We had a short stay of two days while doing a tour of the low country. This condo has an amazing view and has access to the beach from the deck. Don't know if it was just that weekend but everyone we ran into was so friendly and welcoming to the area. Big rooms for a small place, clean and warm. The owners were very nice and easly to work with. We'll be back..........

Mary/Hank: Thank you very much for making this out to be one of the best vacations my wife and I ever had! This is our last trip before our new baby arrives, so it will always be a bit special to us. The room was neat and tidy, and the renovations were nice. The area was peaceful, which is just what we wanted. The Freshfields area was quant, unique, and very nice as well. Seabrook Island was a beautiful peaceful beach. Beautiful sunsets and enjoyed watching the dolphins play in front of the condo. Would certainly recommend visiting Seabrook Island. Short drive to Charleston.

This was our 3rd time/3rd year staying in Hank & Mary's condo. We have found this condo to be the best view out of the Pelican Watch Villa's (we've stayed in 2 others prior to finding Hank & Mary's!). The condo is recently renovated; so we were pleasantly surprised when arriving of the updates that were made. It was nice before, but now it's even nicer. Everything is crisp and bright and clean. If you stay on Seabrook, this is THE PLACE to stay. You are RIGHT ON the beach as this says. Beware of any place that says you're on the beach but doesn't show you photos from the condo/unit. This one is exactly as it says. Thanks again to Hank & Mary for being such great hosts! Your place is AMAZING and we look forward to coming back year after year; it's become a tradition for us! We always hate leaving! :)

Great Condo, View and Upgrades!

This was our 6th or 7th time staying at this condo and while we've always enjoyed our stay and the amenities, the recent upgrades were fabulous! They've added beautiful new granite, updated bathrooms and paint to name a few- very nice and modern! The location is perfect, right on the beach and perfect view for the most amazing sunsets. The island is quite, yet offers a lot to do particularly for nature lovers. We love taking our dog to the off leash beach and have met many people and dogs each year that we come. We will continue to stay here and actually already asked about booking next year! Highly recommend this condo!

This was our first trip to Seabrook Island. What a wonderful place to stay. The Condo was very clean and comfortable. Easy access to the beach. The sunsets were amazing. So glad we chose this property the owners were great to work with. We will be back this was a great place to stay, thanks for sharing your condo.

Second to none!

This was my first time staying at Pelican Watch and it certainly won't be my last! Where to start? The condo had just gone through a major renovation with all new granite countertops and tiling. But let's skip all that because the pictures were exactly what we received! The private beach is perfect with its' fine sand, the dolphins just off the shore! Zero noisy, ill mannered children running around but rather some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet! We [me & my wife] walked (yes walked) to the club house to grab a quick bite of breakfast which was prepared and presented perfectly! If we couldn't walk everything was a 5 minute or less drive, which was convenient. Sunkissed and a glass of wine we sat and enjoyed one of the most beautiful sunsets, not once but twice during our stay (we stayed for only two days). After the sunsets, the stars came out; and not just a few. We were able to look up and CLEARLY see the big and little dippers, orion's belt and the north star! Pelican Watch is by far the best spot in South Carolina! Being able to bring the kids, dog, in-laws down was a big factor for us. When we saw that Hank and Mary had a king size bed and two pull our queens that comfortably housed six people it was a done deal. Not too many condo's have everything for every family, but it is in this families opinion that the Pelican Watch has it all and more! You really can't go wrong with this property. It's the "What you see is what you get," and the photos are indicative of our experience. I highly recommend this property to anyone with kids, pets or if they just want to get away for the weekend! I will definitely be coming back to this spot!

Peaceful, Easy Feeling

Dolphins frolicking in the morning sun. Deer grazing at dusk. Warm, gentle waves tickling our toes as we search for shells. These were just a few of our experiences while staying in this comfortable beachside condo. The definition of peaceful is sitting on the second-floor deck watching the sun set in a blaze of crimson hues. It's amazing that we felt like we had gotten away from the hustle of civilization, yet were just minutes away from all of the amenities civilization has to offer -- golf, shopping and historic Charleston. We would highly recommend this condo for anyone seeking that peaceful, easy feeling of a restful yet eventful vacation.

