If you are looking for a place to get away with the family or your significant other - your senses will be satisfied. Round Lake is three miles by seven miles wide and around 90 feet deep. Water visibility is high as the lake is fed from springs and from adjacent Algonquin Park. Wildlife in the area includes brown bear, deer, and all sort of squirrels, chipmunks, otter, and local habitat. One of the finest fishing lakes in The Ottawa Valley and by most standards the most popular lake in a 60 mile radius.
Killaloe is the nearest town (eight miles) and Pembroke the nearest larger town (30 miles). You are about 500 feet from Foy Provincial Park where the locals come for day use only as no camping or overnight is allowed. Entrance is free and it boasts the nicest beach on the lake. Interested in Theatre? Our local group, The Stone fence Theatre Group has events running Summer and Fall and for around $30 you get live music, theatre, local food, and a true vivid color of The Valley. The list of things to do in the area is, frankly, amazing. There is NO OTHER place with so many things to do where you can get away... but still absorb the Canadian cottage experience. |
