  • We stayed at the Gunderson house for 7 days between June 20th and June 27th, 2009. I brought my wife and two kids - one 7 and one 5. We decided to "brave" the US media driven hysteria of the swine flu and violence in Mexico. Well, we saw none of it - Rosarito was very safe and welcome for US visitors. And, let me tell you about the house! The Gunderson house was by far the nicest rental we have been in. Once you open the door, you just say "Ahhh" and then never want to leave. The house is decorated beautifully in traditional spanish design including wonderful paintings and old brick. You move on to the patio and realize that you could be no closer to the beach - and with two large ocean-view patios. This house is wet during high tide and provides 200 feet of beach on low-tide. The beach is not the cleanest beach we have been on, but that should be expected. The beach is safe for kids because of only a slight sloping beach. Surfers enjoyed good size waves but they were breaking out 100 yards. Weather was 70-75 on the beach nearly all week. Evenings were nice enough to leave the patio doors open while reading before bed. We were able to have the kids stay on the lower floor where their TV and playing couldn't be heard while we were reading. Highlights of Rosarito include El Nido for lunch or Dinner, the Open Air market for bargaining, and just south of town for pots, furniture, etc. If you like horseback riding, check with the friendly neighbor Richard to see if he can hook you up on a trip and tell him Kevin sent you.   • The house is perfect! We have four college age children who all either surf or body board. This is a perfect spot. The floor plan is great as it has living quarters downstairs which include a giant patio. After 9:00pm, when my husband and I go to bed, the children can sit up and talk and we can't hear them :-).... We all pretty much live on the two patios and the kitchen (which is well equipped and looks out to the ocean). This is the first vacation spot we have made a reoccurring family vacation. Thanks a bunch Sean!

  • We spent 5 wonderful days in the Gunderson home and couldn't have asked for a better location. The house was spacious and beautiful. It sits right on the sand with the waves coming up to the steps every night. The dolphins swam by daily and the sunsets were amazing. We can't wait to go back next summer and plan on staying longer as check-out day came much too soon! :)

  • WOW! What an awesome beach house! Very spacioius and comfortable for a family. Dolphins and groups of seals were seen daily. Perfect place for surfers as the waves break right in front of the house. We'll be back!
