We rented this Chalet for a weekend away with our family and friends. The open concept was perfect for all of us to spend time together with two fire places on either side and plenty of wood to burn. All of our guest loved the house. The best part is definitely the Jacuzzi! We will be back this winter.

I have stayed there with my family several times. I love it there and the place is great for getting away from it all and/or gathering a bunch of friends/family together. It is very roomy, airy, clean and open. The fireplaces are very relaxing as you sit in comfort looking out at the great views. The owner provides tons of firewood. The rental agent is easy to contact and works with you. Killington is the essence of Vermont and this house reflects that. Love the lofts! Spilling wine on a carpet (saying it's a cheap carpet is a "cheap" shot) is something that happens to the best of us. Having to replace a carpet is expensive for the owner so you have to expect consequences. Grow up folks.
Owner response:I am not sure which guest wrote this but I honestly can not thank you enough. This means a lot to my wife and I. It makes us so happy you enjoy our home and I agree with everything said in your review about the upset group. I want every reader of this review to know this was an honest unsolicited review and I wanted to thank the writer again!

Our group of eleven spent the week before Christmas here. The price was more than reasonable, considering it was peak season. The roomy place, up a flight of stairs and surrounded by a large covered deck, handled us all beautifully. Though not plush, the accommodations are perfectly acceptable and comfortable. It was nice having the family room with fireplace in addition to the large living room, as it gave the adults a place to relax while the kids were watching sports on TV or playing foosball (or indoor nerf basketball ~ I mentioned large, didn't I?)). The 2 downstairs paneled bedrooms are nice and cozy and the downstairs bath is big and looked recently redone. The upstairs bedrooms are under the eaves, but our kids were perfectly happy. (We are not an overly fussy group!) They have a bath upstairs as well. The sleeping loft above the living room was a favorite hangout for the teenagers, and, of course, the jacuzzi was a huge hit. We really enjoyed our time here and I would recommend it to anyone (as long as there were no mobility issues). Jeremy installed a new carpet prior to our arrival and was very easy to work with. We want to go back next year, which is the most telling statement in this review.

I wanted to write in response to the poor review we received. This group wrote this because they were mad we deducted their security deposit for spilling 2 glasses of wine in the middle of our carpet. They admitted to the spill and were quite malicious, aggressive and harrassing when I told them they would have to pay for it. I am not in the business of keep security deposit. We have many returning guests who love the home and some who have stayed every year since we bought the house in 2004. We improve the property every year and really care about our guests experience. We know you will find our home a better quality than most in its price range and we hope you will keep enjoying the home year after year. Jeremy McElwain...proud owner

A large group of friends and I stayed at this house over MLK weekend and it was perfect! We loved the huge living rooms, fire place, and there was tons of open space for everyone to hang out in. Not to mention an awesome hot tub out back. The location is ideal for those looking to get to the ski slopes easily (about a five minute drive) and also want to head to the bars at night (easy to get a shuttle for just $5 a person, quick ride). The house had a very home-y and cozy feel but also happened to be huge- just what we needed. The owner was extremely easy to work with and was able to answer any questions we had while up there. I fully recommend this house and hope to return next winter!
Owner response:I feel honored that we got such a great review and this is the experience my wife and I want every guest to have!!!

Rented the house for a group of 17 people. For the last 10 years we celebrate Thanksgiving in Vermont. First of all we sent request to listing 94002, and believed we rented it. It turned out that actual rented property is 86053. As we were told by VRBO, as there is no way for us to see actual property address. Even one of the pictures is the same in both listings. Out of 17 guest only 11 could sleep in beds. The rest were sleeping in sleeping bags, on inflatable mattresses or a coach in leaving room. The furniture is old and cheesy. 30% of the lamps were burned out. There were not enough dishes. Jacuzzi had 70% of water in it and started to smell on the 3rd day. When we arrived Internet didn't work. We had to spend some time with tech support. One of fireplaces didn't function. We found it hard way, when smoke went into the house (went was open). All these notes were sent to the manager, but not as a complain (we had a great time anyway), but as something that could improve other peoples experience. What was really upsetting, that 4 days later when property manager was reminded to return security deposit, he refused to do so, motivating it by a wine spot found on a cheap carpet. And all this is after paying optional cleaning fee.
