  This was a wonderful home away from home. We felt comfortable and welcomed from the moment we arrived. Cathy is the perfect hostess and her property is welcoming and absolutely immaculate! She was very attentive to our needs and was able to offer advice about sight seeing and great places to dine. We highly recommend this rental if you are looking for a relaxing and comfortable get away just moments from the beach.

  My husband & I stayed 5 nights at Bougainvillea and thoroughly enjoyed it. Cathy was a wonderful hostess, helping us in many ways: she procured our bus passes, arranged for our airport transportation, answered all our questions and generally took care of us. A very lovely and friendly person - there is no way you could not like her!! The room was clean, comfortable and well-maintained: a king size bed with a fireplace, a huge bathroom and a small but nice kitchenette, complete with dishes. We picked up groceries for breakfast and had wine and appetizers available in the room. We also had our own nice patio with ocean views. This is a great location, with the beach/park just across the street. The bus stop is just down the road, so we took the bus to Hamilton, The Dockyards and St. Georges on different days. We were in walking distance to The Lighthouse (with The Dining Room restaurant - loved it), Henry VIII restaurant, The Reefs Hotel and other gorgeous beaches. We could also walk to the Railroad Trail for running or walking. This was our first experience with HomeAway and we were certainly not disappointed. I would highly recommend Cathy's place. And according to the guest book, everyone has enjoyed it. She also has a beautiful pool. It was too cool for us to use in March, but that would be another great feature for the warmer seasons. We had relatives staying in Allamanda, the other unit at Cathy's house, so that was a very nice arrangement, being so close, but still having privacy.

  Bermuda is fantastic and Bougainvillea is the place to stay. The location and accommodations are superb, and Cathy is a tremendous hostess! This was our first trip to Bermuda and we could not have been happier with the experience. The listing is completely accurate...except even better. The studio is quiet, clean, and well appointed with everything you need. Cathy is friendly, knowledgeable, and tremendously warm and gracious. The location is beyond compare -- a bus stop is just a few steps down the road, Church Bay is a few minutes walk and, if you don't mind walking just a little further, there are some great restaurants and attractions that are easily walkable. We walked as much a we rode the buses, and loved the convenience of being able to do things on the spur of the moment. But beyond the accommodations and location, Cathy makes the entire trip so easy. She arranged for our pick up at the airport, and Cal the taxi driver (friendly, gracious and a safe driver to boot) showed us some sites and took us by the grocery store on the way from the airport to Cathy's. Cathy was ready for us, had upgraded us to Bougainvillea since it was unoccupied for the week and showed us around her place. Cathy had purchased our buses passes for us ahead of time, had a bunch of information about where to go and what to do, and sincerely told us to just let her know if we needed anything. She checked in with us a couple times over the week to make sure we were doing well. And far too soon, Cal was back in the driveway to drop us back at the airport (by way of a few road side sites she discovered we had missed) for our departure. Everything was enjoyable and effortless. We loved everything about our stay, would definitely recommend it, and hope to return some time soon.

  Bougainvillea was better than Cathy said it would be. She even had extra stuff there to make our stay easier and more enjoyable. And the location is perfect. Out of the way of the city, and 100 paces from a bus-stop.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

  It was a birthday and anniversary getaway, and we were looking for something a little less formal than the usual hotel, but with comfort, convenience, and class. Did we luck out!! Cathy proved to be an exceptional host, welcoming, friendly, and a font of knowledge! Our large bedroom with king sized bed and king sized bathroom also had a practical kitchenette, and we had a lazy breakfast in most mornings. One favorite spot for us was sitting on the front porch, overlooking the ocean, stargazing, while enjoying a glass of “something” (be it a Rum Swizzle, a Dark and Stormy, or a tamer fruit drink). The lovely pool in back was another fine relaxing place to spend time, paddling, reading, enjoying the garden. There are several top restaurants nearby, and all of Bermuda’s fabulous beaches, historical sites, and great shopping are easily reachable by bus or cab. We had perfect (for us) accommodations for a lovely vacation, and certainly hope for a return visit. Highly recommended.

