Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 1
One of the Best Location for a vacation in Paris !
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
The cafes, shops and restaurants around, the farmer's market each day of the week, the romantic streets and the friendlyness of the local people
Owner's Map of Paris Arrondissement 1
You want to enjoy your trip to Paris to the most...? ....
There are a number of prime locations, all over town, and none is better than another.
Yes, there are some best areas but not one single best area !
Tip #1: using mappy fr as your best tool to discover the ressources of Paris, you can visualize easily the hotels and restaurants that are surrounding a defined address, and that will tell you if it is attractive to toursits or not.
Tip #2 : before making your decision, get professional advice from people with proven records and qualifications, discard the anonymous blogs and alike, whichever their sponsors, they don't take any responsability whatsoever.
While those who have been several time to Paris will select more particularly Paris 1st, 6th, 7th, Butte Montmartre, and, of course, Le Marais, each neighborhood has it's own personality and lifestryle, and if you want to make a success of your stay in Paris, your main question should be : does the personality and the lifestyle of that neighborhood matches my expectations ?

Large apartment with plenty of room for two couples, or a palace for one couple. Great location in Montmartre, close to restaurants and the Metro. A small market steps away and a boulangerie around the corner. In the heart of it all. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet place in Montmartre close to all the amenities.

We were very happy with our stay at this UsaParis apt. We had rented one of their apartments near the Eiffel Tower in November 2010 and it was a great experience too. For those who are traveling on a budget and want the maximum value for their money, these 2 apartments are definitively a great experience. This very particular area of Paris, called Butte Montmartre, is truly like a village in the center of the town, with tons of delicious food shops, wine shops, tons of cafes, restaurants, the best croissants and the best bakery of France ( as advertized on their window.. ) The people there are very happy and relax, so this became our preferred spot in Paris. The apartment itself is not recommended for overweighted persons, and for those who are expecting spacious rooms. First of all, in Paris everything is smaller, and second, this apt. is even smaller than the average, but for us it did not matter at all, and we knew that for that price we could not even get a decent 1 Bedroom. And yes, we had been informed by the UsaParis bookings staff about the size of the apt. and we had read their descriptions and the reviews here, which, for the most, are reflecting what we found.

These photos for this apartment were taken with wide-angle lens and bright light, completely distorting the proportions of the rooms. Note that this apartment is something like 500 sq feet. Also, the internet service had been turned off because of owner not paying bill. We also had no phone or tv service. The apartment smelled like a urine-soaked diaper the whole time we were there. We actually found one in the hamper during our stay. Was like the apartment had been hastily evacuated by tenant with child. The place was quiet except for one night when upstairs neighbors made major nighttime noise which was quite embarrassing to have to listen to.
Owner response:Thank you for your comments, I am sorry to hear that there was a baby diaper left. After investigating the previous tenant who had a baby had come back to change him after our cleaning team had done the job, without our permission, after they had not given the keys back to our agent. We have rented this apt. since 10 years with an overwhelming number of positive feedbacks, of guests who were well aware of the compact size of it, in proportion with the highly affordable cost of the accomodation for a 2 bedroom with 2 bathrooms.. We had had some misunderstandings about this in the past, therefore we placed all these disclaimers on our ads on VRBO and website, and our booking agents are systematically drawing the attention of our future guests about the issue. Therefore, since me made it so clear about the size of the apt,, we don't believe that your remarks about that particular issue are particularly relevant. As far as the disturbances of neighbors are concerned, we are sorry to hear that, these are tenants of another owner in the building, and we have filed a complaint to that owner and to the condo association. All in one, we had hundreds of bookings with this apt., very successful, and we are sorry to hear that your experience was not satisfactory.

We are 2 couples of seasoned travelers, and over time and experience, we came to the following criteria, when chosing a vacation rental : 1. The location must be in a place with many shops, restaurants, cafes, groceries, bakeries, art galleries, antique shops etc., all at walking distance. 2. public transportation must be plenty and nearby too 3. The apartment does not need to be large, but we don't want to spend hours waiting for the bathroom in the morning, nor go all the way to the laundromat to clean our clothes. 4. All of the above must be pleasant. Well, this is exactly what we found with this very smart compromise. We loved the fashion shops across the street, the art gallery around the corner, and the 3 bakeries nearby, all delicious. Within 20 yards, we had 2 nice restaurants and within 100 yards, they became countless. The Cafes rue des Abbesses are great. This is a very busy and trendy spot, still genuinely Parisian. With practically no cars around, it has an ambiance of village. It was very easy to visit the other sites with the bus and the metro. Bus 95 takes you to the Louvre in 15 minutes, Bus 80 takes you to the Champs Elysees, to the boat trips to the Eiffel Tower, and bus 69 takes you to Le Marais and the Latin Quarter. The metro station is a couple of minutes away too, but we preferred the busses, Gare du Nord - Eurostar to London - is at walking distance too. Usaparis, the management company, was very helpful. We had no light in the bedroom, and they came within 20 minutes after we called them to fix the problem. Their driver took us at Charles de Gaulle, helped us with our luggage and brought us right to the apartment. I would recommend this vacation rental without hesitation.

