Looking to sun yourself on a beautiful beach? Fish, crab, jet ski, windsurf, boat, bird/pony watch, shop or just rest and read a book? Chincoteague Island and the Blue Heron vacation home is just the place to do it.

The Blue Heron is a beautiful three bedroom, one and a half bath home with central air conditioning, located on a cul-de-sac. Quiet, peaceful area, yet convenient to everything. Just two miles to downtown shops and an easy two mile bike ride to Asseteaque Island, where the ponies and beaches are. Often the local wildlife makes an appearance on the property, including deer, birds and toads.

Walk to crabbing/fishing piers, a deep-water marina on Chincoteague Channel and the trolley stop. (summers only).

The main floor includes the kitchen, dining room, living room, one bedroom, half bath and screened in porch. The kitchen is filled with everything you will need. The table allows seating for eight or more. The laundry closet is equipped with a new full-size washer and dryer.

The living/dining room includes a television with a VCR, DVD/CD player. The futon sofa converts to a full-size sleeper. There is a dining table that seats six to eight.

The first floor bedroom hosts a full-size bed.

Upstairs the front bedroom is furnished with two twin beds. The backroom is furnished with a queen-size bed. All bedroom rooms feature ceiling fans. The upstairs bath is located between the two rooms with access from the hallway. The upstairs bath has a full tub with shower.

Outside the large driveway allows for plenty of parking or playing. The screened porch is furnished with a table and chairs, perfect for outdoor dining or doing crafts with the kids. The porch also is furnished with an outdoor gas grill, and an outdoor shower. There are small bicycles, boogie boards, beach towels and sand chairs for you to use. For the family with small children there is a high chair, pack-and-play, bed rail, baby gates and toys & games.

The 4th week of June-Labor Day week (except pony swim week .. $875/week.
Pony swim week (the last week of July) ...................... $975/week.
The first full week after Labor Day week to Nov 01,
& Apr 01-to the week before Memorial day .................... $750/week.
We are required to collect 5% state sales and 5% local occupancy tax on fees.

All rentals are from Saturday to Saturday.

  • Our Family loved the Blue Huron! It was warm,inviting and clean. The location was private yet close to everything. Plenty of room for all 7 of us to have family dinning. The yard gave the kids plenty of room to play. They got a lot of use of the Bikes and beach chairs and toys. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the Screend porch was a great plus. All the nice owners extras made for a awesome vacation. Thanks, The Morgan family 7-8-06

  • Blue Heron is a comfortable, relaxing place to get to know Chincoteague and Assateague. It is conveniently located near Chincoteague's main business areas, with easy access to the road to the refuge and beach. The owner provided many little extras to help us make the most of the recreational opportunities available on the islands, including bikes and beach gear. Relaxing on the screened porch at the start and end of the day made our vacation especially restful.