We have been to Mary and Hank's condo for several years and this visit was another fantastic experience. This condo is a perfect, quiet location to relax and regroup. We spent our time enjoying beautiful views, dolphin watching, biking, kayaking and walking the beach. I love to prop up on pillows and read in the master suite's comfortable bed. Thank you for the amenity card! We love to take a dip in the pool and have lunch beachside. Charleston is conveniently nearby, as are outlet shopping and delicious restaurants (right on the island.) I am picky and always find this condo to be very clean and well stocked. If you are looking for everything in one location, this place is for you!

If you are looking for the ideal place to stay for your next beach vacation, this is it! We just spent the week in this condo, and it couldn’t have been better. It is tastefully decorated and well kept. Pictures cannot capture the amazing views and gorgeous sunsets from this location. Since we were vacationing with our two small children, we appreciated the cleanliness, comfort and conveniences of the condo – plenty of space, comfortable couches and king bed, stocked with everything you need, and only a one minute walk to the beach. The owners also allow use of the amenity card, which was wonderful. The kids had a blast at the pool, and we were able to enjoy a few meals at the oceanfront club restaurant. Charleston is only about 30 minutes away, which was a fun day trip. Bohicket Marina (just before entrance to Seabrook) offers boat rentals- what a fun way to see the islands and wildlife (we saw lots of dolphins!). Thank you, Hank and Mary, for providing wonderful accommodations. It allowed us to relax and make happy memories! We hope to stay here again!

Hidden Gem

Rest, Relax, Renew are the three words that best describe this hidden gem. From the spectacular views, to the quiet secluded beaches... Seabrook has it all! This is truly one of the best condos we have stayed at in a long time. The top floor end unit and 180 degree unobstructed view is unforgetable. The unit is spotless and well maintained. We have made such wonderful memories in Seabrook and will definitely be back!

Everything not as pictured

The view from the sliding glass doors is as pictured, except we could not close the blinds while we were there because they were broken. We could not see the view from the windows on the adjoining wall as they were covered with opaque plastic because the condo outside was being painted. Our last full day we did not use the deck or stairs to the beach because the workers were on it scraping, caulking and priming. We were not informed ahead of time that this work was going to be done. Obviously, other condo owners knew because our deck was the only one with furniture on it when we arrived, everyone elses was on the ground. Peeling wallpaper in the bathrooms, very dirty medicine cabinets, baseboards and floors around the edge of kitchen are chipped and dirty. The king sized bed was comfortable, the 3 small, lumpy pillows on it were extremely stained and unsanitary. The setting is very nice, the beach location is probably the best on the island. The bathtubs and sinks were clean. This condo needs repairs and refurbishing to make it look as pictured on the website. We emailed our disappointment to the owners when we got home and did not receive a response. We would definitely not stay here again or recommend it.

Owner response: We are disappointed that our guests did not have an exceptional experience staying at our beach-front condo as we pride ourselves on delivering 5-star service as demonstrated by the reviews we have received. We thank the reviewer for bringing to our attention that the vertical blinds, wallpaper and coverings need attention, and we have sent out instructions to address these. The building painting episode was most unfortunate as the bi-annual outdoor painting schedule was not properly coordinated. For this we take our share of responsibility and we will be better prepared for the next painting in order to avoid interfering with the quality of our guest's stay. We remain committed to providing a first-rate experience in an exceptional Pelican Watch location to all our visiting guests.

GREAT VACATION SPOT

We just returned from a one week vacation in Hank & Mary's great villa. We had family and friends in two other villa's but you just could not beat the view from this one. The sunsets were beautiful and watching the dolphins play was just fantastic! Walks on beach, St. Patrick's Day in Charleston and trips to "town" made this one of the most relaxing vacations in a long time. The villa was everything we expected and more. Very clean and extremely comfortable, best view on the island. Every thing you need for a great time was included in this villa. We hope to return again next year.

