heaven on Earth

This rental really is a slice of heaven on Earth! We spent five glorious days at this cottage and had a very enjoyable vacation, one of our best ever! The house is charming, welcoming, very clean and well-decorated. Jeanne and Bob have thought of everything, from the extremely comfortable mattresses, high quality bedding, and right down to the cookware in the kitchen. Just bring your food, toothbrushes, and shampoo! Oh, and your fishing rods, too! The cove around the corner to the left, aptly called "Walleye Cove", has some of the best fishing on the lake. We caught large mouth bass, walleye and crappies in the cove on live bait, and spent our days cruising the lake and fishing. If you decide you don't want to cook, we recommend The Brown Trout. We ate there once, and did take out twice. In addition to the fish, chicken and red meat, they have great pizza and a kids menu. Jeanne and Bob were very helpful and responsive to our calls and questions, and really take pride in their home, and it shows! We will definitely be back.

My husband and I wanted a nice, relaxing, vacation at a Western NC lake, and we had the best vacation ever! Jeanne and Bob greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the house, answering any questions we had. Bob then took my husband for a spin on the lake in the boat, to make sure my husband knew how to safely operate the boat. The house is charming and beautifully decorated. The sheets, mattresses, pillows and towels are high quality. We slept like babies! The kitchen is well appointed with what you'll need to cook meals. The lake is right at your back door, just about 25 feet down a gently sloping lawn, and the scenery is incredible. We'd sit on the porch or deck with our morning coffee, watch the squirrels (there is a white squirrel who visited daily) and birds feed from the bird feeder, and look out on the lake. If you like to fish, the fishing is great. We caught large mouth bass, walleye and crappies. There is a great fishing cove, called "Walleye Cove" just around the corner to the left, where we caught the "big" ones, using night crawlers. Jeanne and Bob take great care of their home, are very responsive if you call with questions, and helped to make this best vacation rental experience we've ever had. We will definitely be back! The Perfect Escape

The cottage, the lake, the mountains, the weather...all made for a wonderful getaway. The cottage was just perfect for our family getaway...the kids all had such fun swimming, fishing, hiking, watching the hummingbirds, nightly 'smores, meeting new friends, and even watching a snapping turtle! Jeanne was so helpful with all our questions and her information on the area made for some fun outings! We can't wait to return!

The lake house is perfect for a laid back/casual vacation in the mountains. It had everything we needed including great weather when we visited in June 2011. Owners Bob and Jean are fantastic and didn't overlook a single detail including fresh cut flowers upon arrival. Kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed. Gas grill, fire pit, and the deck boat topped off everything we needed for a ton of fun with the kids. We'll be back!

05-Once again we have had a wonderful trip to our favorite getaway! 7/06 WE thoroughly enjoyed the lake-tubing,swimming,sightseeing,fishing and just relaxing. The kids loved every moment ans so did we. ..Brevard has great downtown area...Each child caught more than 15 fish...Prize was a 5lb bass off the boat dock...Time to book another week for next summer!

The lake setting was breathtaking and the chalet was first class and fully equipped for a comfortable stay. The only thing better than sitting on the deck on a sunny day was lying out in the tree hammock. There was lots of antiquing and interesting drives to picturesque historic towns. It was a great vacation and I hope to return soon.

We stayed in this property and never wanted to leave. The chalet is very comfortable, it has a lovely screened lanai and large outside deck, all directly overlooking the lake. There's a dock right out front & taking out the pontoon boat for rides, tubing or fishing was our favorite thing to do. The mountains are beautiful - lots of trails and waterfalls nearby - shopping and great restaurants too, if you don't feel like cooking. It was our best vacation & I can't wait to return.
