We stayed at the Ridgeview townhouse this past weekend (Feb 2012) and it was a great getaway. The townhouse is very neat and clean (and we are picky!) and the layout and furniture made for a very relaxing stay. The location is great - under 5 minutes to the mountain - under 10 minutes to the waterpark. My kids (3 and 6 yrs old) loved the movie collection (and watched several of them) and could not get enough of the air hockey. We will definitely be back for another visit.

Wonderful stay...

We rented the townhouse on a whim and were very pleased. We had never used the vrbo web site. Everything in the house was very clean and comfortable. We especially liked that nothing felt like a rental - furniture was solid, beds were wonderful, linens were great, plenty of practical kitchen items and more. A full size washer and dryer were well appreciated.The townhouse was very quiet - you could not hear neighbors when inside. We emailed the owners about the property and also called when we had questions on the day we were supposed to leave for the mountains. They were very helpful and patient with us. The house does sit on a steep driveway but we were able to negotiate our very low lying sports car without trouble. Our full size van had trouble with the driveway angle and the trailer hitch so we opted to park in front of the townhouse at the bottom of the driveway - our choice. It was a very nice long weekend. The kids were thrilled with the video games, air hockey, movies and being in the mountains. We liked the binder full of pamphlets of local restaurants/shops/etc. (would have been nice updated) and visited restaurants we had not tried in the past. We did not use the pool for the owners (spent our time at the waterpark) but it was nice to have the pass if we wanted to go for a swim. The house itself may be difficult for someone with any mobility issues - it is 3 levels - but not cluttered so would be easy to negotiate once inside. Thanks for offering your house for rent. Would love to stay there again.

Spacious Town Home In Gated Community, But Watch Out For the Deer

I can't say enough positive things about my transaction and visit to this property. I contacted the Hellier's in regards to their rental property via email and they were very accommodating. The pictures did not do this rental any justice. We walked into the ground level that had air hockey, TV, game system, and family friendly videotapes (my arm still hurts from playing several rounds of air hockey). The second level housed the kitchen, living room, and deck with gas grill which came in handy when my family began to crave grilled hot dogs. The upperlevel had three spacious bedrooms and there were plenty of bathrooms throughout the property. I was amazed at how clean and well kept the home was, including the bright white towels. I also liked the fact there was a Food Lion within a 10 minute drive and the winter sports were in walking distance. Although one roll of toilet tissue would be great for those of us who forget, it was outlined in the contract we would have to provide those essentials. Overall, it was a great stay and I would defiantly rent this property again!

An excellent place to stay in Massanutten Resort

We had great time this Memorial weekend. The skyland drive, the trails, and of course, the clean, comfortable town house makes you feel just like at home. Plus the convenience location for any activities you want in Shenandoah. We definitely will come back again.

We are two families that always travel together, we stayed 3 nights at the end of January hoping for a wonderful first-timers experience in the snow. We were so lucky we even got hit with 8 inches of snow during our stay. This property was modern, clean, & very well equipped, They have it so cozy you actually feel like you are home. The nice thick mattresses were a plus. We were a total 8, 4 adults 2 teenagers, and 2 pre-teens, with so many baths and half baths, and so much space we never felt cramped. The laundry room was very convenient it was so large and the hooks were great to hang up all of our ski gear for the next day.We had a great time skiing and tubing. The employees at the ski lodge/equipt. rental, general store were all very helpful. Ben was always available with any questions I had, Since we're from Florida we're not used to driving in the snow but we were so lucky even the neighbors were great, they helped us shovel the snow from the driveway so we would not miss our flights back home. Overall this vacation was excellent i would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the Massanutten area. Our first vacation in the snow was priceless, thanks again Ben & Cathy.

Great Place!

We spent 4 wonderful days at this house on October 2009 with our 3 kids. The house is so nice, very cosy, tastefully decorated and very well maintained. The resort around is also very nice and offers many activities all around the year. The owners are very responsive to asist with any quiery. In short -the "Ridge View" is the ideal "home away from home" at the Shanandoah valley!

This home has every comfort of your own home and more. Our family had a fantastic weekend and the accommodations added to the enjoyment. There was a water main break in the area during our stay and the owners were very concerned and did a fantastic job of keeping us up to date on the progress. I highly recommend this place and plan to stay here again.

This townhouse is equipped with everything you could ask for! It was very clean, modern and comfortably decorated. I am very particular when it comes to cleanliness and I felt very comfortable here. We were rained out most of our week, but still had a great time. My boys loved the air hockey table and the games and videos were a nice touch. It was even more comfortable than many of the timeshares I've stayed in with amenities they don't provide (like spices in the cupboards). We also enjoyed the water park, the go- cart racing and mini golf on the Massenutten resort. Cathy and Ben were so accommodating and helpful! Would definitely recommend to a friend.

