"Let It Go" Cabin is a beautifully renovated home only three miles from downtown Highlands. The cabin has been updated to meet the discerning needs of today's renter, while retaining the casual elegance Highlands has become known for. Vaulted ceilings, wood floors, and tiled baths are all part of this elegant mountain cabin surrounded by rhododendron, hemlock, and mature hardwoods. Old stonework walks and walls fit perfectly with the mountain setting.
The open floor plan of the main living area houses a beautifully furnished den highlighted by a woodburning fireplace. The comfortable leather sofa is the perfect place to relax, read, stare at the fire, or watch TV and movies (DirecTV Satellite service with TIVO, BOSE Wave stereo). Original artwork throughout. The kitchen is open to the den, separated by a counter and two twig bar stools. Stainless steel refrigerator and dishwasher (both new), electric oven and stovetop, and a complete set of kitchen appliances and tools (toaster, microwave, blender, food processor, coffeemaker, deep fryer, coffee grinder, multiple sets of dishes and glasses, etc.) ensure that even the most advanced home chef will have the tools necessary to create memorable meals. Indoor pub table seats up to six. Outdoor dining table (on screened porch) seats eight.
The three bedrooms (king, king, and queen/x-long twin bunk) are fully furnished. The downstairs bedroom has a separate sleeping loft perfect for a child. The downstairs sunroom, just off the master bedroom, contains a pull-out Queen bed and houses an additional TV/DVD/VCR.
The outdoor living areas set this cabin apart. The spacious screened porch contains unique bark and bent willow furniture and an elegant dining area, enhanced by an outdoor heater and ceiling fans. The view of the mountain is spectacular. The deck overlooks the comfortable back yard and magnificent view, and is the perfect place to sit and rock the hours away. The deck also features a heater. The yard is highlighted by a running stream (man-made) and Adirondack chairs around a campfire pit. A hammock, swing, rockers, horseshoe set, and gas and charcoal grills will ensure that you enjoy your time outdoors. A canoe is available for exploring one of the local lakes. Please, no smoking inside.
