There is gin clear deep water right behind you with ample dockage for your boat or bonefish skiff. The dock has fresh water and a shower. The house is located in the charming and quiet Islamorada Village neighborhood of Tollgate Shores on the southern tip of Lower Matecumbe Key. You are seconds away from the bay and a few minutes away from the ocean via the Channel 5 or Channel 2 bridge. Everglades National Park lays a 15 minute boat ride to the west. Some of the oceanside dive sites that are within a 15 to 20 minute boat ride away include the Alligator Reef Lighthouse and Chica Rocks. This latter site is a protected marine sanctuary with mooring buoys so you do not have to use an anchor to secure your boat. On the bayside, 5 minutes away by boat or 20 minutes away by kayak, there lies the prettiest beach in the Keys (White Marlin Beach) where you can relax and frolic with the locals or just take in the amazing sunset. Whether you prefer diving, deep sea fishing or the back country this spot will provide you with the ideal home base from which to explore and enjoy the beauty and natural diversity of the Florida Keys.