  Our stay here was fabulous! We booked on recommendation of a friend, and we were not disappointed. We highly recommend (and already have)! The listing couldn't be more accurate. Upon returning we would stay in Bougainvillea, our preference of the 2 studios, simply because it is more spacious. Because we wanted to stay longer, we rented both studios. Both were very clean, and very well appointed. We appreciated the beach chairs and beach towels, and made great use of them on our many daily beach trips! We stopped at the grocery on our way from the airport to pick up foods for breakfast and lunches. Having the deep freezer accessible was great! We didn't use the grill, but it was great to have one available had we dined in (food is very expensive on the island!). The pool was private and relaxing, and we loved how close we were to Church Bay. Cathy, the homeowner was fabulous, friendly, and always very helpful. I think we took ALL of her advice. It felt like visiting family. We rented a scooter to get around the island (not for the inexperienced-we talked to many visitors who faired very well on the bus system). Everything was so accessible. We walked to Henry the VIII, which was a fun place for local music and dancing. Other restaurants we enjoyed included Frog and Onion Pub at Dockyard, Swizzle Inn for cheaper pub fare, and the fish chowder was delicious (we sampled it almost every place we went). If you plan to snorkel, bring your own gear. We enjoyed the beaches at Church Bay, Horseshoe Bay, Stonehole Bay and the connected South Shore Beaches, Elbow Beach (with a good lunch at the restaurant on the beach). Because we have a boat at home we didn't indulge but heard from many that renting a run-about Whaler to see the island from the water and snorkel off shore is fabulous. We also didn't make it the Lobster Pot to eat, but plan to on our next visit. Lots to see and do for history buffs. Overall, we enjoyed the perfect mix of privacy and seclusion, safety and beauty on the island, and daily excursions/activities. Cathy was the perfect owner-we wouldn't consider renting anywhere else!

  We felt a sense of remarkable good luck as we found paradise for 5 nights in Bermuda. The Bougainvillea was easily the cleanest rental we've ever taken. The view was spectacular. Church Bay Beach was a dream just a few steps across the street. The bus is easy- takes you anywhere. The restaurants in walking distance provide plenty of easy options. Cathy made us feel welcome and secure and we really liked her. She even set us up with our own personal cab driver who was also warm and generous. I cannot understand how we had time to do so much in 5 days when I would have been content doing nothing more than hang out at the rental and go to the beach across the street. I think we even got into the swimming pool every day. I love Bermuda and I recommend this rental.

  Our stay at Bougainvilla for a week in July was absolutely wonderful. We found cottage to be spotless, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom fit for a king. The kitchenette was small, but provided us with all we needed to eat simple meals inside or on the scenic porch. Cathy, our host, could not have been more accomodating or gracious, and "went the extra mile" in providing for us. Sliding into the pool at the end of a long day of sightseeing was such a treat. Even with a couple of street lights, stargazing was amazing on the front lawn. The location is great.................we couldn't have been happier, and we would love to return again someday soon!

  I just returned home from a weeks stay at Cathy's BEAUTIFUL Bermuda rental hideaway located in Southampton, and a stone's throw away from Church Bay. This was our 5th summer visiting the island but our first stay at this location. The cozy apartment is located on the owner's home premises and it was simply breathtaking. The apartment was private and cozy but what was most appreciated, was the cleanliness, updated accommodations, and friendly/helpful owner. We felt so comfortable and safe here that we never once locked our door! Our friend's rented her front unit and we enjoyed evening bbq's and wine on the front veranda of their unit which was also very lovely. Cathy, the owner, was so helpful, kind, and there when you needed her. I would recommend friends, family, and everyone else to stay here when looking for a great place to stay while visiting Bermuda. I will surely stay here again when I return to Bermuda. I loved it!

  We recently had the privilege of staying at the Bougainvillea studio on the idyllic island of Bermuda.This property truly exceeded our expectations.The owner Cathy is an absolute gem! She is warm, welcoming and eager to offer many helpful island tips. She goes above and beyond to make your visit pleasant. The studio was very clean,spacious, comfortable and well-equipped with everything you need.We used the gas barbecue everyday while enjoying the magnificent ocean view.The pool was well maintained and such a treat at the end of a busy day. This studio is in a great location and close to many beaches one of which is Church Bay, a snorkeler's paradise.There are also a variety of great restaurants within walking distance, some with evening entertainment. We totally recommend this property as a great place to stay while enjoying the beautiful island of Bermuda.
