Best view of the Borrego Valley in all of Rams Hill formerly (Montesoro). The setting is romantic, inspired, open, and private. Enjoy the sweeping, panoramic view of Indian Head and the Anza-Borrego National Park from the master bed, living room, and patio. Listen to the soothing sounds of the desert and light a fire in our firepit on patio. See yourself totally RELAXING and enjoying mother nature in every direction. Rams Hill in Borrego Springs is San Diego's Best Kept Secret, only 90 minutes away from San Diego lies a hidden jewel that we have discovered and hope you will too! This is the most PEACEFUL place on the face of the earth. Borrego Springs was recently awarded the prestigious International Dark Sky Community Certification and rated by USA Today as the top 10 stargazing locations in the nation. More photo's and You Tube video of our home/information please go to our Facebook Page (see below). Due to the golf course closure our view is still expansive and beautiful but the golf course closure the grass is brown and they are not watering anything at the moment so the lake is not full.
Upgraded, contemporary furnishings with Zen inspired luxurious feel.Take full advantage of all the activities available such as golf, swimming, tennis, hiking, biking, trail running, and more. Or, simply enjoy the quiet, peaceful, rejuvenating setting with expansive views while you relax on the patio or by the two pools. Some of the homes in the town of Borrego on VRBO don't offer a pool or jacuzzi and we wouldn't want to rent a house in the desert without a pool. We have two huge pools, a recreational and a lap pool which is heated all year, and a short walk from our house. Also our front, back and side patio's are secure if you bring your fury friend.
Take an early morning walk or bike around the golf cart path to catch the spectacular sunrise views. Catch the sunset while relaxing from the back patio over looking the golf course and the Borrego Valley.
As you enter the living room you are surrounded by windows bringing the sense of the space, sunlight and quiet into the home. This beautiful two-bedroom, two-bath, 1400 square foot, contemporary home has new tile throughout. The master bedroom has its own sliding door to the patio facing the expansive views. Sleep restfully in our comfy bed with 550 thread count sheets. Wake in the morning to the morning light on the mountain view. The master bath is spacious with walk in closet and large oval deep tub for two. Every room has direct access to the outside. Absolutely breathtaking and light and bright!
The guest bedroom is separate and private. The décor is warm and inviting, with a window facing the eastern sunrise view, The back patio has a fun seating area and sliding glass doors face the interior courtyard.
Each day provides a new opportunity to enjoy the many outdoor activities available in Borrego Springs. Once the largest Thompson Grape growing region in the state, Borrego Springs area is now a veritable playground for those that like to enjoy nature and the Anza-Borrego State Park, play golf , several green grass courses in town, or lounge about the two pools at our Santa Fe swim complex at Rams Hill.
The Tom Fazio golf course is not operating due to lack of funds, however you can walk the 18 hole cart path now or play golf for Free on the dry course. The course is not being watered so there is no green grass or green tees. There are flags up and a cup on the tees which have been rolled and covered in light sand. You will have to walk the course since the club house is closed and there are no carts.
We are hopeful in the future we will have a green golf course. There are 3 public courses in town to play on.
Borrego Springs is the perfect place for any Triathletes looking to train for an Ironman triathlon. The ultimate training ground for any short or long distance Ironman Triathlete.
Catch a Big Horn Sheep or two in the Palm Canyon Trails or visit the wonderful 129 metal sculptures in the Galleta Meadows situated throughout the Borrego Valley. The property was fantastic in all respects. We especially appreciated how well-stocked the home was. We had absolutely everything we needed and more. It was a beautiful spot and the owners obviously take great pride in the home. I'd definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives. When we return to Borrego Springs, we will try to stay here again if at all possible. The owner also made sure we had references to restaurants, amenities, and areas of interest. We thank them for a most enjoyable stay at their home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We LOVED this house! It was so peaceful in Borrego Springs with beautiful views over the mountains. We really enjoyed sitting out on the patio for breakfast and for a BBQ meal in the evening. The house itself was very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a vacation. I loved the ornaments in the house! We had the pool and hot tub to ourselves while we were there, which we liked. From the patio, we watched humming birds, a desert hare, frogs and an egret. It was a wonderful, relaxing stay. Trish, the owner, was very prompt answering our queries and gave lots of information about what to see and do in Borrego Springs. We definitely will return to the house - I wish I was there now!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We enjoyed the Borrego Springs area and Southern California desert sun in full comfort at this lovely home, The space was perfect for us, with a roomy living area that opened out onto a lovely patio facing the western mountains and evening sunset. The neigborhood is pleasing and well-kept, and the tennis/swimming pool complex is nearby and attractive, Although the golf course is permanently closed and dried out, the golf cart paths made for great walking and bike-riding, and also birdwatching and animal sighting. We loved seeing the occasional roadrunner, rabbit and egret. Owners Trish and Todd provided loads of activity and dining ideas, and they were happily available to answer our questions before, during and after our stay. We hope to return--maybe next year. We can't imagine a nicer place to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was our first time to Borrego...celebrating our wedding anniversary. This property is beautiful and immaculately maintained. The surrounding property was full of surprises.... Each evening we encountered tons of brightly colored frogs/toads hopping through the landscape. The patio has amazing views...total privacy. AC worked like a charm in the 100+ degree heat. And the pool and jacuzzi...great way to end both nights. Lots of trails to explore and take a late night stroll. Not to mention the night sky.... Unbelievably bright. Never seen so many stars. It is easy to see why someone would fall in love with this quiet and captivating desert. In fact... We are planning our trip back now. Best adult vacation EVER. Thanks!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

