We are working professionals (landscape designer and Dentist) who love the beach area, I attended grammar school here and returned in 2002 to call Ventura home again. We take pride in our rental and assure you a quality product at a reasonable rate. We are surfers and world travelers who have stayed in many rentals and know the needs of travelers and vacationers.

The Unique Benefits of this House
There's the beach just 14 houses down the lane, and surfing along all the jettie. There's the little village area with coffee shop and restaurants just three short blocks away, bike paths to the pier and the park, and grocery shopping 5 blocks away. This is a great location even without a car!

Our family of 6 (4 kids ages 16 to 2) stayed here for 2 weeks this past summer and we really enjoyed it. It's close to the beach, and the kids woud walk there by themselves, since there are no roads to cross. The outside shower was definitely a plus as was the really peaceful backyard. We were able to do several day trips to our favorite destinations and always come back to "our" beds. We would love to come back!

My family and I have enjoyed this rental every summer for the last 4yrs...we love it! It's perfect for us ~ 3 bedrooms, light and airy, and the backyard is beautifully landscaped (love the outdoor shower and the koi pond). The beach is a quick jaunt down the street, and there's a shopping center about the same distance in the other direction...perfection! We highly recommend Shangri-La!!!

We have stayed at this Beach Cottage for the last two summers. It is well maintained and it is located in a quiet neighborhood close to the beach. We love to ride our bikes from the cottage to downtown Ventura as well as there is a great bike path along the beach. The back yard is our favorite location at the beach cottage and we spend many mornings and evenings enjoying the weather and the garden. The cottage is fully equipped and cozy and perfect for family time together.

My wife and I have stayed at a number of vrbo cottages in the Pierpont area over the past 10-12 years. We are returning here for the 4th year in a row. Nothing good be better. The cottage is compact and all on one floor - something not easy to find in this area - and with in easy walking distance of a good supermarket and a great donut shop. There was a slight problem last year when the previous tenants had not moved out on schedule. The owners quickly resolved the problem by arranging for a one-night no expense stay. There is a next door neighbor who has also helped with problems like the time we locked ourselves out. We are, for the most part, alone but our daughter and granddaughter stay with us for a week or so, and friends for a few days. The house is quite comfortable for us and our company. That's thanks in part to the half-bath in the spare bedroom. A compact outdoor yard, with the washer-dryer just outside the kitchen, is a great place to relax while the washing & drying are working away. It's an easy walk down to the beach, a bit longer walk to the Marina where there is a quiet park, and - for those in good shape - a reasonable walk to a large park adjacent to downtown. Joggers and distance walkers can readily access downtown. Lots of good things to do in Ventura, Oxnard, and the surrounding area. We like the antique stores and the thrift shops. Close to Santa Barbara and not that far (less than two hours) from LA via the freeways that are just a couple of blocks away. The listing and the photographs are true representations of this delightful cottage. I have some mobility problems and my wife and I are both in our late 70's. It is especially suited to our needs. We've stayed at some fancier places in the area but they have lost their charm. We've also stayed at a few that aren't as described and where the owner or property manager didn't pay attention to issues and problems. Have no fears! This is a place you will enjoy and where you can leave your worries behind! Enjoy.

Just returned from staying at this lovely property, and I want to turn around and go right back. The photos and descriptions were accurate, but didn't quite portray the wonderful feeling you got as you walked into this beach house. It is clean, well maintained and cute. The house is fenced and gated all around which was great because we had small children. There are all the appliances you will need. There were 3 adults and 2 children, and we all fit perfectly. The pond added to the relaxation factor while lounging in the back yard. The outdoor shower was a must since the beach is just a hop, skip and...well, pretty much just a hop and skip. About a minute or 2 minute walk down the lane right to a great beach. Good restaurants within walking distance (2 or 3 blocks). The owners were gracious and helpful. I would definitely recommend this wonderful property to friends and family.
