The house is suited for real “amateurs” only which are looking for a unique holiday within a totally private and natural surrounding. The property is 150 meters above sea level, extends over 500 squared meters of terraced land and is comprised of a 2-bedroom house and a 1-bedroom cottage. The main house is arranged over 2 floors. Kitchen and dining area are on the ground floor while two bedrooms and a bathroom are located on the first floor. The first double-bedroom extends onto its own private terrace with breathtaking sea views. The second double-bedroom is extremely spacious (an additional inflatable single bed can be fitted) and includes a large chimney and lounge area. The cottage has his own small bathroom and a full double bed. The property enjoys great outside living space including a large terrace, wooden floor solarium, BBQ and an external shower. Crystal-clear waters are only 15 min away at the bottom of a magnificent stone path perched on the ridge of the hill.
Driving directions: The village of Monesteroli is reachable by a 20 min walk after leaving your car at the bottom of Via Tramonti, a private road which takes you from Località Colle del Telegrafo into a beautiful bush slowly down towards the sea. From La Spezia you take the coastal road that leads to the Cinque Terre and just before the first tunnel take a right at the junction towards Biassa. Go through this picturesque village and keep going up the road for approx. 5 km till you reach the top of the hill. Take the first road on the left (Via Tramonti) just before the restaurant Colle del Telegrafo and keep going down till the road ends where you will park on the road side. The track way which leads to Monesteroli starts on the right-hand side of the last sharp bend of the road (track way n. 4b).
Electricity within the property is provided by solar panels connected to batteries. Cooking facilities and hot water are gas operated. Emergency power is supplied by a power-generator operated with petrol in case of reduced battery voltage. Any appliance of 75 Watts or more can only be operated through the power generator.
The closest groceries are in Campiglia (30 minutes walk) or Biassa (20 minutes walk + 10 minutes by car). Upon request groceries can be delivered at the house for a fee of €50, once during each weekly stay.
It is recommended to minimize the luggage and use backpacks. Some luggage can be left in the car and eventually be taken down during your stay.
Before arrival it is possible to book for the use of a monorail rack to carry the luggage and groceries further down closer to the house (and back-up upon check-out). The monorail is operated by a local association and carries a charge of €50 each way....moreless

About the owner: My wife and I live in Milan and have two young daughters. We both work in banking and this place is our refuge from it all! At the beginning there was no mobile reception, no running water and no electricity! It took us nearly 10 yrs to make it livable and we enjoy letting our guests share this unique experience.
Why the Owner Chose La Spezia: We bought this cottage 20 yrs ago when we were young and crazy and fell in love with this place which is incredibly unique. We did not realize at the time what it meant to rebuild the cottage which was then simply a bouch of stones! Every piece of furniture you see has been brought down the steep steps on our back!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage: Away from it all, even in mid august!