House is in a great location with full amenities and very clean. Love the view from the patio. The inside patio is great when the wind kicks up. Very quiet. Pool area was extremely important when the weather turned 106. The golf course is not in working condition, so the pictures of the course are not quite accurate. The owner was very accommodating and easy to work with. Fonts Point should not be missed.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this vacation property. The house was clean and vibrant, the furnishings were modern and interesting, and everything we needed (towels, linens, pots & pans, etc) was right at our fingertips. The gorgeous desert views could be seen throughout the many full length windows in the house and the patio was equipped with lounging chairs, patio tables and BBQ. This was perfect for our family dinner! We hope to come back and spend even more time at this hidden gem in the desert.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The home is well-maintained, pretty, and very clean. It is a cozy two-bedroom but there was enough room to add a queen inflatable mattress in the master bedroom for my two kids. The mattresses on the beds were comfortable and the linens were all of good quality. The master bath is huge. It is located in a gorgeous gated community (a little ghostly, thanks to the economic downturn, but all the homes are immaculate and the area is lovely.) There is a golf course right off the back of the house, which is not maintained for the time being, so the grass is brown. I thought it looked really cool, even prettier than a normal green course. The house has a big TV with a DVD player and comfortable furniture. The kitchen is well-stocked with pans, dishes, utensils and so forth (even some pretty good knives,) so cooking for yourself isn't problematic. There are tennis courts and pools in the neighborhood for the residents to use, so if you've got kids this place is perfect. The owners are helpful and seem really nice. They'll give you their cell phone number, and they seem quite concerned that you enjoy your stay. This was my first VRBO experience, but since it was a way better place to lodge than a hotel for about the same price, with a more personal touch, it won't be my last. And there are no weird hotel smells!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Wow Sidney, thanks for the great review. Todd and I try really hard to make sure you have a great experience at our home. We love sharing our home and beautiful Borrego, we hope you can come back again when you need a desert fix and some time away from it all! Thanks again and October is one of the best months out there, maybe then. Todd and Trish

We had a great 2 1/2 month stay in this lovely home - great view and very comfortable. Owners were more than just helpful. Home is well decorated and has everything you need. Deck and courtyard are also well equiped with lots of comfy chairs and lounges. Would highly reccomend this home and hope to meet Tish and Todd sometime. You'll enjoy your stay here for sure! Borrego Springs is very relaxing and we found the restaurants good. The Center Market is limited but we got by without having to go to Palm Springs for groceries. No Iams dog food was the only problem. Ordered from Walmart. Hope you'll have a chance to see this wonderful area. Weather was great the whole time.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners.
Owner response: Hi Don and Barb, You both were the perfect guests and we sure enjoyed talking with you by phone. I hope we will meet up when you come back to Borrego next year. Thank you again for taking time to write us a review. We appreciate your taking such wonderful care of our home and leaving it so clean.

What a wonderful place to enjoy the desert. This beautiful home -- in a peaceful, quiet setting -- is everything you need to relax your mind and listen to the wind and bullfrogs and watch the stars be blown around by a warm desert wind. The owners are attentive, friendly, helpful and have a relaxed, comfortable sense of style. The perfect hosts. Really a great rental. I'm definitely returning.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you John for staying with us for the weekend. We hope you can find time in your busy schedule to return to Borrego, it's a great place to escape from city life.

Why the Owner Chose Borrego Springs:
Rams Hill in Borrego is a beautiful, peaceful and private desert community and offers one so much solitude. There are 3600 acres to roam on. The views are the best in the Borrego Valley since we sit up high. The sunrise in the mornings are the best at Rams Hill and was recently voted one the best places to watch the Sunrise by Sunset Magazine. Borrego is now one of the top places in the Nation according to USA Today to stargaze. The stars at night are better than any night sky that we have ever seen. Borrego was recently named an International Dark Sky Community, there are no stoplights in Borrego, no traffic, no pollution, no noise, no big box stores or chains. Our home at Rams Hill is surrounded by 650,000 acres of state park and will never get over developed and turn into a concrete jungle like Palm Springs. This is the real desert! It's not about what's here, it's about what's not here!!!!!!!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The views from the living room and master bedroom are some of the best on the Rams Hill property. The view is open and inspiring. The Santa Rosa Mountains are seen from every window in the living room. Indian Head can be seen from the master bed. BBQ's, sitting around the firepit, listening to the birds, watching the spectacular sunrise and sunsets are just a few things that we enjoy. The privacy, the peace and quiet, the night sky are some of the unique benefits of staying at our home. Nature is everywhere on this property from the owls to the jack rabbits, to the coyotes, to the selection of birds-a bird watchers paradise. It is never crowded ever here and offers one so much peace and solitude. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! You will not be disappointed in this private retreat and jem of a place to relax. Borrego Springs was recently awarded the prestigious International Dark Sky Community Certification and has long been a haven for stargazers, both professional and amateur. Rated by USA Today as one of the top 10 stargazing locations in the nation. Everytime we walk out our door at night we can't help but look up at the night sky. We are always in awe of the darkness and these magnificent stars above, we feel so lucky to be blessed with the most amazing place to stargaze. There aren't many places like this left in Southern California. Not everyone will get it and we hope you will be one of the lucky ones to visit one of the best kept secrets close to millions of people in San Diego.
