Hi Patricia, We had an absolutely wonderful time in your cabin this weekend. Such a cozy home with beautiful surroundings! Thank you for allowing us to stay there. Unfortunately, about 2 hours down the road after leaving the cabin this morning we realized we left a few things in the fridge. Not only were we bummed to forget and leave those items behind, but hope it didn't cause you or someone helping you clean up any inconvenience. Thanks again for sharing Hayden Hideaway with us.

Nice secluded cabin. Well stocked with towels, dishes, etc. Wonderful screened in patio with lots of chairs. It fit 8 adults comfortably. We were told no one had stayed here in awhile which I guess is the reason that the outside had a lot of spider webs everywhere. I wish they had emailed us the rules and cleanup check list prior to our arriving at the cabin. We had to strip beds and do laundry and dishes before we left. As well as clean the grill and take out the trash. Also the water comes from a well and was very stinky. And they suggest you bring bottled water to drink which would have been nice to know before arriving at the cabin. There is a pathway down to the lake but the only beach area for swimming is occupied by a boat dock that renters are not allowed to touch. That was a bit of an inconvenience.

Hi Patricia not great at technical things, could mess this up but going to give it a try loved the cabin! Patricia, Your lake home is lovely and we had a wonderful and relaxing time. Our family of seven really enjoyed our stay at your home on Greer's Ferry. It was a wonderful weekend and we were very comfortable and thrilled with the home. I would highly recommend this home to everyone, Perfect getaway for relaxing, fishing and spending time with family & friends. The owners went above and beyond at our last minute arrangements, making it hassle free and welcoming for our family including our 2 dogs ( can't travel without the babies!) We are looking forward to hopefully returning again this summer!! Thanks again!!

BEWARE!!!! TERRIBLE experience with owners and the house STINKS BAD!!!

We had a terrible experience at this property. The owner and the property manager have serious issues with communication. The property manager gave us wrong information twice and apparently didn't tell the owners about it b/c the owners are not giving us our deposit back now. And, the house smells terrible from the sulfur in the water. The first thing that happened was that the property manager told us 3 times that our check-in date was Thursday. We weren't sure if it was supposed to be thursday or friday b/c we couldn't find the original email with the owners, so we triple checked with the property manager that Thursday was our day and went based on that. When we arrived at the house late Thursday night, it was in disarray. There was trash and hair everywhere, dirty sheets, feminie products in the trash can... I mean nasty. HOWEVER, we were definitely prepared to overlook it because the property manager gave us the wrong information on our check-in date. We were apparently not supposed to be there until Friday morning. When the property manager showed up to clean at midnight Thursday night she realized her mistake and apologized profusely. We told her that we understood it was a misunderstanding and not to worry about cleaning (as we had already cleaned the place ourselves). When the propery manager was there Thursday night, we asked her if it would be okay to use the boat dock. We understood for legal purposes, they cannot "rent" the dock (the Arkansas Parks and Recrecation do not allow rental of boat docks). However, she told us that it was perfectly fine for us to use the dock and if anyone had a problem with it to call her. A neighbor approached us the following day saying that we may have to move our boat if his friend came and brought his boat. We told him no problem, but we were never approached again about the situation. Now the owners are telling us that we are not going to get our deposit back because we used the boat dock and came up on Thursday night. I am not sure what the problem is because we were given permission on both counts by the property manager (who is the only person you ever actually talk to when you get there). Instead of not giving us our deposit back, they need to work it out with the person who caused this mess - the property manager. We are very dissapointed with how the owners handled the situation; they have not been prompt to call us back and when they did, they were rude and called us liars! Beware

