College Graduation Week, 5/11

We stayed at this rental property for the week during our daughter's college graduation in May 2011. We rented the apartment comprising the top two floors of the house. It was certainly roomy enough for the 8 of us, with more than enough bedroom and bathroom space. Two of the three bathrooms were nicely renovated and equipped with more than enough towels and washcloths, lotions and soaps. The upstairs half-bath was older and not as nice as the other two, but still certainly functional. The apartment included everything we needed (linens, kitchen items) and some surprising items as well: magazines, puzzles, basic kitchen staples, etc. There are many windows, and the place felt very open and airy. It really felt homey and not hotel-like at all. The neighborhood was nice and quiet, with plenty of parking on the street. Wireless internet was available; I just wish someone had told us where to find the password (it's on the side of the fridge on a paper stuck with a magnet). The owner was absolutely fabulous! She gave us lots of information about the surrounding area and was very helpful. We had another place lined up which fell through, so arranging this rental was last-minute and stressful for us. She eased our fears. We were arriving late at night, so she gave us the code to get into the building. She called the next morning to make sure everything was alright. One small nitpick: The sink in the upstairs bathroom was not cleaned prior to our arrival. It didn't take much more than a wipe with a wet paper towel, and I'm sure it was just an oversight, but I didn't appreciate that. I would stay at this rental again if we had need. I would highly recommend it to others. It was much nicer than we expected and we were very pleasantly surprised.

Boston vacation, Easter 2010

We stayed at the apartment for 2 weeks over Easter 2010. The apartment is very comfortable and spacious, well furnished and equiped with everything you need. 4 comfortable bedrooms, en-suite bathroom with shower and whirlpool, seperate full bathroom and toilet. Lounge with sofa's and TV, fully equipped kitchen / diner, and shared washing utility with 2nd unit. The location is excellent in a very quiet and peaceful residential neighbourhood, with convenience store around the corner and large supermarket about 10 minutes walk. No need for a car if travelling from abroad like us (London). Bus stop around the corner and 5 minutes ride to Harvard Square for Restaurants, Bars and shops, and the Red Line stop. Weekly Charlie Link ticket is excellent value - $15 for unlimited bus and subway must be the bargain of the decade - this would cost a fortune in London! Harvard Square is 10 minutes on the subway from central Boston. No problem getting around. We would recommend this property and would happily return ourselves. Owner very friendly and helpful, showed us all the ameneties and recommendations for the area - very nice. Family from London, 2010
Owner response:We do our best to make our guests feel special and feel at home.I check after each clean job to be sure there is no missed point. This is a very big place. It is Ok to tell me that if you find and spot that is not cleaned, or missed. I will clean it for you. Boston is a great place to visit. You don't have to spend a fortune, or be separated into several rooms, or have to eat everyday in a restaurant. Come with us. You have the full kitchen all by your selves. Fly in late, not a problem. I have password entrance. Just let me know. I will give it to you before you arrive.

We have stay at this wonderful apartment from March 9 through 18, 2008. This apartment was very clean, beautiful and roomy. It was a way better apartment than we expected. It is located in the safe and quite neighborhood area. We could go to Supermarket and restaurants within 10 minutes on foot. The owner is a very nice and kind. She gave us many information around this area and a greater Boston area. The reason why we went there was to reseach at Harvard University. The apartment is close to the university and convenient. We can recommend anyone this apartment.

Thank you for your very helpful assistance in making our reservations for the most attractive accommodations at Unit # 2, 17 Holman Street, Allston. Your speedy response made it easier for us and was the prologue for a most delightful visit. From the moment we walked into the spacious two-level apartment at 17 Holman Street, we were struck by the light and airy feeling and openness of the rooms. We were in Boston in early September for our son's wedding and having our daughters and their husbands and children with us in such a lovely dwelling made the weekend much more special. The new appliances and remodeled bedrooms and bathrooms were such a comfort and were more than adequate, as were the other amenities such as the cookware and kitchenware and utensils, the fluffy towels and comfortable chairs, sofa, and beds. The easily opened windows made for a refreshing cross ventilation . . . and when it was too warm outside, the air conditioning worked perfectly. All of these amenities enhanced our comfortable stay. From our perspective, 17 Holman Street was the ideal location and we easily got to each venue for the wedding and festivities. Numerous restaurants, shops and grocery stores are nearby, many within a nice walking distance. We were warned that parking was at a premium in the neighborhood, but we had no trouble finding on-street parking, day and night for our vehicles. The next time we come to Boston, we will contact you and arrange to stay at 17 Holman Street Unit 2. It's a winner! Thank you again. TJG
