The Georgetown Island Guest House is an historic farmhouse (c.1895), completely restored and available for rent. This wonderful old home is perfect for weddings, events, small groups & families. It has 10 foot ceilings, wide-plank maple floors, Victorian parlor stoves and is furnished with folk art and antiques from around the world.
There are four bedrooms sleeping 8-9 people, (the master suite has cathedral ceilings and a loft with 150 year old beams); three artistically renovated bathrooms (using copper, slate, carved stone); and a large modern kitchen overlooking the garden. Sit around the tavern table with family and friends, put up your feet, play cards in the game room, listen to great music ... take a walk past the creek to the screened gazebo, enjoy the grounds with flower beds, rock ledge, meadow and woods.
We are very close to pristine beaches, historic lighthouses, boating/kayaking, bird watching, hiking, a summer music festival, summer theater, golfing, antiquing/auctions, fishing/sailing, restaurants, etc. Consider cooking classes at the Robinhood Free Meeting House. We are five minutes from the Five Islands dock (for a lobster dinner)and the pristine ocean beaches at Reid State Park(we have free entrance passes), 10 minutes from historic Bath, 15 minutes from Wiscasset, and 30 minutes from Boothbay Harbor.
This guest house is a perfect base for fall foliage and winter sports (cross country skiing/snowshoeing) or simply relaxing in the country. Let us know if you are interested in catered dinners or tours and charters. We look forward to seeing you!

This house was something out of a design publication. The proprietor has spent her time and creativity to craft a unique setting in this spacious historic home on a beautifully landscapes lot. The rooms were all large and the common rooms plentiful and roomy. As a family with two small kids, I would caution that this is not your typical cozy beach house. For example, the house has no couches, the closest thing being an antique settee, no comfy rugs to sit and play (think antique orientals and animal hide rugs) and lacks the practical pieces of a family beach vacation (hooks for beach towels etc.). That said, this house was a treat for our kids with it's own brand of character and the magic only an old house brings. It would make a fantastic couples getaway. Finally, house needed a little cleaning once we got there yet included a cleaning fee. The house was otherwise well maintained and the proprietor incredibly responsive to our stay. Make sure to have evening drinks at the nearby Osprey, dinner at Robinhood Meeting House as adults and early dinner with turnouts at Five Islands Lobster Co.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We loved our stay. The house is so much more lovely and full of character than the pictures can show! There is enough space (and bathrooms) for everyone to have plenty of privacy, but large beautiful rooms such as the dining room for plenty of togetherness too. Maine State beach pass a big plus for families!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, girls getaway.
