After a great day of visiting Franklin's local attractions you can relax on the 400 square foot covered porch or watch your favorite shows on the 27 inch TV. The cabin is completely furnished with high speed internet, satellite TV, stereo, VCR/DVD, washer/dryer, microwave, air conditioning, gas-log fireplace... We even provide the linens. There is a full kitchen complete with cooking utensils and a gas grill on the porch for the evenings that you decide to dine at "home".
Wildlife is abundant for those who enjoy nature. Hummingbirds, deer, wild turkeys, racoons and an occassional skunk all make their homes around the cabin, and have been seen by many visitors. Thank you again Jay family for sharing PARADISE with us. We felt like we were in a private treehouse in the forest. We absolutely loved every minute we spent in your sweet Moose Lodge. The hummingbirds and fireflies were like a breathe of fresh air. Had we stayed in a hotel, our trip would have been nice, but we couldn't wait to get back "home" every night to enjoy our cabin. This is the second time my son and I have stayed at this beautiful secluded cabin (actually a house built like a cabin). The 1st time was 4 years ago when my son was 10. We came for the mining and the relaxation. My son has traveled all over the world, Germany, Carribean, England, Florida (Disney and Orlando) yet he remembers this as his favorite vacation spot. When I asked him this year where he wanted to go if he could go anywhere it was here. So we traveled to this beautiful remote cabin and enjoyed ourselves again. This time being older we were also able to enjoy the nearby whit water rafting, horse back riding, mining (of course), and the great people of North Carolina with their awesome hospitality. I just want to thank you again and we will be seeing you soon.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This charming little is exactly as listed in the rental description. We instantly felt at home and there were lots of little touches that showed the consideration of the owners. The cabin was clean, well-maintained, comfortable, quiet and secluded. The owners were very easy to work with and we definitely hope to stay there again. We managed a little gem mining (even though it was quite cold) and a visit into town. Everyone was very friendly and we look forward to our next visit.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+.
