Sunflower Cottage -our charming wooden chalet set in peaceful surroundings where you can enjoy fresh air, sunshine, hear owls hooting in the woods at night, live the simple life AND still have the the benefit of home comforts.
There's nothing more satisfying than waking on a morning and either eating breakfast with the large door open allowing the fresh air to flood in-or out on the terrace in the sunshine where food tastes so much better.
Our compact but pretty chalet is ideal for those who love the outdoor life but are looking for something more substantial than holidaying in a tent.
Our chalet comprises two good sized (heated) bedrooms with full size bed in the main bedroom and a 3/4 bed and single bunks in the second/children's bedroom- which comes with a Winnie the Pooh theme. Both rooms have ample storage for clothing with space below the beds for holdalls etc and are prettily decorated. The whole chalet has recently been painted and refurbished with new curtains and seat covers in a pretty pink chequered material and there has been the addition of a new microwave oven and toaster. We have recently added a TV and VCR. It's not possible to pick up a tv signal but you can bring along your own or your children's favourites. There is only a small selection there at present but we are gradually adding to it. We have also added some children's board games for this season.
There is also the provision of a gas hob. The dining/cooking area is quite spacious with ample storage space for groceries and provisions. The good sized bathroom for this type of accommodation comprises of wc, shower and basin with ample hot water. Again newly refurbished ready for the summer season. Outside there is a covered verandah with patio furniture and BBQ. There is also a washing line for drying out towels etc.
We are situated on a quiet part of a campsite where it is very peaceful and relaxing. Idyllic is the word that spring to mind- a place where you can relax and chill out.
There are two large swimming pools on the site, a shop, bar children's playground and a children's club operates in the main season. There is a small animal park next door.
The whole area around the campsite is very scenic with the River Laita meandering through the pretty towns of Quimperle, Le Pouldu and Pont Aven -a haunt of the artist Gauguin. Sea Food comprises some of the main dishes in the restaurants and it is fresh and delicious.
We have just returned from our Easter vacation there. The weather has been wonderful-warm and sunny. People were in the water at the lovely beaches at Guidel-in March! Guidel Plages are very popular with mini golf, picnic areas, skate boarding area, bars etc
