This is actually a large 2 bed/2 bath home that we are offering at a "special" two person rate by locking off the 2nd bed/bath.

As owners of multiple Vacation Rentals we know that there are many more couples traveling than families at certain times of the year. That's why we are offering this stunning house, now discounted to a special two person rate. We simply lock off the second bedroom and second bath and you still have a complete home for less than the cost of a moderate hotel room. For $135.00 per/night your features will include: A spacious living room, large master bedroom w/connecting travertine master bathroom including double sinks. A large kitchen w/a separate dining sitting area and screened open air dining lanai. The second bedroom & bath will be locked off at this special "two person rate".

So...If there are only two of you traveling and you only require one bedroom please read further, I assure you that you WILL NOT find a better deal than this anywhere on the island. This beautiful Lindel Cedar plantation home is situated on over one full acre of authentic Hawaiian tropical flower gardens and fruit trees. The home features the most modern appliances, fixtures, and furnishings incorporated into an authentic "Hawaiian Plantation Style" home. The builder created the look and feel of days gone by in this lovely cedar home while still complementing it with only the best European (Grohe) fixtures, touch lighting, as well as solid Maple floors and beautiful imported travertine. As you look through the interior pictures notice that each and every window throughout the house offers garden views.

By far one of the most unique garden properties on the island. The grounds are adorned by 16 different types of palms, 26 different types of tropical trees, and 57 different species of tropical flowers (Including the unique Brazilian Blue Ginger). Some of the trees on the property include cashew nut, lychee, eggfruit, kukui nut, mango, avocado. Always in season, are dozens of local apple banana trees, papayas, Brazilian cherry, mangosteen, Surinam cherry and even coffee plants. Pupukea offers a rich history dating back to the Ancient Hawaiians (visit a sacred Heiau minutes down the road). You can nap in the rope hammock strung under one of the two 60 year old avocado trees, many of these huge trees were planted by the previous owner when he returned from WWII in 1945.

For anyone who truly wants to experience life in old Hawaii but with all the modern conveniences this home should not be missed. The sound of the cool trade winds blowing through the foliage and the songs of Native Hawaiian Birds will wake you each morning as well as delight you throughout the day. Have a breakfast of tropical fruit in the screened dining lanai. Bar-B-Q on the gas grill and picnic in the huge back yard, you will feel like this is your own piece of paradise.

Lose yourself in time in the evenings laying in the back yard and gazing at the stars. This is the Hawaii that you have longed for. Reminiscent of an old Hawaiian garden plantation perhaps on Kauai or Maui experience the splendor of outer island plantation living without the extra flight.

Truly secluded but yet only two miles from beautiful Waimea Bay. Oahu's most famous North Shore beaches are all within ten minutes of this property. Historic Haleiwa Town is a short 15 minute drive North with its famous "Shave Ice", quaint local shops, whale watching tours and big game fishing out of Haleiwa Harbor.

For your convenience, Foodland Supermarket, Starbucks as well as bike and surfboard rentals are all located in the small shopping area just 2 miles down the hill. Fresh farm raised shrimp can be found at numerous shrimp trucks in both Kahuku and Haleiwa. You can also stop and buy fresh Kahuku corn or local grown watermelons at any of the roadside stands.

Just 15 minutes to the Southeast is the Turtle Bay Resort with its two championship golf courses (Senior Pro-Tour stop) as well as fine dining and great sunsets, cocktails and pupu's at the "Sandbar". The Polynesian Cultural Center features the best Luau and Polynesian Review on the island (Rated Hawaii's #1 paid attraction) it's only a short 30 minute drive down Kamehameha Hwy.

Winter months bring back the migrating Hawaiian Humpback Whales to the North Shore along with the world famous "monster surf". Watch the giant waves and various surf competitions at Bonsai Pipeline, Alii Beach and of course, Sunset Beach. Be there!... At Waimea Bay! When the waves reach 25 feet or more. That's when the worlds greatest surfers come to compete in one of the most exclusive and dangerous invitational surf competitions in the world... "The Eddie."

  • The Heliconia Hale is amazing! Quiet and beautiful. Ken and Linda are wonderful hosts that have paid attention to detail and pleasing their guests. They are very helpful. The pictures are accurate, but do not capture the sophistication of this hale. The bathroom, although not shown is large and inviting. You will really feel like you know the owners. This place is highly recommended!

  • We had a wonderful time at the Heliconia Hale! The pictures on the website can't capture the beauty of the flowers and trees. We spent a week in Oahu and half of our pictures are of the grounds. The best bananas I have ever eaten came fresh off of the trees. We had lots of room and all of the amenities of home. It was totally relaxing. Many extras including gas grill, hammock, snorkeling gear, boogie boards and mats. Very near Sharks's Cove and the wonderful shrimp trucks in Kahuku. I hope some day to return with my grandkids. They would love the grass hut, kid videos and games. My recommendation is to sleep on the North Shore and drive to Waikiki area to visit.

  • We love this place. We've stayed here twice and look forward to visiting again. The owners Ken and Linda are very friendly, attentive, and responsive. The house is well maintained. It is located within minutes of great surfing, diving, and snorkeling spots on the North Shore. Yet, at 2 miles drive past the local store and Starbucks it's just remote enough to get away from the hustle and bustle. The fruit trees are a fantastic treat. The friendly neighbor dropped off bananas for our visit-- almost too many to eat, but absolutely delicious. At Ken and Linda's suggestion, we also indulged in the avocados, passion fruit, and bananas. We were hesitant to write a review because everyone is going to want to stay here!!

  • We stayed at this residence in February of 2007 with another couple. The separate bedrooms/bathrooms offer privacy. The grounds and the house were immaculate and Linda was wonderful. The rates were outstanding for the level of accommodations. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

  • We spent the weekend at this delightful hale while attending a family event on the North Shore. We highly recommend it in every way. Consider it whenever you have any reason to be on or near the north shore. Beautifully equipped in every regard and new and clean with comfy beds. I even processed some lau hala from their very tall tree- the leaves were on the ground, and the neighbors invited us over to pick tangerines and oranges. avocado

  • This past April was our first time in Hawaii! We booked a few rentals at different locations on Oahu using vrbo & this was our favorite. Linda was very informative and hospitable. The house was spacious and the grounds immaculate. Just a short drive to the beach. We recommend buying your groceries, but do try the Ahi at Haleiwa Joe's. This rental is the one for you! Enjoy!
