Casa Flamboyan, a spectacular, colorful, oceanfront home, takes complete advantage of its perfect location - from every vantage point in each suite you can see the Bay of Mujeres - with sailboats anchored and Cancun in the distance and the Caribbean Ocean with its incredible shades of turquoise, green, and blue. You can see sunrises and sunsets from inside and from beautiful decks on both sides of the house. A two-story, three-suite, stunning, contemporary Mexican retreat, Casa Flamboyan was designed by renowned Mexican artist and architect Jorge Carlos Martell Correa.
Guests will appreciate the contemporary Mexican motif, the beautiful custom wood furnishings, original art, and the attention to detail. The owners provide all the perfect amenities necessary for an island vacation along with tropical breezes and warm hospitality.
Casa Flamboyan offers three private rental suites. All the suites - Rojo, Real, and Azul - are bright, airy, and beautifully decorated with original art and hand-made furniture crafted at a sustainable forest project south of Tulum on the way to Chetumal. All the suites enjoy spectacular views and breezes from every room.
Guests in each of the three suites enjoy complete privacy. Public gathering areas of the house include the full bayside palapa porch for enjoying the sunset with cocktails or for sharing lunch while watching the sailboats in the bay; the freshwater infinity pool with an expansive deck overlooking the Caribbean; and the rooftop with its beautiful 360-degree view - a lovely spot to rest in the hammocks or sunbathe in privacy and experience the relaxing life of Isla Mujeres.
On the Caribbean side of the house, there are stairs that lead to the coral beach - here you can comb the beach for shells and sea glass or search the tide pools for marine life. At night, you will want to sit on your private decks or the roof top and watch the stars in the sky - stars that seem so close you can touch them. In the morning, while you sip your coffee, each sunrise is more gorgeous than the morning before. Experience the delight of getting up early to see the first light of day.
On the bayside, the unusual palapa-roofed stair tower takes you to the second floor (Real and Azul) and then on to the roof top. The gourd light carved with flamboyan flowers was created for the house by an artisan in Puerto Morelos.
In each suite you will find a notebook that shares all the information you may need about the island - activities, helpful information, etc. - as well as personal recommendations for restaurants. Casa Flamboyan is easy walking distance - or just a short and inexpensive taxi ride - from downtown shops and restaurants, the ferry pier, and North Beach.
The three-level home consists of:
* Rojo - a first floor apartment with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, full kitchen, dining room, and an airy, step down living room. Rojo is large and spacious with sliding glass doors that open to the infinity pool on the Caribbean side and a spacious deck.
* Real and Azul — two complete one-bedroom apartments (with full kitchens) on the upper level. Each of these suites with curved walls, extraordinary bathrooms, and amazing views have a full palapa porch on the bay side and a private deck overlooking the Caribbean.
* Roof-top dinning, fiestas, sunning, stargazing, or relaxing on a hammock under a palapa.

Year Purchased: 2005
Why the Owner Chose Isla Mujeres
We love all the restaurants, sitting on the beach with our feet in the sand eating fish that was caught that day watching the sunset and colorful fishing boats.
The Unique Benefits at this House
A love of sailing has lead to the rehabilitation of a 34 foot Gemini Catamaran found in the islands boat yard and we now get to sail in the surreal Bay of Mujeres. Snorkeling, diving, fishing, swimming with the whales in the summer are available activities.

WE INVITE YOU VISIT CASA FLAMBOYAN ~ ISLA MUJERES, MEXICO
In May 2005, we came to the Isla Mujeres shopping for a house staying two doors North. We also went to the West coast of the Yucatan and upon seeing it immediately finalized our purchase of a one story two bedroom ocean front home.
We began the transformation of adding two one bedroom suites upstairs and a ocean side infinity pool. Finally, after building through Wilma in February 2006 we put the final touches on the house…and began welcoming guests.
We continue to be awed that our dream has come to fruition - actually, the reality is even better than we imagined. Casa Flamboyan enjoys a perfect spot with sunrises, sunsets, and, most of all, the extraordinary colors of the Caribbean and Bay of Mujeres.
We invite you to visit Casa Flamboyan - it and the island are a renewing and regenerating experience - a serene and idyllic spot for a vacation with friends and family.
Buenas vacaciones,
Harriet and Richard Lowe

Just enjoyed 4 relaxing days at Casa Flamboyan to round out a great 1st trip to Mexico. This house is very conveniently situated between town for restaurants and the great beaches of Castille de Garaffon & Playa Lancheros. Enjoyed Casa Flamboyan immensely!

