House is in a great location with full amenities and very clean. Love the view from the patio. The inside patio is great when the wind kicks up. Very quiet. Pool area was extremely important when the weather turned 106. The golf course is not in working condition, so the pictures of the course are not quite accurate. The owner was very accommodating and easy to work with. Fonts Point should not be missed.

This was our first time to Borrego...celebrating our wedding anniversary. This property is beautiful and immaculately maintained. The surrounding property was full of surprises.... Each evening we encountered tons of brightly colored frogs/toads hopping through the landscape. The patio has amazing views...total privacy. AC worked like a charm in the 100+ degree heat. And the pool and jacuzzi...great way to end both nights. Lots of trails to explore and take a late night stroll. Not to mention the night sky.... Unbelievably bright. Never seen so many stars. It is easy to see why someone would fall in love with this quiet and captivating desert. In fact... We are planning our trip back now. Best adult vacation EVER. Thanks!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this vacation property. The house was clean and vibrant, the furnishings were modern and interesting, and everything we needed (towels, linens, pots & pans, etc) was right at our fingertips. The gorgeous desert views could be seen throughout the many full length windows in the house and the patio was equipped with lounging chairs, patio tables and BBQ. This was perfect for our family dinner! We hope to come back and spend even more time at this hidden gem in the desert.

The home is well-maintained, pretty, and very clean. It is a cozy two-bedroom but there was enough room to add a queen inflatable mattress in the master bedroom for my two kids. The mattresses on the beds were comfortable and the linens were all of good quality. The master bath is huge. It is located in a gorgeous gated community (a little ghostly, thanks to the economic downturn, but all the homes are immaculate and the area is lovely.) There is a golf course right off the back of the house, which is not maintained for the time being, so the grass is brown. I thought it looked really cool, even prettier than a normal green course. The house has a big TV with a DVD player and comfortable furniture. The kitchen is well-stocked with pans, dishes, utensils and so forth (even some pretty good knives,) so cooking for yourself isn't problematic. There are tennis courts and pools in the neighborhood for the residents to use, so if you've got kids this place is perfect. The owners are helpful and seem really nice. They'll give you their cell phone number, and they seem quite concerned that you enjoy your stay. This was my first VRBO experience, but since it was a way better place to lodge than a hotel for about the same price, with a more personal touch, it won't be my last. And there are no weird hotel smells!
Owner response:Wow Sidney, thanks for the great review. Todd and I try really hard to make sure you have a great experience at our home. We love sharing our home and beautiful Borrego, we hope you can come back again when you need a desert fix and some time away from it all! Thanks again and October is one of the best months out there, maybe then. Todd and Trish

What a wonderful place to enjoy the desert. This beautiful home -- in a peaceful, quiet setting -- is everything you need to relax your mind and listen to the wind and bullfrogs and watch the stars be blown around by a warm desert wind. The owners are attentive, friendly, helpful and have a relaxed, comfortable sense of style. The perfect hosts. Really a great rental. I'm definitely returning.
Owner response:Thank you John for staying with us for the weekend. We hope you can find time in your busy schedule to return to Borrego, it's a great place to escape from city life.

We had a great 2 1/2 month stay in this lovely home - great view and very comfortable. Owners were more than just helpful. Home is well decorated and has everything you need. Deck and courtyard are also well equiped with lots of comfy chairs and lounges. Would highly reccomend this home and hope to meet Tish and Todd sometime. You'll enjoy your stay here for sure! Borrego Springs is very relaxing and we found the restaurants good. The Center Market is limited but we got by without having to go to Palm Springs for groceries. No Iams dog food was the only problem. Ordered from Walmart. Hope you'll have a chance to see this wonderful area. Weather was great the whole time.
Owner response:Hi Don and Barb, You both were the perfect guests and we sure enjoyed talking with you by phone. I hope we will meet up when you come back to Borrego next year. Thank you again for taking time to write us a review. We appreciate your taking such wonderful care of our home and leaving it so clean.