Dear Pat, Our stay was great - the house was perfect! Your decorations are so cute. Some times when you rent a house it feels like you're "renting a house" - but your home makes you feel like you belong - very nice. The beds were comfortable, the 8 seat dinningroom table was a big plus - our family truly enjoyed everything. I'm glad we arrived during the day - due to the steep road ,but the directions were right on target. We would recommend this to all family and friends and we'll definitely be back. Mike and Patricia, I'm not sure we can put into words what a wonderful oasis your place was at a time when we needed some downtime. We stopped at your place on our way from Texas while moving to Virginia. After spending several weeks prepping for our move, we were tired and spent. And your home was just the place to let loose of the fatigue and weariness! There was just a touch of fall color but warm enough last weekend to be on the lake and in the water. The house was wonderful! It far exceeded my expectations. The cakes were a success. We had a few worried moments transporting the cake to the main highway but no major trouble. I now realize that making a cake for one's own children causes a bit more tension than just making a wedding cake for someone else. I had to wait until I returned to school to access e-mail. Patricia, We had a great week out at your place! Your home is very cozy and very comfortable! We really enjoyed the watermelon! The only thing that we would change is not having to park on such an incline and to have a boat slip at the camp instead of having to park at the marina's. Thanks for your message. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay in Hayden’s Hideaway, and I hope we left everything in order. It was fun to bring some of our own Thanksgiving decorations for the hearth, table, and bar. The mood was festive, the cabin was cozy, the weather was crisp, and our family loved it. High points included:the cozy look of the cabinthe nice facilities, well-equipped kitchen/baths, and attractive decora lovely evening fire in the fireplacethe great view over the lakea wonderful walk,climb in the woods on Thanksgiving Dayand last but not least, that wonderful pillow-top mattress on the master bedroom bed. Hi Patricia, I got the check and cashed it on Friday. Thank you very much! We LOVED the house. It might be silly, but one of my favorite things was the bed! The other house we rented had older, not nearly as comfortable beds, but at the hideaway, it was just so nice to climb in at the end of the day for a nice night of sleep. BTW- I did take the master... hehehe. I also really appreciated the extras around the house, like fruit, soap, a sponge, charcoal, coffee, games, satellite, the list goes on. We left the charcoal and lighter fluid as we ended up not using them, but still, it was nice to know it was there in case. The other house had a bigger living area and a huge deck, so we spent most of the time there. But the first day we were at the hideaway, we went down to the lake and swam around in the little cove, just hanging out. We ended up with 9 people the first night and 11 the next. Everyone was very comfortable! (The other house I rented said 9 as well, but it was more like a comfortable 6 and then I don't know where they wanted the rest of them...) We noticed that some of the people who wrote in your comments book seemed to take it more as a "critique" book, so we tried to avoid that. I agree with the general concensus that the access to the lake is pretty steep and it would be really great to know if the owners of the dock might be interested in allowing rental of a space while staying at the house. I think that it might be good to warn people in the description that the access is as steep as it is in the case that people might have difficulty with the climb. That said, we really, really thought it was a great place. We all said that if we could have a lake house someday, we'd love it to be just like yours. Thank you again, very, very much for everything, including the birthday present of the decreased fee. Patricia, Are your ears burning? We were just talking about you and I was going to send you an email and let you know how much we enjoyed it. Everything was so clean (which is so different from places we have rented in the past) and there were real towels, and everything we could need in the kitchen, and the charcoal was a really nice touch so we didn't have to haul it down the hill. It was so "homey" and we had a wonderful time. Now the "four wheeler trail" they call a road leading into it was a bit deceiving, had you not sent us the specific directions, we never would have thought we were going the right way- we laughed the whole way down the road! Hi Patricia, Sorry I haven't e-mailed you already, it's been a busy week at work. That's typical after a vacation. We had a wonderful time at the lake. The house was beautiful!! It was the perfect place for our group. We only wish we had all been in better shape for the hikes from the lake up to the house. Ha Ha!! It was worth every hike we made!! You have a wonderful lake house. All the girls loved the bright and stylish decor within the house. My favorite place is the sun deck. I was there every morning when the sun rose, it was beautiful! You really have it set up well for your guest. I can't think of anything we needed that you didn't have, except for more time to spend there! Oh well, there's always next time. We had a wonderful time at your lake house! We have been to Greer's Ferry a few times before but have never felt more relaxed or comfortable as we did at Hayden's Hideaway. Patricia, We're home and finally settled back into routine again, but I wanted to drop you a line to let you know how much we enjoyed the lakehouse. It was so relaxing and other than food and personal items you guys had everything. It was nice to prepare a meal and have all of the tools provided to do so. The home is decorated beautifully and the beds were very comfy. My kids were thrilled and my oldest said the vacation rated a 9 out of 10. However, my husband came across a copperhead a couple of times around the boat dock. We laughed and said the snakes couldn't read the "no snakes" sign. Patricia, We had a great time this weekend! Your home was quite impressive and so was the surrounding lake. We worked hard to keep the home as nice as it was when we arrived.
