Stayed here with my girlfriend and 2 dogs for 5 nights. This place is absolute heaven, very relaxing with no noise or passing traffic. Red squirrel visits daily for his breakfast. Numerous different birds, bats and owls visited the garden. The dogs had the time of their lives as the gardens are completely enclosed and they could be left to wander. Everything you need was available in the property although we spent the entire week in the gardens and summer house as the weather was great. All in all a great place to visit, stunning views, well kept gardens and completely relaxing, Michael & Tracy

Year Purchased: 1972
About the owner: The Wolery was built in 1972 as a holiday home for the family which lived in London. In 1990, our parents retired here and it became the family home. It is still the place we all return to when we can.
Why the Owner Chose Dumfries:
The Wolery is so called because the Glen always had barn owls when we were children and Wol is where Owl lived in the Pooh books. The site was chosen because of the fantastic views it affords across the Solway.
The Unique Benefits at this Bungalow:
There are still owls around, as well as red squirrels, woodpeckers, deer, badgers and for much of the year the sound of geese can be heard as they come and go from Mersehead RSPB reserve. The view never fails to impress.