Todd and Trish, Thank you so much for allowing me stay at your beautiful home in Borrego. It was just what I needed, Quiet and relaxing. I enjoyed the beautiful skies, stars at night and sunrise's. The warm lap pool, hikes, watching a lot of football and well doing a whole lot of nothing. This beautiful home has everything you need. I needed this timeout to reflex and re-group. I will be back and soon.
Owner response:Thanks RJ, it sounds like you appreciated everything we love about Borrego! Please come stay again sometime.

We enjoyed spending the month of January in the sunshine at Montesoro. This vacation rental is well-sited for watching wildlife at the pond, as well as golfers at the sandtrap. We saw lots of different geese, ducks and other birds. One afternoon we even had a roadrunner calling from the top of the house! An added bonus was the agave starting its flower spike just before we left. It 2 days it had grown about 10 inches. Our dogs loved the pet park. They thought it was AWESOME! Our whole family liked the quiet neighborhoods and places to walk around the development. The owners were especially helpful in getting us in a day early so we didn't have a gap between vacation rentals in Borrego Springs. The fountain in the inner courtyard provided a very soothing background. We liked the various sayings in the artwork sprinkled around the property, too. We love Borrego Springs and the Galleta Meadows sculptures scattered around town. We plan to make more visits to the area.
Owner response:Hi Marcy and Dick, You were wonderful guests and we would love to have you back anytime. Thank you so much for staying with us and writing us such a nice review. We cannot be out there right now since Todd and I are busy working and glad you were able to enjoy our home for a month. Please come back next year, the ducks will be waiting for you and the dog park will miss you and your doggies! Thank you again, Todd and Trish Haskell

Trish and Todd: Thank you so much for sharing your incredible place in Borrego. The views of the mountains, golf course and lake are beautiful. We had great wildlife sitings of Canadian geese, rabbits, roadrunners, etc....all from the back patio! Enjoying the incredible night sky beside your fire pit was truly a pleasure. Your place provides the perfect get away and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back! Susan and Kip Howard

Todd and Trish's rental is a hidden gem of a place. It's in a development that's not overly developed - big plus. So you have all the amenities (pool, tennis, golf) without the crowds. The house is well maintained and laid out nicely - the bedrooms are far enough apart to offer privacy. And while there are other houses next to you, the design is such that you do not see or feel anything but out there by your lonesome. All you see out of the huge light-filled windows and off of the lovely patio is earth and sky. Borrego Springs itself is a funky little desert town, in a good way. It's developed enough to sustain some nice restaurants and a fabulous health food store (Tish's) but not so much that you feel like you're in another been-there-done-that cookie cutter place. We were there for the hiking and to spend time in the desert - love the Ocotillos and Teddy Bear Chollas! And when we weren't out in the park, we were relaxing by the pool. Thanks for sharing your wonderful place. We look forward to a return visit.
Owner response:Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review on your experience in Borrego and at our home. We love sharing our place with others and feel you got what Borrego is all about. I am glad you found Tish at the health food store and experienced some of the local restaurants. I hope you will come back again someday. Thanks again, Trish Haskell

Hello Haskells! Matt and I wanted to take the time to tell you that we had such an amazing weekend. Your house is absolutely adorable... and very romantic I might add! We did it all- the refreshing swimming in the olympic-size pool, sun bathing, grilling, and watching the sunset over dinner. And you were right about the sunset- it was fabulous! I also wanted to thank you for having all of the amenities that a home would have so we didn't have to pack too much. I would absolutely recommend staying at your home if you want a nice, relaxing weekend with the one you love. We will definitely be back again soon! Thanks again for letting us stay in your charming Borrego retreat! -Kristina Gresh

We had a very enjoyable time at this beautiful home in Borrego Springs. Going in July as we did definitely incurs extremes in weather; 113 degrees one day and rain the next. The benefit of going then is that you pretty much have the complex to yourself. Everything is provided and the elegance is right up there with many of the 5 star resorts we have enjoyed.
Owner response:Greg, you are so sweet to take the time to write us a review on your stay. I hope you will come back when the temperatures are not so high. Todd and I enjoy going out in the summer because we do have the place to ourselves and love the mornings and evenings out there! Thanks again for staying with us.

