We loved being here and had such a memorable time. John and Lindsay were engaged in Wiamea Canyon and Reed and I celebrated 39 1/2 years. It is so quiet, like a moment between breaths. Mahalo

We couldn't have found a better house layout or location for our stay in Kauai to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We needed separate beds for 4 adult children who are all tall (twin beds would not have been a good option). The layout with the 2 double beds in the loft was perfect. The boys threw a football in the huge beautiful backyard, ran up the 3-mile round-trip Anini Beach road, and my husband and I took our coffee to the beach in the morning, which is about 3 minutes away. We loved the large dining room table as a gathering place in the evenings; the kitchen was well equiped and we prepared all of our meals there except one lovely dinner at the Postcards Cafe. Except for a trip to Waimea Canyon, we stayed on the east and north side and found plenty of hikes and beaches. Cindy and Ross were very responsive to any questions or issues (minor), and they resolved them right away. A special and thoughtful touch was the bottle of wine as an anniversary gift! I highly recommend this house for a large family or multiple couples.

This home was the perfect setting for our family. We were 5 adults and 1 toddler and absolutely loved our stay at Ka Hale Olu. Cindy and Ross have provided everything you need to cast your cares away and relax.You will seriously want for nothing here and feel very at home. The location is remote enough to feel secluded but really a quick and easy drive to Priceville or Hanalei for shopping, dining or site seeing. We were lulled to sleep every night by the sound of the ocean and watched the sunrise every morning on the beach with our coffee. We would stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the beauty of Kauai"s north shore. Ka Hale Olu is even nicer than pictured and the huge yard is perfect for families with little children to run and play. While this was my first visit to Kauai it was my 7th visit to this amazing state. Of all the places I have stayed this was the best yet and I look forward to returning

We are part of a destination wedding and travelled far to have a family vacation here at "Ka Hale Olu" We landed this sweet perfectly located beach house with all its fresh amenities. Thanks for the beach equipment in the garage. We snorkled and enjoyed it all. Aloha and Mahalo

Paradise on Anini Beach

The house is lovely, clean, well-supplied and right across the street from Anini Beach. It is the perfect beach for families. Our kids even swam among the turtles one morning. It came equipped with snorkels, beach chairs and loads of beach towels. It is very close to Hanalei, but without the crowds. We spent a marvelous week there. I highly recommend it.

Our first time in Hawaii and absolutely LOVED it!!! Not only was Hawaii beautiful, so was this home!!! Decorated in Hawaiin decor, clean and very well-maintained with lots of room to spread throughout the home and to sit on the lanai and just relax and breathe in the beauty. The pics say it all! The large backyard to hang and relax with much privacy. Just across the street, the stunning Anini Beach that was absolutely breathtaking and the calm waters. Lots to do around town...for old and the young. My next vacation to Kauai will be back at this lovely home!!! So I defininety recommend this place.

All ten of us arrived from San Diego, ranging in ages 73 to 15 months. The location, house and cottage more than met our expectations. The grounds were beautiful and the house and cottage were stocked with every amenity you could think of . The proximity of the beach was approx. 100 yards from the house, almost deserted and for the most part we had it to ourselves. The snorkeling was great, expecially in the am. We would recommend this to any family and will hopefully return.

Perfect spot for our group of 8 adults and 1 infant. The back cottage was a great add-on to the main house where we cooked and had our meals. All facilities were as described and very workable for a group of our size. Proximity to the beach was a plus and as represented. The loft was a bit too warm in August, but probably great the rest of the year. House is best for three couples during August. Wifi was very unreliable during our visit and we have notified the owner. Crib and high chair were available for rent from Ready Rentals and they deliver and pick up. Cindy does an excellent job of setting up your reservation and giving you the information you need during your visit. We would rent this property again if we return with a group of six or eight persons.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We like this Anini Beach house the best of the four places we have stayed in the Islands. The photos and description of the property were all accurate, and it was in wonderful condition. The proximity to the beach, and the gentle wave action there were perfect for our family which included two pre-schoolers. The North Shore has so many hikes and other activities that we were happily busy without having long drives to reach destinations. We definitely recommend this property to others, and plan to return here in 2013

We stayed over New Years and loved it! It is just below the new Westin Resort thats up on the bluff. The beach is "true" hawaii, very tropical and at times no one but you on it. Hard to find that in Hawaii these days. The home is literaly across the street from the ocean which lulls you to sleep at night. The home had everything we needed, chairs, croquet,snorkel gear, maps etc. Two minutes to Princeville market for supplies and your set to enjoy all the island of Kauai has to offer. Great place to book for two families or spread out with just yours. Very private location, so bring your book and enjoy the ocean! Safe cove for kids to swim/snorkel too. Had a great time, can't wait to return!

"The first thing we noticed upon our arrival is the attention to detail the hosts put into our stay. Everything we needed for our vacation was provided; from beach gear, maps, menus for local restaurants and an awesome kitchen for home cooking. The property itself is in a perfect location at Annini beach which is idyllic. Just as exciting was the fact that we were just minutes away from world class golf ,sightseeing and top beaches in Hawaii. The home is beautiful inside and out we especially appreciated the Lanai where we found ourselves enjoying the palm trees and tropical landscape. We have stayed on all the islands and in many different locales this by far is our favorite. We definitely plan on returning to Ka Hale ‘Olu" Dr. J. Scott Threde and Family

This was our first time on Kauai, and we were delighted that everything was just as we hoped it would be. The house was clean and spacious with everything we needed. The large front porch was especially nice for just relaxing or reading a book, and the large supply of boogie boards, beach chairs, sand toys, swim fins and snorkels was a true bonus. It let us easily enjoy the beach and water without having to worry about rentals. It truly did take just a minute to walk from the house to the beach. The large back yard was also perfect for the kids to run around. The location was perfect, as it was secluded, but also a quick 10-15 minute drive to town. We would love to stay here again.

