Water front home completed June, 2006. Located just nine miles up the beach from the end of Highway 12 and accessible only by four-wheel drive. The Northern Beaches of North Carolina seem to have been set aside for those vacationers looking for a good old fashioned vacation. Our home is located on a secluded canal-front lot about 1000 feet from the beach.
Our home offers a unique choice, to play in the canal, which has direct sound access or to go to the beach and feel the warm sand between your toes. While on the beach you can watch the Dolphins gliding through the ocean or watch the Pelicans overhead. However, our favorite visitors are the Spanish Mustangs that visit from time to time. This herd of horses roam freely on the Northern beaches and are truly a joy to watch. Our home has wonderful ocean views from the upper deck so after a long day of play, you can relax in the 7 person hot tub on the upper deck and watch the sunsets over the sound.
On the days when you are beached or sounded out, just a short drive to the North, you can visit False Cape State Park and take a nature hike. To the South, climb the Corolla Lighthouse. You're in for a treat when you finally reach the top. The Whalehead Club is a fun tour and has a great outdoor park with great views of Currituck Sound. Tim Buck II is a neat shopping and dining experience. Our favorite restaurants in Corolla are North Banks, The Grille Room and the Route 12 Restaurant. Further South is the Village of Duck. This is another fun place to roam and shop. Restaurant recommendations in Duck are the Red Sky Cafe and the Roadside.
The Wright Brothers Memorial is a must and maybe take in your first flight. Visit Jockeys Ridge, climb the dunes and maybe learn to hang glide. About 60 miles to the south is Cape Hatteras, a scenic drive worth taking. In Manteo, visit the beautiful Elizabethan Gardens, and if you go, stay and see The Lost Colony an outdoor live theater experience. A visit to our home will have you coming back year after year.

Just returned from our week in your house and have to say it was incredible!!! The house was perfect and in a great location. We have stayed in Carova before but this has to be the best house we have stayed in. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could have needed, we used the gas grill on one occasion and cooked in the kitchen on the other days. The view from the deck was great. The horses came by everyday we were there...one morning greating us at the front door as we were getting breakfast ready. The hot tub was very relaxing after a day of driving around the area visiting both national and state parks in the area. I can't say enough to both Brian and Susan for sharing their home with us. It was a very good and relaxing time and could not have asked for anything more....oh yeah the fireplace was very nice since we did have a couple of cold nights there. Thanks again for everything. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice place to get away from it all.

We cannot say enough about how wonderful our vacations have been while staying at your home in Carova. This was our second stay at Inn Sea Sun and we are already planning our return trip for next year. The house location is perfect for our family. We enjoy being a little farther up the beach. I am always a little concerned with the traffic on the beach since we have small children, but we just hope in the truck and take a short drive up to the fence at the NC/VA border and let the kids play there where there aren't any moving vehicles. The horses visited every day and we even saw some deer run through the yard. Having the canal right there is perfect! We brought a couple of kayaks as well as used the boats that are there at the house. The house is stocked with everything we could want or need - everything from sheets to sandwich baggies, baby gates to beach umbrellas... Our family also loves the layout of the house. The main living area is on the top floor. It is a large open area with lots of room for everyone to be together yet still doing their own thing. Thank you Brian and Susan for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful beach home!! We'll be back for sure!!

01/11/2010 Our family spent Christmas and New Years at the beach house and it was a perfect getaway. Reasonably out of the way but only 15 minutes from groceries, restaurants, etc. Brian and Susan were most helpful and considerate in ensuring that we had a great vacation. We are a family of six and the children range from 18 to 24. What makes this home perfect for us was the great room on the top level. We could each be doing something different (watch a movie, surf the net, do a jigsaw puzzle, read a book and cook) all at the same time but be together. The horses visited almost everyday and after a couple of weeks you get to know each of the families. Only a three to five minute walk to the beach for a stroll. The home was in immaculate condition and had everything we needed to make a memorable vacation....in fact we found out that our daughter had become engaged while on the deck overlooking the canal!! Thanks once again.

Susan & Brian, we thank you for a great Carova Beach experience. The house was in great shape, absolutely accommodating in every way and very well stocked. We found everything we needed to have a great week from entertainment to kitchen to outdoor gear. We really enjoyed the remote location and wild horses as well. This is now one of our family’s cherished memories of Thanksgiving. You both were a pleasure to work with and your attention to detail and willingness to be sure all was perfect was much appreciated. Thanks again, The Gonos Family.

Brian & Susan, Thank you for the use of your wonderful house. It was more than we had even expected. Cooking was a breeze; we found everything we needed. The wildlife was fantastic, seeing the horses roaming freely and swimming the waterway! What an experience to drive the beach for the 1st time pulling a 4x8 trailer w/ our Suburban. It can be done! We were blessed with great weather and we all enjoyed ourselves so much and really hated to leave. We will definately come back again and would gladly to refer family & friends to you. The house is much more beautiful and well equipped than the photos show, it seems that you've thought of everything. The Wise & Grant Family

Brian & Susan, WOW!! That about sums up our vacation to your lovely home. Your house and Thanksgiving week together made it such a memorable experiance, Not to mention the Nor'Easter and 70 MPH winds. No problem being nestled among the trees, we enjoyed our time indoors with games, books, and a huge dvd selection that would rival most rental stores. Oh, and dont forget the kitchen of kitchens a chefs paradise. Thanks again see you soon!!

We just got home and wanted to let you know that we loved your home and had a great time! Everything was lovely and so nice and new. We took care to keep it that way and leave it that way. Tha kids want to go back next year so we'd like to be in touch about that. My compliments to the chef on the kitchen. I love to cook and was pleased to find good quality cookware, not a thing missing, and decent sized bowls for once! I could've spent the whole month there easily. What a great place you have!
