Location: Margaretville, Catskills, New York, USA
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 2 Baths (Sleeps 8)
Keywords: House
This lovely home is on the edge of town. You can walk to the village, yet look out from almost any window of the house and see the rustic countryside that is so characteristic of the region. You can sit on the back deck and “watch the world go by” or if you want complete privacy you can retreat to the front deck and enjoy a view of the woods and stream that flows just beneath the deck. It is particularly breathtaking in the fall. The house is uniquely designed so that you can experience the beauty of nature all around you without going outside. It is a perfect vacation spot for “city folk” who want to spend time in the country but do not want to be too isolated.
The house has two bedrooms that can comfortably accommodate four people and a loft that can sleep at least two persons. Lovers of books and good music will enjoy choosing reading materials from the many bookcases that are located throughout the house and listening to an eclectic collection of CD's. DVD's and videotapes are also available for use on the combination VCR and DVD player that is in the loft. The loft also has an area for reading and study and is an ideal place for the author to either begin and/or develop a manuscript. Puzzles as well as, games, like Scrabble, Monopoly and Bingo are also available.
If you desire a break from a fast-paced life and want an oasis where perhaps your creative juices can flow more freely, you will enjoy a stay at this village chalet.

Our group of 1 1/2 families stayed here during a long weekend of Jan 2010. We were exceedingly pleased. The house looks quite like these pictures, only better. It is beautifully and comfortably furnished, in the Mission/Craftsman style. Spotlessly clean. The owner thoughtfully left a cot open in the loft area, so the 3 kids could all sleep up there. It is a very large space up there, with its own bath and shower.. Margaretville is a charming little town, barely 14 mintues from Belleyaire mountain. There's a large supermarket in town, and restaurants with an artsy, hippy vibe. The owners were gracious, and took pains and expense to send the key to us before we arrived.

Our family enjoyed our stay in Margaretville. The village Chalet was well kept, plenty of room, the children loved the loft area. The owner was very helpful giving us information about different activities in the area. The location was great as we enjoyed our short, daily walk to the town for the shops, groceries, bakery (The Flour Patch), and restaurants. The weather was very cool and sunny. I would definitely recommend this home if you choose to stay in this area. Our week's vacation was wonderful.

We were there during the July 4th weekend and had a blast. It is a very nice, clean and well maintained chalet, only two minutes from the village center where there is a quaint little bookstore, nice cafes and restaurants, grocery store and shops. We were there only for two nights, during which we had great food, saw the country fair and even the fireworks on 3rd July night, right from the balcony. Sorry we had to leave on 4th. so missed the 4th of July fireworks, but can only imagine how beautiful it must be.

“This is a lovely home, and my family had a thoroughly enjoyable stay there for a New Years' week ski trip. The two adjoining bedrooms downstairs were perfect for my son and his family, and the upstairs loft was ideal for my husband and I. The location on the edge of town was conveniently within walking distance to town, and Belleayre Mountain was about 15 minutes away.”—AP, New Jersey.
