Fantastic home and location! Emmy and Dave are wonderful. We stay for 16 nights the end of July and early August producing/promoting A Taste of the Coeur d'Alenes in the City Park. This is our home away from home, and they accept cats, too! It is centrally located to City Park, Downtown and the Lake. We will definitely be back every year and will recommend to all our friends heading to Coeur d'Alene.

I have been reluctant to write a review of this "top secret" vacation home because, well, I wanted it to remain top secret. But, being selfish is not usually in my nature. I have been "convicted", if you will, into giving Emmy & John's Corner Cottage its just, and more than deserving review. So, finally, after many wonderful stays, the truth comes out: My wife and I have stayed at so many places over the years we cannot even keep count of them all. From Lake cabins, to 5 star hotels, Mom & Pop Motels, Mansions, Castles, Ocean Condos, resorts, we have had our share of samplings. We have had wonderful experiences, and, we have had some nightmarish ones as well. What we always like, is when you rent a place for the first time, and are pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. This is how we felt about Corner Cottage. If I had to use 5 words to describe Corner Cottage they would be: 1. Clean 2. Relaxing 3. Quiet 4. Luxurious 5. Affordable We have stayed many times over the years and always look forward to the next visit. This home still has the feeling of a brand new home. Everything works, immaculately clean, and it is very nicely appointed. Every detail seems as if it were created exactly as I would dream up a perfect vacation home. The beds, the pillows, the shower, lighting, decorations, cable TV, jetted tub, private, fenced yard, off street parking w/ garage, high end kitchen, I could go on forever. Also: Emmy is a very nice person and she is someone you feel like really cares about you and your happiness during your visit. Someone you know that is on top of things and that you can actually get a hold of. You never have to wonder if she has forgotten you are coming. Trust me, if you have rented lots of places, this is a very comforting quality! Ok, I will stop my gushing, but every word of it is the truth. Finally, I want to "publicly" thank Emmy & Dave for offering their lovely Corner Cottage for rent, and commend them for creating such a masterpeice of a vacation home. We love our visits and are already planning our next! * We LOVE the new interior paint colors, absolutely stunning.

This cottage is beautifully and thoughtfully designed. It feels very spacious with its high, vaulted ceilings. The location was exceptional... just a few short blocks (1/2 mile) to the lake, CDL Resort and city park. We spent our time riding our bikes on the Centennial Trail (located 1 block from the cottage) and then the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes (Harrison, ID). Harrison is a long (but scenic) 38 mile drive from CDL. We also enjoyed a lake cruise and hike at Tubbs Hill -- just a short walk from the house. The beds were extremely comfortable with very nice bedding. It was also convenient to have a washer/dryer, BBQ, garage, and computer with internet access. You won't be disappointed. This is a great house.

My sisters and I just stayed for three nights. I think it was unanimously declared the "perfect" spot to stay. In the last 45 years we each have travled through the area and have stayed at many a hotel, but after finding this gem we know we've found our home away from home. Can't wait to go back.

The house and accomadations greatly exceeded our expectation. We had a wonderful time there. We had 5 adults and 1 teenager in our family group. The accomodations were perfect.The house has been completely redone and feels like a brand new home. The house & yard had everything we needed. As a bonus the house is only a few blocks from the lake and the park. We would definitely recommend this house.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Emmy our host was very gracious and informative. The house is probably located in one of the best neighborhoods in town. Walking distance to everything. My wife loved the beds and jacuzzi tub. I highly recommend it. Dont miss Fort Grounds Bar and Grill right around the corner.

We had the best experience in this house. It was new, modern, amazingly well decorated and equipped, a real home from home. It was easy walking distance from the park and beach and downtown. It was in a lovely quiet residential neighborhood. The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean, there was even a washer and dryer to use if you needed it. I would definately visit again!

We rented Emmy and Dave's bungalow for two weeks in late June/ early July. If you are staying in Coeur d' Alene, you cannot ask for a better location. Downtown, the city beach, and Tubbs Hill are all a short walk from this beautifully restored vacation home. We will definitely tell all of our friends about this one.
