This is the one that you have been looking for! Your own furnished private master bedroom and spa like bathroom in our lovely Steamboat Springs home. With a comfortable sitting area right in your room as well as in the beautiful sun room you can spend quality time on your vacation relaxing. Walk down the driveway and get onto the free local bus to go skiing or to go downtown in the winter. In the summer, you can enjoy a lovely 15 minute walk to the mountain for a hike. This is a very comfortable and spacious home in a wonderful location.
In addition, beginning on August 1, 2009 you can add an additional person or 2 to our upstairs guest room, perfect for a small family or 2 couples looking for an inexpensive vacation option. Email for pricing on this new option!
The difference between the other rental properties out there and our home is a lovely sun room, a private backyard hot tub with a view of the mountain, a charming woodstove, a sitting porch, a giant landscaped yard, mountain-lodge-style furnishings throughout, and a sunny south-facing wall of windows. You will not find a better B and B style room for rent in Steamboat at this price. Hurry, because this one won't last! We are available for year round bookings so consider staying with us regardless of what time of year you come to the Yampa Valley.
Before booking a chain motel in town consider the amenities that we provide at our home including: flannel sheets, down comforter, queen sized aspen bed, spa robes, soft and cozy bath towels, Aveda soap/shampoo/conditioner, free WIFI, flat panel LCD TV in your room, private on-site hot tub, free city bus that stops at the end of the driveway, on-mountain quiet neighborhood 3/4 of a mile from the ski area base, spa-like shower big enough for two, relaxing sitting area in your room and in the beautiful sunroom, as well as a gas fireplace and wood stove for warmth & ambiance. We just completed a full gourmet kitchen remodel and you will have full access to store food in the cabinets/fridge/freezer as well as to prepare any meal that you wish.
We are a 30-something couple that are also 11-year Steamboat locals. We realize that quite often couples come up from Denver to use their 6 days of skiing at Steamboat (part of their Copper/Winter Park passes) and have no place to stay. Did you know that with that same pass you can ski for FREE after noon on Fridays - so why not come up on Thursday night and take advantage of this opportunity. In addition, there are likely many couples around the country that wish to visit Steamboat but would like something a bit more personal than a chain Motel.
In short, we rent out the master bedroom in our home that we live in full time, to couples who want to get away from the city and enjoy a ski or summer vacation in Steamboat. We live upstairs and have our own bathroom while you will be downstairs in the home's master bedroom and attached spa-like master bathroom. The kitchen, living room and dining room are all communal spaces where many a wonderful dinner party or cup of coffee have been share between us and our guests. Our favorite part of this arrangement is meeting new people from all over the country and the world. As avid travelers ourselves, this is a gift that we have received during our world travels that we hope to give back to you while visiting Steamboat.
If you have ever traveled outside of the country, this type of guest house concept should be a familiar one to you. The benefit to you with this arrangement is that we are available to help point you in the right direction when it comes to the following recommendations: dining, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, winter/summer activities & how to spend time in Steamboat like a local (i.e. - fun and inexpensively).
We are located on the mountain and directly on the free bus line during the winter. Basically you can park your car on Friday night and not drive it again until Sunday night.
If you wish to try a bit of snowshoeing while you are here, we have 2 sets of snowshoes that we would be happy to lend to you, so bring your hiking boots. We hope you will consider our home yours and come to ski Steamboat’s amazing champagne powder.
Just so you know, we also have two house dogs - 10 year old chocolate lab Molly Brown. She is extremely friendly and loveable, but if you are allergic to dogs, then you likely want to consider another home for your vacation. While Molly loves meeting new people, she isn't a big fan of sharing her space with other dogs, so we apologize but we are unable to accomodate guests with dogs of their own. We also have 2 year old Jasper, a black lab who flunked out of seeing eye dog school due to bad knees. He is a lover with a special propensity towards licking!

This is more than a vacation rental, this is our full time residence in Steamboat. I have called Steamboat home, off and on since 1997.