We had been a few times to Paris before and had visited this romantic area of Montmartre hill where all the great painters used to paint and live. We loved the atmosphere there, so we decided this time for this tiny 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apt. that was very budget-friendly, located right were we loved to visit earlier. This ended up being one of our nicest Parisian experiences. The apt was nicely decorated, very well equipped and comfortable for 2 couples. We had no issue with the second toilet located outside ! It was very small, though. The building is also small and quiet, and there is only one or 2 neighbors. The staircase needs some renovation. The street is typical from the area, with practically no cars passing. The beautiful and much visited grocery of Amelie Poulenc was our neighbor. The workshop of Picasso was also around the corner. In a radius of less than 100 yards we could find 3 bakeries with delicious French baguettes and croissants, multiple restaurants, cafes, fruits legumes, wine or fine cheese stores, italian, greek, french traiteurs, a metro station, a bus stop and much more. We liked the ambiance of The Place du Tertre nearby, with the painters painting their artworks in front of the tourists. It was also very easy to get to all the other major sites of Paris by bus or metro. I highly recommend this place for those who want to enjoy the best of Paris without hurting their budget. One recommendation: over-weighted persons are likely not to be comfortable in that environment.
Owner response:Thank you very much for your comments, they are up to the point ! At UsaParis we strive to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and Customer Service is our #1 priority. You definitively made a very good choice, and it was not an easy one ! This area is not as faous as the Latin Quarter or Le Marais, but for many of our customers, after experiencing it, it supersedes them without hesitation. We hope to see you back soon !

We liked the Amelie Poulenc and Butte Montmartre area of this apt, all was just there at our doorstep, restaurants, fine food stores, groceries, fruits and legumes, bakeries all over the place with nice french bread and succulent croissants and othe parisian specialties. It was also very easy to visit other sites of Paris by using the numerous bus lines around. The apt itself is small, just like our budget was, but with 2 separate (tiny!) bathrooms, and a separate second toilet just outside the apt, we could manage quite well, with our group of 5. We had rented a vacation apt. in Barcelona, just before, and we found out that it was very uncomfortable to have only one full bath for 5 people. So this was really OK, although not the perfect layout one may think of, and not recommended for over-weighted people. To find a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apt. in Paris is very hard, unless your budget is over EUR 300/night, which was not our case, so we ended up being very happy with this nice compromise. The apt. was looking like it had been recently upgraded, and also the building, but the entrance hall and the staircase definitively need some renovation works, which the owner said they were planning to do soon.

We stood 10 days in that small but cleverly organized apt. We felt a good energy from the place, and were very happy to stay there. It's quite small, but has everything you need, and is wonderfully located, in an area of Paris beyond charming and romantic. It was priced half of the second one we booked also with UsaParis, located by the Eiffel Tower, with 2 bathrooms also, that was definitively of a superior category. We had searched for quite a while and no other owner could beat the special price we got for this apt. It had just been renovated, and also the facade and the courtyard. All in one, this apt. was a smart compromise for us to keep our budget within limits, despite the small superficy. The quality of the service of UsaParis was beyond expectation, all the way ! Friendly staff, perfect English, perfect knowledge of Paris, impeccable cleaning, always eager to assist. A successful experience, highly recommend !
Owner response:Hi Jody ! Thank you for your nice review. At UsaParis we try our best to have you guys enjoy your stay in Paris, and I am glad that you had a very nice stay. You told me that it was finally not a good decision to take the railway from the airport to the apartment, with all your luggage and the connections, and most of all the effects of the jet lag etc...Next time please contact me and I will organize a discount on our driver service that will go and pick you up at the airport and carry your luggage too. The place is only 20 minutes away from Charles de Gaulle by car, so this will be your best bet for next time ! Hoping to see you soon ! Sacha - UsaParis Florida PS : Greetings from Anthony too

Separate WC

The seperate WC is not located in the apartment. I assumed it would be and was disappointed to learn it was 1/2 flight of stairs down from apartment. Your alternatives are to walk through the 2nd bedroom (disturbing that sleeper) to get to the WC in the apartment, or unlock the door, go down the stairs and use the colder WC off the stairwell. Be sure to lock it because others use the stairwell. Not enough towels provided for 6 people.
Owner response:Mislaeading review, because there is only 1 occupant in that small building other than my apt. Therefore, the few steps from the entrance is really no big deal. This group was booked for 4 adults, not sure why they ended up with 6 persons ? The apt. is small but has a fantastic location. It is ideal for those on a budget becuase it offers 1 small full bath + a separate shower and a separate toilet, even though it's outside the apt.