Gracious country living at one of the prettiest areas in Hawaii. Quiet street, a short walk to the beach. The Anini Beach Park is just down the street with beautiful horses grazing across the way. We were in an qut-of- the-way and yet convenient location to where we wanted to go on the North shore. It was perfect for our family of 6 ranging in ages from 4 to 83. We had a happy aloha time.

My family (three kids 2 yrs to 8 yrs) spent three nights at Ka Hale Olu. It was the perfect vacation. The house is cool and breezy and is appointed with all the comforts. The grounds are huge and are perfect for exploration and paying games. My daughters loved the rope swings. Anini Beach is great. The beach is sheltered by the longest continuous reef in the Hawaiian Islands, which makes the beach a fun spot for young kids. Tunnels Beach, Haena Beach Park, Hanalei and other must-see spots on the north shore are only a short drive away. This was our first time staying in a vacation rental. We greatly preferred the house to a resort. We will be back to Kaua‘i and back to Ka Hale Olu.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I've stayed at Ka Hale 'Olu twice now and plan to continue returning as long as it's available. The house is well-appointed and extremely comfortable -- a fantastic common area with a huge family dining table, three very private and well-separated bedrooms with an additional loft area, beautifully landscaped grounds, a well-stocked kitchen... It's a phenomenal value. For those who haven't stayed at Anini, the vibe is very quiet and peaceful. The beach across the street from the house is often deserted and rarely has more than a few people at any time -- it's the perfect place to read and relax, and the water is shallow and very calm. Hanalei town is a short drive North and has some great restaurants and a pretty vibrant main street, so if you want to break the solitude there are options close-by. A really great house in a fantastic location, perfect for folks looking for quiet and seclusion.

We had the most amazing vacation here in your beautiful home! Thank You, for sharing it with us and others. We have an ongoing love affair with the North Shore and especially with Anini Beach. We swam with sea turtles, saw whales and big-time surfers, caught Jack on a fly rod, swam, strolled day after day. We had amazing rain storms, some with thunder and beautiful sun every day. We hiked the Kalalau and the Powerline Trail. We had visits to 8 or 10 other beaches in the area, including Kee, Haena, and Tunnels, Hanalei Bay, Secret Beach, Anahola, Kealia and more. We attended a luau and had dinner in Kapa'a several times. We bought souvenirs shaved ince and coffee and slept very well. We fell blessed to be able to experience the Aloha of Kauai. Your home made our vaction extremely special! Mahalo!

Our extended family spent Christmas week at this property and loved it. The owners were very helpful and provided great directions and information prior to our stay. Actually, the pictures online do not do the house justice - it exceeded our expectations. The house is beautifully furnished and has an amazing yard. The kitchen is well equipped and we appreciated that the dining table could seat all 8 of us. We also enjoyed the extras: games, beach towels, boogie boards and scuba equipment. Anini beach is incredible: we snorkeled and swam every day and saw tonnes of turtles but few other people. The beach is less than a minute from the house and it was great for our small children as there is no surf. Loved Hanalei and would recommend hiring kayaks and or stand up paddle boards from Kayak Kauai. We hope to be back soon!

The location is excellent, the quality of accommodations is very good. There are little bonus touches such as snorkel equipment, boogie boards, gas grill, etc. We had a family vacation that our (adult) children rated as the best vacation ever.

We had a wonderful time! This home is very clean and comfortable. The grounds are immaculate and a beautiful beach is just steps away. The sunrise over the lighthouse was stunning and early in the morning the water is as flat as glass. If you sit and watch it you will see turtles pop their heads out of the water. The beach is protected by a large reef and we snorkled almost everyday. Our only regret is that we took a few days to sightsee around the island, which took us away from the the serenity of this home.

We were literally steps away from local beach access, a couple blocks away from the state park, and a perfect location for jumping off into daily adventures around the island. Beautiful, comfortable house with well equiped kitchen. Plenty of ceiling fans and outdoor space for lounging. Owners were responsive and honest. We would return here in a heart beat!

Wonderful Kauai Rental

We stayed with two other couples in the main house. Rooms were very comfortable, kitchen has everything you need, very open floor plan, good for socializing. The house is really clean and well maintained. It's a great location for access to anything on the island, but best of all was the 30 second walk to a secluded, beautiful beach. Owners are very easy and pleasant to work with. I would recommend this property to a friend.

Aloha! If you are thinking of taking a trip to the garden isle, Kauai, this is the place to go. It is a relaxing travel destination. The beach access for Ka Hale Olu is a simple walk across the street. The beach is not busy, so you can take a walk or just simply enjoy the surf. Ka Hale Olu is quiet, beautiful, and has everything anyone could ask for. Cathy

I have stayed in this house twice. It is a great house, very comfortable and well maintained. The kitchen is nicely outfitted also. Location is good, Anini Beach is beautiful and private. Hanelei is close by for good restaurants and shopping and Hanelei Bay is gorgeous!
