We stayed in the 2bedroom/2bath property for 2 nights in January 2012. The view is AMAZING and the place was very clean and neat. We will definitely rent the property again –you can’t beat that price and location!

million dollar view, great value

We were very pleased with our 4 night stay between Christmas and New Year's 2011. The unit was very clean and well-appointed. It needs updating -- kitchen and bathrooms have no granite or fancy tilework -- but they are well-maintained and everything is in working order. The beds were comfortable, and the decor is light and neutral. The view of the ocean looking out over the pool is spectacular! We would definitely stay here again. You will not find a better oceanfront condo for the money.

A good value rental on St. Simon's

We have rented this unit for the the past two years and have been pleased. We plan to rent it again in 2012. The views are great and St. Simons is our favorite Georgia Coast Island. We like the flexibility to rent for less than a one week period during the summer high season and to check in on any day of the week. The unit is clean, well suited for our family, and we recommend it to others.

A Great Oceanfront Experience

This is a lovely condo with oceanfront views from almost every window. The decor is casually elegant, comfortable, and the owners are responsive. The beach is immediately outside and great for walking for miles, as well as swimming and sunning. The K&P resort has all the amenities immediately available. Bike and canoe rentals are available two blocks away. The village, many excellent restaurants, shopping, and galleries are within walking distance by beach or via the streets just behind the beach. We give this rental the highest rating. We've spent many carefree times here over the years and look forward to returning every year.

We rented this unit through vrbo Sept 2010. We only stayed one night of our 3 night booking. This was due to the poor condition of this unit. There was a lack of cleanliness around the entire unit, dirty bed linens, paint peeling and literally falling off the walls, and VERY poor air quality (including mold on the air vents and a very strong musty smell). My mother and young daughter both noted significant breathing problems thoughout the night. Due to their respiratory issues, we had to leave and book another condo, where no further breathing issues were experienced. We contacted the owner with our complaints and requested a refund for the remainder of our stay. We even offered to pay for the one night and the cleaning fee since we did stay there. The owner seemed in shock with our complaints and said he would not refund our payment. After several discussions, he offered us a 20% refund, which we NEVER RECEIVED! This was our first visit to SSI so we really had hoped for and expected a very clean and updated condominium, as it was described-- what we received was neither. We would absolutely not recommend this unit.

Owner response:There is no mold on the air vents. The paint might not be perfect, but there is no mold. Bed linens are washed between each renter, no exceptions. When I was first contacted by these people, I offered to have our maid come by and address any issues they had with the villa and they declined. As far as the air quality, neither the people who stayed the weekend before, the people who stayed the week after could detect any smell or had any trouble breathing. The gentleman’s mother has severe emphysema and his daughter has asthma. These conditions could have been aggravated by the fact that this particular unit is only about 100 feet from the ocean and a very humid sea breeze blows in every day or any number of other factors. I did offer this renter a 20% refund which HE REFUSED. This villa is not a brand new, five star rental and is not advertised as “updated” like this renter claims, however, it is clean.

We stayed here last summer and this condo was a nightmare. The pictures here are nice, but once inside..beware of black mold in the vents and around doors. Also, blood stains on pillows and comforters. Carpet in master bedroom smelled heavily with a urine smell. VERY VERY dirty!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR VACATION HERE!! The owner was very difficult to deal with as well! We sent an email and thought that VRBO would handle this matter. Cannot believe that this condo is still listed!!

Owner response:Let me start out by saying that we have had very many grateful, satisfied guests stay in our three bedroom King and Prince Villa, which is one of three out of 100 units at the King and Prince that offers this kind of view and accommodations. In fact, the family who checked out the morning of July 18, 2010, just hours before Jeff’s party checked in, were extremely happy to stay in our luxurious villa. We have many satisfied, return customers every year. There is absolutely no black mold on the A/C vents or around the doors, in fact, we have the A/C ducts and vents professionally cleaned on a regular basis. There may have been a bit of dust on the vents that I offered to have our maid take care of but Jeff declined. There were no blood stains on the pillows or comforters. The bedding is washed after every renter and we have not had any complaints of this before or since Jeff's. The “urine smell” in the master bedroom carpet was not something that was ever brought to my attention, however, I was in the villa before Jeff checked in and there was no such smell. This is a total fabrication. The carpet is another thing that we have professionally cleaned on a regular basis. In dealing with Jeff, I tried to be as accommodating as possible. I offered to have our maid come to the villa multiple times but he declined the service. I feel a review like this is especially unfair when we were never given a chance to address the complaints.
