Fantastic location and very good value-for-money. At first I wasn't sure about Balham as I'd never heard of it but it turned out to be a real find. There are loads of different restaurants and pubs within steps. Being so close to the Tube meant getting in and out of the centre was super-easy too. I can recommend it for couples (it was just my husband and I) but there is a futon in the lounge (one of us snores!) so I guess very handy for either couples like us or families with kids.
