Located one hour north of Manhattan off the Taconic Parkway or 15 minutes east of the Garrison, New York train station on Metro North’s Hudson line.
Lake Oscawana is a beautiful, natural 2.5 mile long clear spring fed lake that provides excellent swimming, fishing, sailing/canoeing/kayaking and water-skiing/tubing.
Located on a quiet, woodsy limited access road, this charming fully furnished three bedroom/one and a half bath lakefront cottage has been fully updated while maintaining its original charm. The living/dining room features a large stone fireplace and is eclectically furnished with period pieces and cottage style antiques. It has original Arts and Crafts light fixtures and hardwood floors throughout. An outdoor shower is easily accessible from the main floor half bath.
The newly renovated, fully equipped country kitchen has classic white Carrara marble counter tops, a pine paneled sub-zero refrigerator, a soapstone sink and an imported French LaCanche stove. If you like to cook - this is your spot! Both of the indoor dining tables seat 6 (dinning room and porch). A 30 foot sunroom/porch faces the lake. Stone walkways lead to the cottage and the dock and french doors open out to the front terrace. Three stone terraces and walk ways surround the cottage. The cottage is located in a quiet cove of the lake providing a serene location to read or lie in the Hatteras hammock and enjoy the summer breeze.
This white cedar shingled cottage is only 30 feet from the lake providing beautiful waterfront views. It is furnished with complete sets of wrought-iron outdoor furniture/umbrellas, chairs and lounges. (Cushions provided). It easily seats 10 for outside dining.
To the west the cottage faces Fahnestock State Park with over 14,000 acres of pristine parkland and hiking trails. Fahnestock has been voted as one of Reserve America’s top outdoor locations. The Appalachian Trail runs through this beautiful Hudson Highlands park. Excellent hiking trails (and rock climbing) begin outside your front door.
Putnam is the safest county in the New York metro area and it provides easy access to the Catskills and Berkshires for day trips. The many historic Hudson River mansions are nearby as well.
The cottage is set far back on the property and the level, wooded grounds provide privacy and easy access to the dock/lake. It comes with an outdoor grill, canoe, rowboat and paddle boat. It is possible to rent a motor boat or private motor boat lake tours can be scheduled.

This is a level property and the water's edge is only 30 feet from our porch. We enjoy our full-range of watercraft - paddle boat, canoe and the rowboat. Use the hammock or the Adirondack chairs to enjoy views of the lake and the birds at all times of the day.