We thoroughly enjoyed this private, well equipped, and relaxing environment. The outdoor spaces are sublime and the open shower was good clean fun! You know you've chosen the right rental property when after a brief road trip (2 nights in Tulum) we actually had that warm feeling that we were coming "home" to Casa Flamboyan. You contributed to our fabulous honeymoon!

Today isw the last day of our sojourn in Mexico - and a bittersweet one. When we planned our vacation here last year we wanted countryside (Campeche), city (Merida), and coast (Isla). We have visited Isla on and off over 15 years and have found it to be the one place my husband and I could really relax and have fun. This deepened our connection to the island, and the house in particular was instrumental in allowing us the space to contemplate memories, and most of all to feel restored. The daily sunrises and sunsets were a powerful reminder of life's natural rhythms and the Caribbean was alternatively wild and soothing, but oh so constant. Richard and Harriet, I know you know this, but your house is so special. We leave here having gathered strength and courage, we know this is only temporary. We'll certainly be back.

The accommodations, the island, the food, the people, the time alone was exactly, (if not more) than we had been looking for. Although the heat and humidity may keep people away this time of year, the trade off of no crowds, superior-bend over backwards service, peace, and tranquility was well worth it. A dip in the pool or the ocean was all one needed. What a way to celebrate our 30th Anniversary! Thanks to you and Lupe for your attention to detail and accurate representation of your accommodation.

We were fortunate enough to spend 2 weeks on this wonderful island, and in beautiful Casa Flamboyan! The Real apartment was perfect! There are so many places to hang out - the roof, poolside, our large deck with a view of the bay and sunsets, or our ocean front balcony with sunrises. We love how you can see water and the ocean from anywhere in the apartment! The place is spotless from top to bottom, thanks to Lupe's consistency & thoroughness. The high ceilings make the place spacious, and the natural light - even a skylight in the bathroom! - is wonderful. We spent much of our time here reading, swimming, relaxing. It is a nice short distance from downtown - close enough to walk, far enough to enjoy quiet. We rarely took a cab. and only rented a golf cart for 3 days. The walk home along the Malecon was nice after a large dinner! The island itself was wonderful. We marveled at how safe we felt walking home each evening - not sure we would have felt that way in Cancun. The island and Casa Flamboyan were a memorable experience we want to repeat.

This was our 7th time in Mexico/ 4th time in Yucatan/ Mayan Rivera, but Casa Flamboyan was by far the best place we've ever stayed - close enough to town to be walkable & convenient, yet lots of quiet and privacy too. All the amenities you could hope for (LOVE the blazing fast & ever on internet!) And not one, but two GREAT WATER VIEWS whether one looked east or west! Loved falling asleep & waking up to the sound of the ocean, & breakfast on the balcony, watching the waves. They are truly mesmerizing, I could watch them forever!!! The shower in Real is delightful! We have fallen in LOVE with Casa Flamboyan and Isla Mujeres. We will definitely be back!

We arrived midday from cold & blustery New York and within minutes, the sound of the waves and the fresh breeze lulled us to sleep. Definitely one of my best naps ever! Upon awakening Isla Mujeres offered all of the activities I wanted - sunning at Playa Norte, diving at Machones Reef, eating along Hildago and the bay, and strolling along the Malecon. lovely lodging, gorgeous sunrises & sunsets, just far enough from the action, and we loved the little touches (mood lighting, OJ in the fridge, shower tiles, skylights). Thanks for the fond memories!

Thank you for a beautiful home to spend our first time on Isla! The views are great! Its been quite a different experience from the "all inclusive"! Found lots of good food...loved the great places to eat and the folks who work at them...so much personality! We had a golf cart part of the time and had a ball discovering the fantastic island.

We had a wonderful time at Casa Flamboyan. We really must compliment you on the design and the attention to detail and light, not to mention color. We had a good time reading, relaxing. We are definitely going home feeling rested and relaxed... mission accomplished!

We couldn't have asked for a better vacation than the one we had here! Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was pure bliss...and romantic! We rented bikes and toured the island...A "must do" in my book. Just bring plenty of water and take a "SOL" break over by Castilla de Garrafon. Spent many lazy mornings combing the beach in front of the house for sea glass which I treasure like gems, as they are hard to find in the USA. Went to Playa Del Carmen for a day to do some shopping. It's a very easy trip - ferry - taxi to Cancun Bus terminal - 1 hr trip on bus. Great souvenir hunting, but very crowded and you see US prices - no wheeling and dealing. We had fun doing our tourist thing. Favorite restaurants were - Valesquez - great food seaside & cheap - Olivia's - Middle Eastern food...YUM!