Hank and Mary's Seabrook Paradise

We have stayed on Seabrook many times due to its relaxed atmosphere and great amenities. This condo has fantastic views and is situated right on the beach. We would highly recommend this spot for a relaxed week at the beach and have stayed in this condo several times. The property is as described and the views are better than any picture will capture. We like the variety of restaurants and the proximity to Charleston, which is an easy 25 minute drive.

Best View on Seabrook Island!

I wrote this review at the villa, however, was unable to get it to upload at that time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are actually at the villa as I type this review! I am sitting at the dining room table looking out at the ocean as I type. I have stayed at 3 different villas so far during my many stays at Pelican Watch, and this is by far my favorite. You HAVE to stay in a top floor unit; no one keeping you up at night walking upstairs, or getting you up earlier than you'd like.. and the view!! This particular unit has a 180 degree view of the ocean, being on a top floor and also being the closest villa to the actual ocean (others are set back some, i.e. staggered). You can look side to side.. look up to view the Pelicans overhead, and down to the beautiful landscaped boardwalk - unlike a downstairs unit.. This view is worth it all..... The villa is furnished very nicely.. You have conveniences of home; you can do laundry, wash dishes in the dishwasher, cook, etc - so you save money from going out to eat all the time. Just buy groceries like you would at home from Newton Farms right off the island, or Piggly Wiggly just out Bohicket Road a few miles on Maybank Hwy.. The amenity card gets us into the pools on the island, and this is a real treat. Other Pelican Watch Villa's that we have stayed in did not have this card, and it sure is nice to go to the pool whenever we want during the heat of the days!! We always go to Charleston for a day (20 miles away) while we are here, as well as going to Savannah, GA one day (a scenic 2 hour drive). We always bring our little Chihuahua with us too - he's 4 lbs. soaking wet, and loves sunning himself just inside the patio doors off the deck. All in all, this is a beautiful place to stay. We plan to stay here again on future trips, for sure! Thanks to Hank & Mary for the great communication and the great place to stay for a memorable trip!! Dena, Kyle & Tanner (the Chihuahua!)

I've been staying at Seabrook for the past 15-20 years and we typically stay at Pelican Watch. This was our best view yet, we loved having windows on two sides! It's a quick, easy trip down the board walk to the beach. The condo was very well kept and the bed very comfortable. Our dog loved it too! The North Beach allowed dogs to be off leash and to play with other dogs, which was a nice bonus. We'd highly recommend this condo and hope to stay again soon!

We have been visiting Kiawah/Seabrook for 20 years and the location coupled with amenities and quality of this condo are better than any other we have rented...Steps from the beach and awesome view of the ocean just make it a perfect place to vacation. The location of this cornerfront unit could not be better. Wonderful unobstructed views of the ocean, sunsets and the moon at night. The condo is well equipped, and nicely laid out. The island itself is full of birds and wildlife, with nature trails available, and once on the beach, dolphins and other marine life abound. Charleston is a short and enjoyable drive away. Freshfields Village is very close, and a great place to shop, and is home to the King Street Grille which is a good place to go for wings and beer. We loved our stay at Pelican Watch, our dog loved the long beach walks, and we all hope to return next year!

My wife and I stayed at this location for 4 days in mid August,08. Very comfortable, scenic views, and pristine beaches. We have rented from VRBO at least a dozen times since 2001 and Pelican Watch was one of the best. We will make every attempt to return in the near future.

We enjoyed our relaxing weekend on Seabrook Island. The condo is very nicely furnished, clean, and comfy, and the view from the deck is fantastic. The beach is perfect for long walks with your dog. The community is immaculate. Be sure to shop at Newton Farms for your groceries (shopping center just outside the gate) -- it is fabulous. We are looking forward to returning soon.

We just spent a wonderful 5 nights at your condo. It was great being right on the beach and the view was beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the pelicans glide overhead. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on that was not my own. The entire Seabrook community was so relaxed and appealing. We hope to return in the future. Thanks again.

Dear Mary, My wife and I had a great honeymoon at the villa. The beach was beautiful, and it wasn't really that far from Charleston. The villa has the best view out of the ones at Pelican watch, and it is right on the beach. The villa was wonderfully furnished, and I could not have been more happy with our stay there.
