Nestled within the upscale gated community of Vizcaya, Sand Dollar guests enjoy an expansive private beach reserved exclusively for Vizcaya residents. Steps away, relax in Vizcaya’s large heated swimming pool, spacious entertaining deck, private cabanas and well-maintained shower and bathrooms.
Impeccably decorated, this beautiful home’s spacious layout comfortably accommodates up to 16 people. Expansive windows surround the 2nd floor living space, serving up spectacular Gulf views from every angle. The large open great room invites guests to relax and linger, with plenty of comfortable seating, flat screen TV, gas fireplace and café table seating. The expansive views draw guests out to the covered wrap-around veranda where they can spend hours relaxing on outdoor lounge furniture or dine at patio table seating.
Sand Dollar’s large well-stocked gourmet kitchen makes it easy to ‘eat-in’; equipped with stainless steel appliances and expansive granite countertops, there’s plenty of room for multiple cooks. The generous island and bar stools make the kitchen a favorite gathering spot, flowing easily into the open dining room and living space. Grill-masters will be enticed by the custom built-in grill station featuring a large gas grill, a ‘ceramic-egg’ charcoal smoker and spacious granite countertop, all conveniently located just off the kitchen and protected by the covered veranda.
Sand Dollar features four well-appointed bedroom suites, each with its own private attached bathroom for the ultimate in guest privacy. The luxurious 3rd floor master suite overlooks the Gulf, where guests can savor panoramic views from the casual seating area, the lounge chairs on the private balcony, or from the comfort of the king sized bed. Two additional half baths and two sofa sleepers with upgraded Cloud Coil mattresses provide additional sleeping options and guest flexibility.
After an active day in the sun, you may want to escape to the cozy high-tech media room. This amazing entertainment room is decked out with a huge hi-def TV, surround sound, X-box entertainment system, DVD player, a complete movie and sports channel cable package and even some old-fashioned board games. Stock the kitchenette and refrigerator, then sink into the comfy sectional sofa (also a sleeper) and you may find this room hard to leave. With TV’s in every bedroom and another DVD player in the living room, there are countless entertainment options for everyone. The condo where we were supposed to stay was unavailable because of a water leak so we were given the option to stay at the Sand dollar. This was our first experience as a family to have a private beachfront home all to ourselves. The view was spectacular. The home was beautiful and modern, but still comfy with all the amenities. Our only negative was that the dryer broke early on, but a serviceman was sent out the very next day. The Royal Beach Rentals staff was helpful and accommodating through the entire process. The property manager was adequately helpful. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Dirty toilets....dirty and inadequate soap in the pillowslips on the Master king pillows....broken door to bathroom....much disrepair, etc. This house is a definite "NO"! Check-in was a bit of a hassle due to Rental Agency being 15-20 miles from rental property. With heavy traffic between the two, travel time consumed near an hour. Property was nice, attractive, and perfectly located with great view. Housekeeping was somewhat lacking-floors/carpet were dirty and needed mopping/cleaning;lots of beach articles (and sand) left in the garage from previous guests, but basic needs met. A/c didn't work well initially but agency worked hard to get it repaired. Agency very professional and attentive in all respects. Manager responded on 7/17/2012: Thank you for your review. We are currently in the process of changing our check-in process in order to be more convenient to our guests at the west of 30-A. We also apologize for the inconvenience of the AC not working properly, however we are very happy we were able to get that taken care of for you. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Being right on the beach, without the commercialism of Destin was bliss. The bike path was also very handy and well-used. We had some major break-downs with the rental (AC and hot water heater went out) but Royal Beach Rentals responded ASAP and had them fixed the same business day. The cost of the unit seemed a bit over-priced for various reasons. I would consider renting this unit again but not at the peak season rates which understandably, double after Memorial Day.
