  The propoerty is situated at a beautiful location on the lake within a nice neigborhood community, but the house itself was a bit old and dated from a decor perspective - it was functional, especially the big table in the dining room but the main floor layout with the walled off playroom in the middle was simply odd and chopped up the space too much. The kitchen was adequately stocked with cooking utensils but if you want to eat / drink using products other than paper/plastic for a large crowd, you will need to bring your own. The sleeping arrangements were very comfortable, but the bathrooms were all quite small and there was a bit of mold in the ceiling of the main bathroom on the main floor - otherwise the house was clean and well maintained. The slope to the lake is quite steep, manageable via the stairs for everyone except our older guests but that is the price you pay for the deep water. The owners were very responsive and GREAT to work with. The only suggestion I'd make is to add outdoor trash cans to the site. We certainly understood taking our trash out ourselves, but we could only keep it in the laundry room during our stay as there were no outside trash cans to use -- too many critters in the area to leave unprotected bags outside overnite.

  This lake house was ideally located in deep water at SML. The layout was perfect for multi families. Great kitchen and dining room overlooking the lake. Furniture in very good condition. Plenty of escape areas to read a book. Nice neighborhood to go for a run. Dock was enjoyable with the dock furniture and floating platform. Beds were very comfortable. House would bump up to premium/luxury house if bathrooms were renovated, but really not a big issue. Thoroughly enjoyed our summer vacation!

  The house was great. The owners are very easy to work with. The best thing about the house is the dock and the view. If you have never been to Smith Mountain Lake, go SOON!!!

  This house is exactly as described in the details. It was large and clean, and perfect for our family (2 adults and 4 teenagers). The dock is very nice and had plenty of room for swimming and keeping a pontoon boat and waverunner. The house is located just north of Bridgewater marina and the lake is plenty wide for skiing, tubing, etc.... The owners were very easy to work with and helpful. We cant wait until next year!!!

  This place is way better than the description here. They should get some better photos. The property is immaculate and clean. The owners were soooo easy to deal with and reachable. I would highly recommend this place highly except I want to make sure it's available when we come back so I want to keep it a secret. :-) I enjoyed visiting the Peaks of Otter on the Blue Ridge Parkway which is very nearby and made a great side day trip. The super large family den/game/tv room downstairs was amazing. We all hung out there for hours. Neighbors were very friendly too. We will be back!!

  What we liked: Large kitchen, kids playroom, very cool! Great dock! Clean water! Deep! House has lots of room (you can get away to read a book!) What we didnt like: A bit too many steps, but it translates to deep, clean water! Two main level bathrooms are a little small.

  I really liked the all hardwood floors on the main level. The reason we vacation at SML is becasue we like the water. We found the dock very, very nice. Clean, deep water and it was on the main channel. Lots of fun boat watching and activities!
