We loved the house on Ash St. It was beautifully maintained, clean and well stocked, They thought of everything to make our stay exactly what we needed. We could walk to the lake and it was close enough to town yet quiet and away from the busy tourists on a holiday weekend. Thanks!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Our family rented this beautiful home for a white Christmas and stayed until to New Years eve and had a wonderful time. The house was superb! Walking distance to downtown, which we did more than once even in the snow. Our daughters loved having their own space in the finished basement with it's own TV and bathroom. The craftsmanship throughout the home was beautiful and everything was top quality and very comfortable. Having the laundry was a huge help after playing in the snow. My mom couldn't get over how well stocked the kitchen was with all the various dishes, cooking pans, and gadgets. The supply of local menus were great for the times when we wanted to go out to eat as well. Note: the only suggestion would be flannel sheets for those cold winter nights. ; ) We would most definitely use this house again and recommend it to friends and family!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

5 years ago our family of 4 adults gathered at this central location for Thanksgiving weekend and had such a wonderful time we decided to do it again this year! The house is exactly as described and then some - cozy, extremely well-equipped, a delightful walk to downtown shopping, dining and the waterfront. The property manager was a delight and everything we could need was handled at our arrival or available at our fingertips. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Coeur d'Alene!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Perfect place to stay for Ironman CDA. Wonderful location and exceptional for myself as a place to rest, relax and prepare; and equally wonderful for our two children to play and explore. House was pristine and we would have no reservation in requesting to stay here again. Short walk to great restaurants, the beach, City Park and the race course. But private and quiet - none of the race bustle was noticable from the house itself. Great indoor space during a rain storm - enough living space for everyone to spread out and still enjoy the day. Very charming.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I (wife, parents, and sister) rented this house for the Christmas to New Year's week. The house was great. Location: very close to downtown; my wife and I even walked over two blocks to attend Christmas Eve services at local church. Space: We fit 5 people very spaciously. The finished basement serves as a separate suite with it's own bathroom. Accomodations: everything was top quality and very comfortable. My wife was constantly amazed at the high quality of the furnishings and appliances. And the laundry was helpful. Note: the only full standing shower is the one in the basement. I would definitely use this house again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I stayed @ the 8th street house during Ironman CDA. It was the perfect location to be close to the race course for my family and far enough away from the transition area and expo to keep my nerves @ bay. We enjoyed all the outdoor amenities ie the deck, grill and the front porch was wonderful for relaxing in the evening. Being within walking distance of downtown was also a big plus! We did not have any children in our party but were impressed w/ the games and toys available for children! The house was completely stocked w/ everything we needed! ( just need some pot holders in the kitchen) Jim was wonderful and very helpful w/ suggestions for entertainment and for race day viewing. He also was a terrific cheerleader for me before, during and after the race! We all had a wonderful week and would definitely stay again in the future!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

My husband and i stayed here 4 days over the Memorial Day holiday. The home was very clean and comfortable. The remodeling on the home was top notch with attention paid to every detail.Appliances were new. Heated floor in kitchen. Speakers for music in every room. The home is located on a very quiet, tree lined street. Convenient to lake and downtown area. Good home base for short day trips outside of town. Jim, the property manager, was very informative. He met us at the house and went over the pre-stay check list to make sure everything was in working order. Phil, the owner, called mid-week to make sure we were comfortable. It was a very enjoyable stay. I would stay here again on a return visit. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to feel at home away from home on their visit to beautiful Coeur d'Alene. Thank you Jim and Phil! We'll be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The house was a perfect "home away from home" to celebrate the Easter weekend. The three of us were very cozy, enjoyed the hideaway TV, the well appointed kitchen, and the soft beds. The location made it easy to enjoy the shops and other businesses close by - maybe a bit too close to Zips where we enjoyed 3 large milkshakes for desserts one evening. The proximity to the Centennial Trail also made for an enjoyable run one morning. - From Guestbook -Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: Hi! from Phil and Jan. Flying is our passion and Idaho is perfect for back country flying adventures. We enjoy biking, kayaking, hiking, fishing and everything Idaho has to offer. We especially enjoy the friendly people of Coeur d' Alene.
Why the Owner Chose Coeur d'Alene:
Our cottage on 8th Street is really special. We spent 14 months remodeling the home both inside and out. Previous owners dating back decades would drop by and introduce themselves and tell of great stories of raising their children in this home. They very much appreciated the improvements that we made.
Of course the location is perfect. The home is on a quiet street but only 3 blocks from Sherman Avenue where all the stores, coffee shops, and restaurants are located.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
From our cottage our guests love to take leisurely walks into town. No need for a car. Tubbs Hill nature walk is a really popular activity. Our home is fully fenced in and you have privacy in the back yard while cooking on our grill. Everyone really enjoys the home audio system. Mom can soak in the claw foot tub listening to Mozart while Dad is in the kitchen listening to 80’s rock while cooking for the family.
