With fantastic mountain views, this new home, built in 2005, with three bedroom, two and a half bath plus family room, offers the best in mountain living, with easy access to the recreational amenities of Tahoe Donner in Truckee.
Our summer guests have immediate access (1 1/2 blocks away) to the extensive Tahoe Donner hiking and mountain biking trails and the Equestrian Center. And your guest passes allow you access(with a small fee)to the private beach and boathouse on Donner Lake, the two Tahoe Donner Clubhouses with pools, and the tennis courts. And Lake Tahoe is just 20 minutes away.
For winter guests, snowshoeing and cross country skiing are literally just out our door, as we are minutes from Tahoe Donner's extensive X-Country ski trails and the Tahoe Donner Downhill ski slope (great for beginners and new skiers). For serious downhill skiers, Northstar, Alpine Meadows, Sugar Bowl and Squaw Valley are just 15-20 minutes away.(4-Wheel drive vehicle recommended).
The extensive Tahoe Donner amenities also include the beautifully remodeled Trout Creek Clubhouse, with heated lap pool , hot-tubs, sauna and steam rooms and the expanded fitness center with its weight machines, exercise bikes, rowing machines,---and other exercise classes. All amenities are accessible with your guest passes-and a small guest fee.
Our home was constructed on a lot carefully selected for its view and the sense of peace and tranquility it offers. The upper level has a knotty-pine paneled great room with vaulted ceiling and a wall of windows looking out to the mountains to the West. A gas fireplace contributes to the coziness of the living room. The granite tiled kitchen is well equipped for either quick or complicated meals - and opens to the dining area and living room. An excellent stereo system - with an extensive collection of jazz and eclectic CDs - offers our guests the opportunity to incorporate music into their mountain experience. Also upstairs is the master suite with queen-size bed, large closet, and beautiful stone-tiled master bathroom with shower and two-person jacuzzi tub. The living room and the master bedroom open onto the large view-deck, offering gorgeous sunset views from inside and out.
Downstairs there are two more bedrooms. And allowing for some separation between noisy and quieter activities, the family room is downstairs, with a gas fireplace, a flat-panel HD TV with DVD player,and a closet full of games, and a sofa bed that can sleep two. There is also an additional single futon for the potential 10th guest. You'll love our amazing new ultra-thick elite mattresses on all the beds!
And for those who can't be out of touch with the rest of the world, the house has free wireless internet access, and free long-distance phone calls anywhere in the country.

This was a lovely home with a wonderfully equipped kitchen opening into a great room. We found it perfect for our group to hang out in together for hours cooking, reading and spending time together after long days of skiing. Thanks to John and Diane for making our trip so special!

We spent fourteen glorious days in August 2010 enjoying this beautiful hilltop home. The kitchen is well appointed for the gourmet chef. The views from the deck are spectacular. We never ran out of great things to do at Tahoe Donner and Donner Lake. We would rent this lovely home again in a heartbeat.

We had fun filled days in the mountains enjoying biking, horseback riding, kayaking, swimming, tennis, rafting, jet skiing, and ice cream!! This is a very conveniently located, meticulously appointed retreat that is just minutes away from countless activities. Located in a quiet Tahoe Donner neighborhood with spectacular views of the setting sun over the Pacific Crest from the living room and adjoining deck. The house is well suited for families with two bedrooms, family/TV room, and game filled closet on the lower level and a peaceful open floor plan and master bedroom with deck on the upper level. The home owners association provides inexpensive tennis, golf, swimming, and horseback riding lessons for kids that gave us morning time for long bike rides and hikes. This was a perfect combination of long active summer daytime family fun and relaxing evening cocktails and dinner with a spectacular view of the Sierra Mountains, setting sun, and a star filled night sky.

Wow! What a beautiful home with a truly amazing view all around! We had a very relaxing 4 day getaway with our toddler. ( For those who have young kids this is a rare occasion). There are plenty of spaces to venture around inside and out. We also enjoyed your music collection. It put us right into a calming mood. Thank you so much!

What a wonderful home! We truly enjoyed relaxing in the great room with fabulous views (I stared for hours) with the fire going and a great music collection Very relaxing. We spent New Years Eve here and I can't think of a better place to bring in the New Year! Thank you again-- we will return soon--