What a beautiful home...warm, cozy, clean and well stocked. Game room was perfect for the kids. We loved being so close to everything...lots to do in Masanutten for families! Communication with owners couldn't have been better or easier. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back again.

We stayed here this past October 2008 for JMU Parent Weekend, when other's were all paying outrageous prices for small hotel rooms. House is very clean, everything in working order, and communication with the owner was exceptional. Would definitely rent here again.

An excellent rental property. We stayed 4 nights/5 days at Christmas. Our family of seven all enjoyed our stay in Ridgeview. Everything was clean and cheerful. The kitchen was well equipped and we all had fun with the movies and air hockey. Having the extra half baths made sharing the living space much more convenient for our extended family. The laundry room was an extra surprise- everything needed to take care of unexpected wet clothes. This room also has racks for storing all our ski/snow gear. the unit is very centally located for all mountain activities. We did some skiing, hiked on the golf course, and splashed in the water park. It was a very successful holiday and I would definitely recommend this property to anyone interested in staying in the Massanutten area.

I recently stayed here with my family and this place was awesome!!! There was nothing the owners didn't think of when setting their home up. We really enjoyed the games, air hockey, and XBox. There was also a wide array of movies to suit every taste. We grilled out twice and enoyed time spent on the deck. We liked being close to Massanutten activities, but loved that there was plenty to fill up downtime at the Townhome. I can't say enough about Ridgeview. It was great and I can't wait to go back!!!

Our family of 8 stayed at Ridgeview for several nights and had a super time. The townhouse is immaculate, an important criteria for me. It's very comfortable, nicely furnished, and we loved having air hockey in the basemt. We would definitely return for another holiday.

We stayed in late June for 7 days with 3 daughers who were 20, 19 and 17. My oldest parked herself in the downstairs playroom with her own TV and sleeper sofa and bathroom. She was in heaven. The wi-fi is free and she had her laptop so she was really all set. We had many dinners on the deck on the second level watching the hawks flying around the Massanutten mountains. It was so great to sit and chat with the kids. At night while the kids went to the waterpark, I would do some of the puzzles and watch DVD's. The kids played with the air hockey several times. You will get a lot of value for the price with this condo. It was exceptionally clean and maintained. The owners provided excellent communication and customer service. They answered any questions we had about the amenities and restaurants around Massanutten. For anyone who is disabled and wondering about access, you would have to be able to walk up 13 steps to get to each level. I am somewhat disabled, but managed to stay here. I would come down from the 3rd level and stay in the second level during the day. I had everything I neded there, a bathroom, kitchen, puzzles, Tv with DVD player and the deck where i could relax and read a book or have a snack. To leave the unit , I would have to walk down the 13 steps, but it was worth it. The bedrooms were spacious and the master bedroom is very large with its own full bathroom. If you are looking to rest, the mattress in the master bedroom was terrific and I slept better than I have in a long time. There was plenty of towels and linens provided as well. We also used the washer and dryer on the last day and went home with clean clothes which was very handy. The unit is also located within 5 minutes of the Massanutten resort where the water park, pool and small store is located. I would definitely recommend this unit for families and couples, you have everything you need provided in the unit and are close to all of the fun activities that are available. If you chose to stay here, take advantage of the information packet they provide in the living room uner the T.V.. It was very helpful in finding restaurants, attractions and even some coupons for the local area. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our condo and would stay again and recommend it for anyone. It is a great deal for the price. Thanks again Ben & Cathy.

Ridgeview was a great place to stay with a group of friends. It was comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated, and contained lots of thoughtful touches like games and DVDs. Massanutten is a nice resort--we enjoyed snow tubing and hiking in the area.

This is a great townhouse! Very clean, lots of room for a family of four, great basement for the kids! Beautiful view from the deck - great for a relaxing dinner. Lots of amenities close by - fantastic water park! Would definitely rent again!

Great townhouse! Everything is new and very clean. Well equipped kitchen and games/dvds for the kids. Very short drive (1-2 minutes) to the ski slopes. Very comfortable stay for us and our two young children. If you are looking for a place to stay in Massanutten this is it!

This is one of the best rental property we have stayed at--new, clean, very comfy beds, great dining/living room. Our kids liked the movies and video game selections and we all liked the air hocky! Perhaps the highest praise is that we had a nice, relaxing vaction even though most of our outdoor plans were washed out by a tropical storm!

We had a wonderful stay at Ridgeview Retreat. Your home is great, everything is so new and clean. We actually hiked part of the ridge that we can see from the deck.