Gorgeous views! Very comfortable, peaceful, and well-maintained home with all of the amenities. Owners pay attention to the details and go out of their way to ensure you have that ideal, always-sought, but sometimes illusory "everything works" and "everything looks just like the pictures" VRBO experience. Best lap pool in Borrego. Home is situated in a way that offers maximum privacy and still provides an open and airy feel. Great sunsets from the back patio. Hassle-free Wi-Fi and gas grill. I don't know how many homes we have rented in Borrego in which the gas cylinder is running on empty and the Internet doesn't really work. No worries here! You can grill your halibut and get a bit of work done without a problem. Two thumbs up!
Owner response:Matt and Bria, You are welcome back here anytime, we are so glad you enjoyed our home and your stay here in Borrego. It sounds like you know the area better than we do! Thanks for taking the time to write a nice review for us! We hope you come back again. Best Regards, Todd and Tirsh

What a great getaway. A short drive from San Diego and the next thing you know it's quite, peaceful, calm and just lovely. The views were amazing and I just didn't want to go anywhere once I got there. But also plenty to do. The hikes, pools, bike rides and walks were stunning. I would go back!

My wife, my sister, her husband, and I spent 4 days in the Haskell's Santa Fe Home and enjoyed every minute of the visit. The home is clean, comfortable and well appointed with a lovely patio. The rec center is the best in Montesoro with a great heated lap pool and spa. The main pool, however, is unheated and was cold. We would definitely like to rent from the Haskells again in the future.
Owner response:Thank you for staying with us, we love sharing Borrego with people since there are not many places like this left. Thank you for writing this review and I truly hope you will think of us again.

From our guest book in our home: Thank you for letting us use your beautiful desert retreat for my 35th Birthday. The view is amazing as well as this quiet town. The first nigh here we ate at Carlee's the locals were so friendly. The second day we went for a hike up Palm Canyon, highly recommend. That night we had local massage therapist come to the house, he was amazing and really reasonably prices, treat yourself his name is Paul Stratton and he lives a few minutes from here 760-271-4467. Our last day we spent relaxing by the pool. Thanks Todd for the great little birthday getaway.

Our experience in Borrego Springs was great! We stayed for two months. The weather was wonderful with a little bit of everything but mostly in the 70's. It was quiet and peaceful and the home takes advantage of beautiful views. Borrego Springs is wonderful if you love nature, hiking, lack of people. The home is very comfortable with a beautiful master suite and bath. We spent a great deal of time on the patio over-looking the golf course. Trish and Todd were wonderful to rent from suggesting restaurants, things to do, memorable hikes, etc. If you are planning a trip to find good weather, consider Trish and Todd's romantic home. It's a great place to get away from it all.
Owner response:Thank You for spending time and sharing your experience with us. We strive to make our guests feel at home and take pride in making sure everything is clean and in order when you arrive. Once again, thank you for staying with us and experiencing our romantic hideaway in Borrego.

+Howdy Trish and Todd... Many thanks for the use of your home.Dave and I have traveled far-and-wide and your home is as five-star as any place we've been...truely! I only wish my parents could have enjoyed it.Our stay here has enhanced what the desert has to offer. I 've left a few pics of the bighorns I frequently see on my daily bike ride on S -22,aka Montezuma Grade,on the wall next to the washing machine.I see them quite frequently between mile-post 14.5 and 13.0,beginning early February all through March, from 11:30 until about 2:30.It's easy to watch them for hours! Take your bonacs and scour the hillsides...they are there, watching us,watch them! And now it's off to San Jose to see my father through his final days...and in those days he will most surely remember the scenic vistas, colorful peaks and elusive borregos of the Anza Borrego wilderness. Thanks again, Terry D
